Warning: Spoilers
I watched the whole film because I love Ana Kendrick. Sad to say however she alone can not carry a movie. She is just too cute. She is funny in her way. I still adore her. They had no way to end this film other doing the old switcheroo he did it she did it. Never liked Blake lively a little bit so a wasted evening. Lesson loearned when going with a very thin cast. It seemed like a lot of work to keep the plot moving along. Then the old twin sister trick just awful writing. As I write here I get angry at my self for watching it. Was it supposed to be a comedy ? The photography was awful. The one and onlt set the house. It had to be on a very thin budget. Plus it was a Lions Gate. They are no longer that cutting edge studio like A24

3 stars.

Lin Shaye Delivers a great Performance
4 October 2023
Last night I was looking around and found this film. It stared Lyn Shaye. I love he rso so much. She has done so many great characters Signal Insidious to name 2. Started out a bit slow after her husbands passing and finding out he spent all the money and adjusting to being alone. As we go on she has some ideas on how to bring in some money by doing A BNB. She makes me laugh on how she plays so dumb but has an is really finding out how much she has missed. She starts this fantasy of finding a handsome young man to I guess fall in love with her. As she slips into a fantasy world of her own making . This is where she shines in devloping how sick this characyer is. She can chasnge he mood from a lovely old lady to a killer. The land lady from hell. I really liked it alot and Lin is just a great actress. Thank you. It's on Freevee. Give a shot if you have nothing to do. I was very surprised.

What a downer
28 February 2023
Warning: Spoilers
First let me say I love British TV and Film, but this one was just a complete failure. The actors did a great job. I. loved Ashley Madekwe's character performance. She did her best with what she was given.

So it started out pretty good. At first I thought she was loosing it and having a breakdown about leaving her children and starting a new family and living a good life. As it shakes out she was lower than an slug as a person and mother to her original family. That being said WHY the hate for innocent children and commiting a murder. It was really a home invasion. In the UK people don't have guns (yeah right) but they all sat there being tormented then Ian was murdered. No one runs for the door or calls 911 or whatever they have they just let this all take place. Carl and Dione are criminals and London thugs. No way they were going to be paid off for just 20,000 Pounds. Like Carl said that's 1,000 Pounds a year for 20 years. He had some great lines that I thought were funny. Like the whole film I guess. Gave it a 3.

Amazing Series
6 February 2023
When I saw Summerhouse I do believe it was during Covid. I really loved the show. Knowing how UK shows go your lucky if you get a second season and if you do it's 5 years later. Well I was right but not exactly 5 years. Like the First one I found this by accident too, I was thrilled how well they connected all the dots years later. Acting is awesome the characters are interesting. I want to know more about them. I enjoy watching how gangs in London are different from the ones in the US. Not so easy to get guns but they do, knives are used as guns are scarce. Dushane Sully and Jamie ane at the center of the the power struggle. Seeing the colleateral damage is very sad. Love the show. I gave it a 9.

Very good movie.
24 June 2022
First of all acting was very good loved the kids. I agree with many here not a horror movie a bit more "ghost" but the way they come across was done well. As for Hawke I love this guy a lot but was it his movie? I don't think so, masks were scary enough and the way it was filmed first rate. Now as for the 1970's not sure why that was a large part of the film. Could be something I am not aware of and giving it a grainy look.of 1970's film stock well artistic license I guess. The police and the brother really they that slow. So being being picky I liked it and happy I saw it. Great way to spend an afternoon in a cool theater I would go see it it's good. 7.

Not one for Subtitles
14 April 2021
I had tried to start watching this show maybe 3 times but it was a situation you had to pay attention. Well the 4th time I stayed glued to the TV and found it amazing how much I love this show. I am a very loyal Wentworth and Orange viewer. Being honest I thought Maggie Civantos was one of the prettiest ladies I've seen So there was the hook. As the episodes wandered on I was binging and getting deeper and deeper. Loving all the Characters and very much into who they are. Spanish TV is not something I have ever watched. However I really enjoy the passion and their general outlook on life in this series. I think the Ladies are great. I put it up there with Wentworth in Acting but writing may be a notch down. I think it's a cultural thing However and a black mark.

So now on season 3 there were some big changes I just started it last night so I'll have to see where it goes. I love the Doctor gosh I hope he remains in the show. But I give this series a big thumbs up I will Miss Maggie however. Thank you for your time.

It should have been Called In Out Burger .

Wow I guess a pay check is better than nothing. This story was as weak as a 3 day old kitten. Hey I love Liam 100% but good lord this script was so predictable. Of course he is a very gracious thief. Never killed in the anyone in his life of crime. Oh really and now you want to give it all back. Naturally the FBI is crooked well he knew that in 2020. Really no where near believable. Chase scenes when things get dull and there is no dialogue.

