The Last of Us: Part II (2020 Video Game)

I like the game

I was lucky enough to play The Last of Us at the start of the pandemic. Then shortly after playing, The Last of Us Part II comes out. So I was thrilled I didn't have to wait seven years like everyone else. But something weird happened. The story of the backstory sort of changed. It mutated into something that made no sense. Don't get me wrong. I still like the game. And it's up there with one of my all time favorites. Not as high up as the first game but high.

The game play is awesome.

Controls are great. Action is great. Characters do not repeat patterns so it makes the game a bit more harder to play but in a good way.

Graphic are amazing. Everything from start to finish is just incredible.

But my only issue is when the first game come out it was a different time in America. The story matched a reality that could possibly happen in real life. That's the fun of these games. The what if this really happened what would I do.

Then the part two comes out and it has the new America PC garbage mixed all in it. That's an impossible story line. PC and politics in general are best left out of entertainment. Always ruins it.

So, play the game. You will love it. But ignore the stupid parts that make no sense in the story. That was the only way I could enjoy it was by ignoring those parts of the story.

Roswell, New Mexico (2019–2022)

Another fail

Propaganda runs deep with this one. I'm about 10 minutes into the pilot and they have referenced trump about 6 times but lie about it. One claim was made that someone was developing a cure to regenerate limbs or something, just coming up with something off the wall so you get the gist, and they were so close to solving it but their funding got pulled due to having to build the wall. That makes zero sense. The wall cost about 40 billion dollars. Illegal immigration cost 103 billion per year. So I don't know what they are trying to say with comments like this. And again. I'm only 10 minutes into it. Threats of deporting legal immigrants. That does not happen in America. This show is supposed to be about aliens and the 1942 crash. Not about 2016 politics. Why do shows damn themselves by including political nonsense? I just don't know. Either way, if you can get past the ignorant story writing for the work brigand then you might enjoy it. Otherwise don't waste your time.

Halo: Transcendence (2022) Season 1, Episode 9

I didn't play the game

I'm a gamer but never got into Halo. I don't know it on a deep personal level. So with that I enjoyed the show. It makes me want to play the game to find out the real story line. But after reading some reviews the show is way different from the game. Either way. I liked it.

Dolemite Is My Name (2019)

Refreshingly great

This movie is refreshingly great! Eddie Murphy is one of the best stars around so you know it's gonna be good. But what makes this movie so refreshing is there is absolutely no politics or racism thrown in your face. It is an all black movie so of course there are jokes about white people but they are truly funny and in good taste. The movie has comedy, fun, down right dog diggty swagger. You will see some of comedy's most iconic black stars from Keegan, Mike Epps, Craig Robinson, all the way to Chris Rock. Shoot, it's got the great Snoop D. O. Double G. I watched the first 20+ minutes and then restarted it so that my wife could watch it. I laughed just as hard the second time watching it as I did the fist.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier (2021)

Too much politics but still a good show

The show is awesome. Everyone loves the characters in the marvel universe. Only issue with this show is they try to keep it PC. I'm here to say that in a world of alien attacks and space monsters trying to always destroy earth, racism would be the last thing anyone cared about. But somehow in this show that make it a top priority. If you can ignore those attacks and pc being thrown in your face it's a good watch. But for someone to get angry that there was a "black superhero" way before anyone else and no one knew about it just seems stupid to me. In a marvel universe things like race would of disappeared back when hydra was trying to take over the world. And dang sure would of chilled out when aliens attacked. That's why Netflix's Luke Cage did such a terrible job. All and all it's a good show. Minus the pc.

Search Party (2016–2022)

Can't stop watching it

This is a great show. It has comedy. Suspense. Excitement. Thrilling moments. It reflects on the typical self centered, narcissistic, entitled millennial. It teaches us that while everyone thinks everything is their business, it's really not. Curiosity killed the cat. It's wonderful. I binged the first season in one night. Watching episode 1 will tell you everything you need to know about the series.

