Constantine (2014)
I wonder how this show has a good rating
Let me start off by saying I hate to be one of those people who didn't even finish a couple of episodes before writing a review but I honestly couldn't get myself to finish the first one.
For the first half an hour of the first episode instead of being interesting and catchy for the audience the acting felt cheap and cheesy, the special effects were mostly terrible for something that is made in 2014, and altogether felt like a cheap knockoff of Supernatural.
To be exact this's what killed the show for me in the first episode:
1. The special effects at the beginning when the possessed girl was flying all over.
2. The girl who is the main character (which I don't even know if she's supposed to be a high-school girl or a college girl or what exactly). So let me get this right, her car acts crazy, the ground is destroyed, a hell hole opens up with fire and stuff, a creepy guy shows up, her friend dies, and she remains completely composed? doesn't freak out or cry or anything? are you kidding me? So back to the part where she met a creepy guy after that and another creepy guy who she saw in her building (which in real life is a murder suspect) but she doesn't tell the cops about them and trusts whats said in a fortune cookie? Oooooooook I'm done.
3. And the last part that at which point I had to stop watching because my intelligence was offended. You see they were in a taxi cab which was hit by a truck and then the next scene you see all doors are closed, Constantine is magically outside the car and the girl is asking for help because... the doors are shut, sooooo he can teleport?
4. Lets take a moment of silence for the Stupid Demon. So a demon misses with the girls car, and electricity all around, he even killed her "friend" but he wasn't able to kill her at the beginning because she was running?
I can keep going but if its like this for the first 30 minutes or so what's going to be like after that.
Stalker (2014)
Honest Review
This series is a great drama that depicts the lives of police officers who work in a division that deals with stalkers, not only does it show beautiful and strong women in a position of power it also shows that everyone has their own problems and demons that they fight with and that everyone has a past that could haunt them.
And just like almost every other TV show out there every once and a while we get to know more about the main characters and their stories which could be dark and dramatic (which by the way is a great change of the "everything is awesome, life is great" type of shows out there) and the rest of the time we get separate stories about stalking cases which they deal with on a daily bases, I mean the show is called "Stalker" after all.
Elysium (2013)
Do not waste your time nor money on this
I just finished watching this "thing" and in my opinion Matt Damon is a great actor who makes any character he plays great but the entire movie was full of plot holes, predictable, and had a very very very confusing casting choice.
First things first, the entirety of the movie is supposed to be occurring in two places; Earth, specifically America in LA and space. Sounds simple enough, but as I thought I was watching an English spoken movie it turned out to be something requiring subtitles for a considerable duration of the movie. No offence but I wasn't intending on watching a Spanish/French movie this evening.
That being said we can dive into the casting choices and the scenario of the movie. If the movie is set in LA then why is everyone speaking Spanish? even Matt Damon? I mean I can understand if all the rich people are living in space but are you implying that the poor people are those who speak Spanish? Also this movie has 5 charters with minimum lines Max (Matt Damon) his love interest, the female antagonist, and 2 male villains one of which is the sleeping agent who seems to have been breathing in helium for the entire movie which makes everything he says or does amazingly silly.
PLOT HOLES: so Kruger has a shield like technology that protects him from gun shots and other things HOWEVER Elysium doesn't seem to have the ability to use that SAME technology as a shield which makes it normal for unauthorized ships to fly in and out. 2. Kruger gets a grenade in the face... Brain remains intact, SURE. 3. Enemies enter Elysium... one would assume that they have an army of robotic soldiers... none however, are seen protecting oh only the most important building in the city which could basically resemble the pentagon in real life... 6 people took it down ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!!!! 7. Sure we don't need to know how presidents are chosen on Elysium but you make it seem like John Carlyle can pick or do whatever he wants because... well no one really knows why. 8. Finally and this's the ENDING OF THE MOVIE SPOILER: as the data in max's brain is downloaded and he dies a "heroic" death while speaking again in Spanish (which by the way I did not understand a word of, so the ending was ruined more than it had already been) all people on earth are now citizens of Elysium... So you mean the rich people would be just okay with it and everything is great now? how just how does that make any sense?! Also why didn't spider just make him self president BOOM all problems solved.
All in all I really regret the time I spent on this since it had some potential, should have watched Robo Cop instead and I hope that movie isn't terrible as well.