I watched because I was very happy with the cast Liam of course Robert Patrick who lasts maybe 1/4 into the film Jeffery Donovan Under using him as usual. For the life of me IDK why we don't see more of him. Very good actor. So Tom is giver every wish he asks for. Just bad stuff. Gave it a 3 on script and editing. Lousy. Acting great from great actors. I can go on don't waste your time.

Thank you.

Such a Surprise
27 August 2020
Starting 2 favorites Tomas Jane and Ann Heche. I had not see Ann in a long time, I always thought of her as a very good actress.Going in I thought was going to be just a formula kidnapping or lost in the woods film. Boy was I surprised. The suspense was gripping many twists and turns. I didn't get it till the end then it all made sense. Heche was just great. Tomas played that role so well, it throws you such a curve. How can it be only a 5.6 here. I give it an 8 and that is too low. Jason Patrick kills his role as the Sheriff. All the characters are very complex. I might have to watch it again to see more. It's hard to review with out spoilers.I really loved it, writing first rate. Thank you.

Ok Ok how many of you watched this because of Kevin Bacon?
20 June 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Well I did I love the guy. Always a personal Favorite. He has done so much awesome work and now that he is on the down side of sixty this is what he is going to be doing. Lot's of poor scripts but studios still feel he's bankable. So there is my 2 cents about Kevin.

The film was not bad I gave it a seven it had some production value and I like stories about time displacement and different universes. Started slow but it built up well. Shot in England it gave a very dreary kind of ghost quality. Kevin has never ever stared with a so so leading lady. Get's the beautiful ones. But what I loved about this film was it addressed that he is getting old. Just a fact he can not play a 20 yo any longer he is 61 I think and at the conclusion of the film it showed how great of an actor he is. Script was better than average the little girl was great. Amanda was not very good bad casting there. Not a good paring with Kevin. Anyway after watching a zillion films in the last 3 months I give this one a go. Do it for Kevin Bacon If your a fan. Love the guy.

I Really Liked was Drawn In.
11 June 2020
This is a good one. At first I always have to adjust to the dubbing. I am not a fan of it but I guess with NETFLIX bringing in all these series from non English speaking countries I had better get used to it.

Loved all these young people doing the Mexico City High School thing. I assume these kids are Mexico's entitled, but as students they don't learn too much but can they party and take their I-Phones to great heights. The premise is pretty good it's a guessing game and I didn't really care who the hacker was but I had a pretty good idea. I really loved the actress who played Sofia she is very good for her first series. Now I'm not sure if this was made for NETFLIX or was on Mexican TV but it's pretty good. Some of these kids you just hate and the ending is justified.

Also the music on this series is really good. Not much I have ever heard B4 but i found a few songs for my collection. It's a go watch it and give it a chance it's kind of like a Mexican Riverdale Thank you.

Late to the Party
3 June 2020
Found this show on NETFLIX around March of 2020. I kind of it remember being talked about back in 2004 but life was very different and it fell through the cracks and missed it. Well falling in love with a show that is 16 years old and just watching every second with excitement and joy was a total surprise. First of all I loved the cast everyone of them that appeared during the 4 seasons of this show. Jacqueline McKenzie well I just fell in love with her. Never heard of her and just watched her on Reckoning. Right 16 years older. Still love her. All of the cast played their part so so well, a young Mahershala Ali you knew he was going to be a great actor. All very Vancouver I loved the look of the show and the premise was very X-Files. Really very Molder and Scully. Diana and Tom were a great pair they really seemed to go well together. I was so happy they just kept them friends and not a love interest like Scully and Fox. Writing was good and the original premise was an awesome story line and they stuck by it till the last season it started to get choppy and you could it was time to give it an ending. Sad to say we didn't get one as I read on You Tube everyone was pretty upset and I don't blame them. I knew that was going to happen but I came in VERY late so what could I say. Of course it is way too late now, but look at X-Files they did it maybe not so great but the fans got to see everyone one last time. If NETFLIX or Prime were around in 2007 someone for sure would have picked it up. Oh well it's never 2 late to get a proper send off. Always the problem with so much time passing would they still be working at NTAC, what did the 4400 evolve into? Hey maybe its better to let sleeping dogs lie

Big disappointment
27 May 2020
First off 2 of my favorite actors were in thin Sam Trammel and Aden Young. I didn't have high expectations but I thought at least a six. First off I hate films or TV shown that are filmed in Australia or South Africa and are supposed to be California or some other location in the US. I can spot it in the first 5 minutes. I wont go into it but it gives show no realism at all.

