Anyone who writes a bad review about this show, has not seen it from beginning to end.
When I first started watching this show, I admit I wasn't THAT intrigued. The first episode was great, then I kept watching the next episodes in the first season and felt like it wasn't really going anywhere. It seemed like just a regular case by case cop show except with a little extra pizazz of the fairytale world. However, I stuck it out and gave it a chance. Giving it a chance, was the best decision I've made with a TV show as it is now my favorite drama.
The first season doesn't have much plot, but there's a reason for that. Most of the first season is just getting to know what a Grimm is and what they do, it also gets you familiar with different types of Wesen, good and bad. Toward the end of the first season comes the first big plot twist, and there are many more to come after that.
I never understood the key and why that was important until I got into the later seasons. Then I realized, that key was a very small plot point to a much much larger plot point. That little key is pretty much just the first little thing leading up to the end of the series. Literally everything in this series is just build up to the big finale. Everything aside from the normal homocide cases just points to the end and you don't realize it until then and it all makes sense.
The entire cast is phenomenal. David Giuntoli play a perfect Nick Burkhardt and a really bad-ass Grimm. Bitsie Tulloch is fantastic and proves herself to be a bad-ass throughout the whole show no matter what situation she is. Anyone who bashes her or her character is incredibly wrong. She is by far my favorite character. She plays different personalities very well. Silas Weir Mitchell is very charming and funny as Monroe, he is such a loveable character. Bree Turner as Rosalee is also a very lovable and sweet character and makes a great contribution to team Grimm. Reggie Lee is excellent as Sgt. Wu. He is incredibly cheesy with his jokes but that's how his character is supposed to be portrayed and I love it, I find it charming and funny. Russel Hornsby as Hank also makes an excellent addition to the cast as he is a very relatable character. He is definitely the most down to earth character who is intrigued and accepting of this new and daunting world. Claire Coffee as Adalind is another character who makes the show. As much as you hate her she really gives the show what it needs. Sasha Roiz as Captain Sean Renard is a character you just have that love-hate relationship with. It's hard to decide if you love him or hate him but he is another character who really makes the show great. One last cast member worth the mention is Jacqueline Toboni who plays Trubel. She only entered the show in season 3, but continued her role until the end. Normally, I don't care for characters who enter shows in later seasons, but she is an exception. She was a character I definitely did not expect but I'm certainly glad we got her. She was a tremendous addition who really furthered the plot.
All in all, with the amazing cast, the elongated plot, the incredible amount of plot twists that always kept you on your toes, this show was definitely worth the watch from beginning to end. I cannot wait for the spin off and I'm hoping they decide to continue the story from where they left off at the very last scene of the show. 10/10
