A "rookie" becomes MVP of the season... And we will miss her
This is for Season Seven which introduced most of the world to the beautiful talented redhead known as Annie Wersching. Her first prime time role that wasn't a one shot and she went through the emotional roller coaster of playing an FBI agent who had to deal with a complex terrorist plot (or several). Among the returning crowd (Sutherland, Bernard, Rayskub, Morrison, etc) and some very talented newcomers(like Cherry Jones, Bob Gunton and Jon Voight to name three), the "rookie" not only held her own but gave a performance that deserved an Emmy. Annie however was not nominated and never was during her too short 20 year career. She by all rights should have had 20 more years. We will miss you forever Annie.

Annie and Ever.
While the performances were first rate all around, I would like to spotlight two actresses in particular. Annie Wersching (RIP) and Ever Carradine. The two , while never interacting together, brought their A games. Fact is, while the nature of their friendship at the time of filming this episode remains unclear to me, they would later star together on Marvel's Runaways and form a close bond which resulted in Ever setting up a GoFundMe for Annie's family upon her passing in January 2023.
First Ever Carradine, in her ultimate performance on 24, saving the best for last as a woman who obviously made some bad life choices and fearing for her reputation, trying desperately to save her skin and paying the ultimate price. A performance worthy of her last name. She was sadly shot by Rhys Coiro (completing his performance as one of 24's all time slimeballs) and...died.
Meanwhile Annie may have never been better as Renee was brought to her breaking point by the events that happened to her and Bauer. Her sadness toward Rosa and her anger toward Jack should have gotten Annie an Emmy nomination.
Also that final scene between Sean and Erika may have inspired Game of Thrones.

Retrospective review: in loving memory
I have decided to rewatch Season 7 of 24 due to the actress who was an unknown to 90% of the audience when this episode first aired, including me. The fandom would last for 14 years until the day she tragically left us. I am talking about Anne Marie Wersching, who memorably introduced herself as Renee Walker. Her first interaction with Bauer was tense but not nearly as confrontational as I might have remembered.
Annie more than holds her own against more seasoned performers and I remember thinking "this striking freckle faced redhead is good". Thank you Annie and if she only knew how her passing affected me, an ordinary fan....
And the comeback season begins...
The Cuphead Show! (2022)
For the younger set, but I enjoyed it
This show has throwback animation to the 1930s but the jokes have a more contemporary feel. My favorite episodes were 5 (with King Dice) and 12 (Grey Griffin is perfection as Ms. Chalice). My favorite character is the Devil.
Inside Job (2021)
Another winner in Netflix adult animated sitcoms
Like the late lamented BoJack Horseman, Big Mouth and, yes, F is for Family, this show is one you can laugh with. Character development, hilarity, conspiracy theories... What more do you want? And like the protagonist (likely), I have Aspergers (now known as high functioning autism).
Nip/Tuck: Alexis Stone II (2009)
Regarding Kelsey
The actress who played young Annie McNamara in Nip/Tuck did what several adolescent actors have done. She basically chose "retirement" from acting and went into a different profession. I swear people who talk about her are freaking perverts. She was like 15. I bet you all also freaked when the daughter from "Everybody Loves Raymond" basically quit showbiz also.
Ted Lasso: No Weddings and a Funeral (2021)
I just want to write a one word review. That word is
RICKROLL!
But no they won't let me. I guess I'll say this episode is about losing fathers. One died to begin the episode and the other was from.many years ago.
And Sambecca...
What If...?: What If... Thor Were an Only Child? (2021)
What if Thor was a party animal?
Of the seven episodes thus far, this was the most comedic. Just say Thor the frat bro comes to Vegas to have a good time. And all of a sudden everyone from Ragnarok (save Hela) comes to join, including giant non adoptive brother Loki. It takes a woman or three to clean up the mess and that is where Agent Hill, Captain Marvel and Thor's mom come in.
One more thing: Howard the Duck is great... In small doses. No Howard movies please.
What If...?: What If... Zombies?! (2021)
More Chadwick, dad jokes, a commentary on American TV and...
...Zombies?