The idea for the story has been done ad infinitum Looking for the old serial Killer that just consumes everyone and finally takes over all their lives and they loose family and everything. Very low budget, if you have to go half way around to get paid to make garbage like this you had better find a new agent. Like I said i really like those 2 guys and feel they are better than that. The story was awful. Don't watch it. I am very generous with a 4. Thank you.

Making the Cut (2020– )

You Did Not Make the Cut
24 April 2020
This show has to be one of my biggest disappointments of the 2020 Season. I have been with Project Runway since day one. I love Tim and Heidi on Runway they chartered new territory in the NY Fashion Business for folks like me to watch and understand what was good. The competition between just grass root designers from all over the US made it so interesting and fun to watch.

Now Making the Cut has been a total sham. First they have designers with a label and already in business compete, then this goofy story with Heidi and Tim doing fun fake things together for a "comic relief" is just dumb. It takes any professionalism and real hot competition from the show. I guess Amazon called the shots here with the big budget and just pretty much telling Tim and Heidi how things are going to go. I will always watch Project Runway and enjoy every minute of it as for The Cut no thanks. Goes to show you can't reinvent the wheel can you. I gave it a 4 just because I love Heidi and Tim. Too bad they sold out. Thank you.

From a 10 to a 7
26 February 2020
This is a show that I have been with since day one. I was enthralled by the Actors subject matter and photography. The question was where was this going to all end up. Well the ending was such a bitter disappointment to me I had to lower my rating. It seemed to me that they may have run out of money, it took so long to put that final season together just to bring it to a quick low cost ending. Some of the main characters were just gone. As great as the acting was all the way through what happened to the Trade Minister Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa he was a main cog in the story. How would Rufus Sewell just go down with a wimpier. Who were all the people coming through the portal. Maybe I just missed it but as with all final episodes they mostly leave something to be desired. I wish I could explain my disappointment better. Thank You.

Guilty Pleasure
26 February 2020
As a 69 yo. male I have to admit to the 2 guilty pleasures I have One is Riverdale and Adventures of Sabrina. What drew me to these series are the way they are shot. The mood and lighting are very addicting to me. Scripts are very good for the Universe they are written for, I love Kiernan Shipka from her time on Mad Men she is a great young actress she is made for this role. Innocent yet a bit devious. All the Characters combine for wonderful story lines. Aunt Zelda the Leader of the Spellman Family Lucy Davis as the Comic Relief Aunt Hilda, great looking young actors just like Riverdale it's a great formula. Is it goofy yes is it a bit disturbing with Satan worship for sure. I an not comfortable with that like I said Guilty Pleasure. I love Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa shooting style colors like Pop's Chocolate Shop on Riverdale. So maybe just great eye candy with some fun story. They must work these young actors into the ground. Looks like hard work making these series. Thank you.

Ten 4 Me
15 October 2019
I went in to this movie with really lukewarm expectations. The reviews I have read gave it 6's and 7' as good but nothing special. Well for me it was like seeing old friends who I love again after some years of absence. Vince Gilligan's writing and direction were flawless. How he told the story of Jessie interwoven with all the back story from the last episode was perfect. Seeing Walter White and Jessie almost brought a tear to my eye. Jessie calling him Mr. White at the diner then you realize the road they travel and devastation they cause. The referral to Lydia dying in the hospital thanks to Mr. White. Jessie Pleamons was such a sociopath as Todd his dialogue fits him to a T. So in closing this was Jessie's story and it was done as great as Breaking Bad was, a classic show written by a genius. Goes all the way back to X Files. It's always great to see old friends you love. Thank you.

My second and Final Review
4 August 2019
Since I was so excited to start a review at S-1 E-2 giving the show a 9, I have not changed my mind. The direction and the photography was such a treat for me. Music awesome acting just spectacular. Maybe a little David Lynch here but much more 21 century. The ending well I am not going to blow smoke up your dresses, but I have no idea what it meant even though the episode was fantastic. Jenna Malone was fantastic, Cristina Rodlo was out standing awesome. How these actors took this type of direction amazes me. In closing it's not for everyone, there are many spots that there is NO dialogue but the picture tells the story. If you want something different and beautiful watch Too Old to Die Young. However my real question, will there be an S-2? If so it will probably take 2 years to make. The attention to detail is second to none of any series I have ever seen . If you know of one please let me know. David Lynch's Twin Peaks and Blue Velvet is all I can think of and it is not even close to them. Thank you out.