The Emoji Movie (2017)

Great movie

This movie if great for kids. I enjoy watching it too. The only thing that sort of bothered me is the underlying message. It has a little of the PC feel but doesn't push it too hard. You know the everybody's trying to stay in their expected social cues and anyone that breaks from the patriarch will be hunted down and killed! That PC. But your kids will love it and shouldn't read between the lines. I ask you not to either. Just enjoy the movie for what it is. Dumb fun with some really cool moments and understanding of what really happens when we press the little emoji button on our phones.

Greener Grass (2019)

Perfect movie for late night with friends

If I was 20 year younger I would partake in you know what and enjoy this mind bending movie. Bring a bit older it touches on real like and how people will do anything for a few likes. It's a fantastic movie. I love the weird and strange. If you do too you will love it as well. Just watch it late at Night after a special cookie of brownie. 😉

The Death of Dick Long (2019)

Its a great movie

You cannot quite put your finger on why they would cover up an accidental death. You think you know and then boom it all comes out at the same time from multiple angles. Your first reaction is holy hippos what in the world. Watch it and you will understand. It's got some of that funny trailer park comedy in it mixed with some other horse crap. You will see. Trust me. Give it a watch.

Rick and Morty (2013– )

Instant Classic

If you have not watched Rick and Morty you need to stop reading this and go watch it. I can watch this show over and over without getting tired of it. It's right up there with I love Lucy reruns. I'm pretty much over Family Guy and this show filled that gap. It's just wonderful. I do not have a critique for you other than give the show a chance. If you do not fall in love with the first episode keep watching. One of the episodes is bound to hit a spot that sucks you right into the Rick and Morty universe.

Rick and Morty: Pilot (2013) Season 1, Episode 1

I've watched this multiple times

I love the Rick and Morty series. The pilot is one of my favorites mainly because the characters change after this episode. They talk differently, act differently, it's just different. It's almost like they had to make it a certain way to get past the people at Adult Swim and once they were green lighted they went another direction. I love the show, all the episodes, but the pilot is the greatest in its own way. I'm happy the show made it past the guys at Adult Swim. And to think they almost didn't air it.

This is a show about the literal actual Devil walking earth helping a hot sexy cop solve murders. The Devil's brother also helps, which is an angel, and the Devil's best Demon helps as well. God is not in the series but the mother of creation is. So, you have a literal Devil solving murders. Okay. Cool. We can all see that this is a universe created by the writers. But in this universe kids that sell drugs are innocent people, and people that are hanging out with murderous kids are supposed to be assumed as a normal law abiding citizen. This does not fly in the real world. If you are hanging out with someone wanted for murder you will be met with some resistance.

Bottom line. Keep political stuff out of the show. There is plenty of it everywhere else. People do not watch a show about the devil solving murders to get your political view on cops and the black community. Especially, when it is way off base. One could say the writers were just following the pattern of fictional writing and knows this sort of biased political view gets a rise from a lot of people. I'm really surprised they don't have President Donald Trump as Lucifer's best friend.

We all know every race has good people and bad people. We all know the police make mistakes. We all know some police have done wrong to people of many colors. None of this is why I watch fictional tv.

Alien Code (2018)

Reminds me of Primer

Years ago I watched a movie called Primer. This reminded me of that movie. This movie gives you the nerdy feeling like you can code computers. And makes you feel like you're solving a puzzle. And then it spins into a sci-fi type time and alternate dimension feelings in your stomach. You think you have it figured out and it changes on you. Budget wise It could have been filmed in my house and at my local college. But was still a really good movie. I never once felt bored. Never felt like it was low budget. The story did not require anything from special effects land. Over all I would recommend to a friend. Worth a mention. The acting was wonderful as well.

Daredevil (2015–2018)

Primer (2004)

Low budget but awesome

The ending is great! If you like si-fy and what if's this movie is for you. It appears to be low budget but that could be how the director wanted it. Some low budgets are hard to watch, this one is not. I really enjoyed it. Not something to watch with the wife.

The Book of Eli (2010)

It has some fun post apocalyptic stuff happening. Which is what I love in a movie. The only thing I did not like was the part where a divine being was leading him the entire movie. I myself like to keep God and Politics out of my entertainment. Over all its a good movie.