Yes what if there were America's mightiest zombies. Fortunately a few are left to fight the Walking Dead ( yeah, wrong franchise) and while they may lose the battle they may win the war. Humor helped a grim episode. And if anyone saw a zombie Stan Lee, let me know. I missed him. Tom Holland was missing though.
What If...?: What If... Doctor Strange Lost His Heart Instead of His Hands? (2021)
Maybe I ought to rewatch
Because I couldn't get this episode. It was OK but the least favorite of the four so far. The Watcher did have more to say though, so there's that.
I will just say that the next Dr. Strange movie is going to be some scary sh*t.
Ted Lasso: Carol of the Bells (2021)
Christmas in August?
But hey with Ted Lasso it works with everyone engaging in random acts of kindness and family being made. Just heartwarming all around. And great Christmas tunes. And Hannah can sing! Give her the gosh darn Emmy and maybe another one!
Ted Lasso: Do the Right-est Thing (2021)
This may be my favorite Ted Lasso yet
What with social commentary, a fine performance by young Kiki May as Nora and Led Tasso, this one touched my heart as well as my funny bone. And yes I am a late comer to the Lasso train.
What If...?: What If... The World Lost Its Mightiest Heroes? (2021)
Bit of a come down after last week
What hurts a bit is several actors not reprising their MCU roles in this episode. But the two old guys did, including the surprise baddie of the episode. Remember that these episodes are stand alone.
What If...?: What If... T'Challa Became a Star-Lord? (2021)
Why are people hating on this?
This episode was better than Week 1 which I liked. The late, lamented Chadwick Bozeman stars in this episode which definitely had a light hearted Guardians of the Galaxy vibe. And it even features Thanos as a good guy!
Why Women Kill: The Unguarded Moment (2021)
I have to see how this bad boy ends
Which it will next week? It looks like two main characters may be biting the dust and will Lana Parrilla get another redemption arc (her Regina Mills is one of the best ever)? I'm now totally invested. Wonder if they may set up the third season story.
Loki: Journey Into Mystery (2021)
All I can say is I am all in...
...just sad that there is but one episode left. Who will Marvel get to be the ultimate Big Bad in this show?
Rick and Morty: A Rickconvenient Mort (2021)
OK so she's a radical...
And sometimes that is how it works. I'm still saying that the fossil fuel industrial complex will vote this episode down because climate change is real, people!
The Handmaid's Tale: Testimony (2021)
Justified anger?/Coincidence?
The almost final scene where the escaped handmaids are discussing what they would like to do to their former masters hit home. First, was it coincidence that it came after 1/6 because many of us that opposed the insurrection have been so angry still at those that believe in the insurrection but are told by the media on "our side" that this anger is wrong. Is there a thing as justified anger? Also coincidence?
M.O.D.O.K.: Days of Future M.O.D.O.K.s! (2021)
Who wants another season?
I do! Hulu bring us more MODOK! The show has Easter eggs galore including one in the finale that is quite entertaining.
Invincible: Where I Really Come From (2021)
Brutal, violent and happy
OK the ending may be too brutal and violent for some viewers. But I am happy that this got two more seasons.
And the Hives at the end...oh yeah!
If Anything Happens I Love You (2020)
The saddest 12 minutes ever put to celluloid?
Or whatever. Not a word was spoken and I saw this on Netflix after "Two Distant Strangers" after both won well deserved Oscars. Two things very American. Sadly.
Harley Quinn: Lovers' Quarrel (2020)
This is for the previous episode
The one with the prologue and epilogue by Frank the plant. I say, listen to the plant! This shoe deserves awards.
Family Guy: Customer of the Week (2021)
Stewie has a point
Great in small doses. But Stewie having a good point about "Spider Man Into the spider verse" being the best Spider Man film....
Spoiler Alert: it is.
WandaVision: Previously On (2021)
Welcome to the MCU...
Bryan Cranston (kinda). But all the love for Elizabeth Olsen (now the Olsen twins will be like Justine Bateman and Donnie Wahlberg ) how about some for Kathryn Hahn?
WandaVision: Now in Color (2021)
Left turn.
Things just got interesting. Just watch the show, alright?