Not Popular
22 July 2019
Well I have so much to say here that will not be popular. I was very disappointed by this season. Season 3 started off with great possibilities and by the time E-6 came around I knew it was just going to turn into a big chase seen with cheap comedy relief. The kind are great I love them all I really do, the Duffer Brothers really let them down with this we are out of ideas season 3. That is the monster, where did they find that one? Certainly not at Industrial Light and Magic. The premise of a bunch of dumb Russian's from the 1980's and pulling an ignition wire from a 1980's vintage Chrysler for a Ford when a 1980's Chrysler has an electronic ignition and doesn't have one. I know I'm picky but if the story was better I could not care less. They could have had these kids been Flayed and others not and try to figure out is real or not. Billy was just tosses aside and his character was just flushed down the drain. So nest season new monster, gosh why not. Haven't done that B4. Anyway I dropped my Star down to 6. Millie Bobby Brown I love that girl. Sky is the limit for her. Out.

I'm only on episode 2
29 June 2019
I just can not just say something real quick here. I know I'm only on E2 but this show has me locked in like no other in some time. Episode one was an LSD trip the photography was stunning and the direction was so different I was mesmerized . The night color of LA was beautiful it is a painting in motion. The way the actors take their marks and just pose yet the story is being told through the photography. The lack of dialogue if fine by me the art tells the story. I will not binge this series. This one will take time. I gave it an 8 and I will come back after I finish it. Thank you.

Better Late than Never
22 June 2019
Let me start out by saying that I must have started watching this film at least 4 times and had never got 10 minutes in for one reason or another, well 0n 06/21/ 2019 I had the afternoon all to myself and I finally watched Ex Machina.

So here goes, I started out all quite discomforting and very mysterious. Not having any knowledge of what was going to happen, the ideas of a AI take over or sick murder or turning Caleb into a robot. Photography was great dark and foreboding always just warm light, except when they went outside then it was cloudy and fogy. No windows made me feel very claustrophobic. Great acting down the line with everyone doing their part to perfection. Awesome script it could have gone many ways I would have done maybe a little different, but heck I loved it anyway. That would just have been the ending.

It probably doesn't matter now in 2019 but I won't spoil all I can say about 2/3's in I figured out the ending. With maybe just one twist. So for that reason I gave it a 7 but it it a very good movie and my eyes never left the screen. Too bad I waited this long, but hey better late than never. Right?

Total Sadness
12 April 2019
I may be too old for this installment of Star Trek. The first season was good enough to watch season #2. Well this last week I have stopped watching. This to me is beyond my ability to even like these characters. If this chaps anyone I'm sorry. This is TV not real life so I digress. Women seem to be running the Enterprise and Star Fleet, men are made to the be the weak link. Even Pike he always acquiesces to Burnham. I don't remember Pike being so weak. Also as it goes the CGI is just a bit much come on you don't need it at all. Look back at the original and Star Trek Enterprise (my favorite BTW) writing and character development were the mail goals of the series. If you want to call character development Tilly being the comic relief but such a genius she can fix everything Sorry that's not going to work for me. If I were paying to watch this I would be irate. So I have dropped this show to a 2. Thank you for listening.

Nice Surprise

I started this movie with little expectation, and found a hidden acorn. I really liked it, it was not just "wrong turn" movie the story had some substance. Acting was good and the story moved along with some twists and turns. Worth watching.

Really well done
20 January 2019
UK series are usually done very well and this one is no exception. Acting is first rate and the gritty side of London is on display. Cold and cloudy with different areas of the City on display and what they are known for, so if you end up in an area that is not your own look out. Character development moves along at a nice pace and reveals many dark secrets and true behavior of the characters.

Great acting love Raza but recommend using your subtitles. Accent is hard to understand and they speak very fast, also they use slang that I don't understand. For sure it adds to the realism of the series. Great show.

I gave this Film a 10
24 November 2018
My most favorite Horror Film ever. What a great concept. The Film has a great look, filmed in Detroit the surroundings are not familiar at all and it always cloudy. The acting was first rate they all looked so into it, it had scares and had you always looking behind the characters. I probably watch this movie 2 times a year because I always notice something new. I wish there would be more horror like this. No CGI just a scary story. Thanks

Warning: Spoilers
This film has to be one of the worst I've seen in a while. I fell for it by thinking it was going to be a stalker type of film . That would have worked so much better. However I stuck with it because Ms. Brewer is so HOT. She really "commands" the screen as I sure the director could see. Can anyone explain the ending to me? Did it have an ending? Who was her double? Was it CGI? What happened Tinker? Too many questions and NO answers. If you want to watch a very sexy lady in Madeline Brewer go ahead and watch but if you want substance forget it.
