Fresh take on the worn revenge genre.
1 May 2022
A very dark tale that effectively takes the conventions of the revenge thriller genre and molds them in a unique way. These elements culminate in a bold and emotional study of grieve and the devastating actions it can lead too. Well worth your time!

Great script! This writer is going places.
5 April 2022
Although this isn't really my type of movie I was most surprised at the quality of the writing. This is a stellar script and I believe this writer is going places, without a doubt the best and most impressive thing in this film. The dialogue was so good it almost felt at odds with the film in some moments. Witty character interactions galore, this also has astute satire, genuinely endearing character moments, not least from the central protagonist who is thoughtout teetering on the edge of catastrophe in everything he does. And the performances really hold their own which allows the dialogue to flourish even more. My criticisms would be the somewhat pasted in rolling background soundtracks, I would have much preferred an interesting soundscape/sound design to allow the awkward comedy to do its thing. Also I feel that the staging often felt static, no one really moves while they are talking so the film is 90 percent static conversations... Great conversations, but I thought it would definitely benefit from more dynamic blocking. All that said I feel that we are watching a class A writer in his early years, and I have no doubt that we will be seeing much larger TV shows and movies helmed by this writer in the near future.

Feel good heart warmer!
2 April 2022
Loved this film! Genuinely endearing characters, sharp and witty sense of humour. Rude but not crass or vulgar. I just grew to like these characters and their interactions more and more as the film went on, ending with a fantastically feel good ending.

Enjoyable coming of age comedy!
2 April 2022
This worked for me quite a lot because I liked the characters, the comedy was quite well judged and I saw some very recognisable situations and interactions there, took me back to my own teenage years. Crack a few beers for this one!

This is the season of the witch!
1 April 2022
I found this to an enjoyable little witch film, quite endearing as the cast and filmmakers clearly had a great time making this. It dabbles with the dark history of witchcraft while maintaining quite and entertaining pace throughout. I would watch this is a group with some beers.

An unsung masterpiece!
31 March 2022
It's a crime that this hasn't been reviewed by more people. This is an epic tale of life, loss, sin & redemption, with stunning cinematography and art direction transporting you back in time. The film is equally as heartbreaking as it is heartwarming which is very fine line to balance.

Fun 80s throwback!
31 March 2022
Really enjoyed this 80s horror/thriller throwback. Great electro music, very nice cinematography and lighting, and delivered on the genre staples with more class than sleaze, which I appreciated.

Witty, sexy fun!
31 March 2022
A real good time with a witty sensibility about its subject matter, deconstructing it whilst enjoying the sexy flare that comes with it. The plot also has some nice surprises and the performances are good. Definitely worth a watch, probably with some beers.

A series of increasingly uncomfortable events!
30 March 2022
A very interesting and deeply uncomfortable film. This has a unique blend of an intense relationship drama, in the vein of Blue Valentine, with major horror vibes. It plays with the 'isolated couple in the woods' sub-genre of horror in very effective ways, as the deterioration of the central couples relationship is set against the backdrop of paranoia and a potentially malevolent external force. Scenes are given lots of time to develop, usually slowly spiralling to a point of pure excruciating discomfort, that on occasion I actively had to stand up from my sofa and do a silly little walk around my living room. The line between well executed direction, performance improvisation and a naturalistic script is blurred to a point that I don't know where to put my compliments. All of those things I guess. Standout performance for me was Nick Pages-Oliver, such a great presence. Only criticism, I probably could have stayed in this world an extra 20 mins or so. Well done to the filmmakers involved.

Surprisingly interesting!
14 May 2020
The subject matter here is right up my street, I know it might not be for everyone but the ideas of the film resonated with me and I definitely found them intriguing. As the film continued I was very surprised by how the story developed so best going in not knowing anything. You'll be thinking about this movie long after its over

Intense and interesting independent film
9 May 2020
Such an intense and interesting independent film. The visuals are very effective and although low budget, it's striving for something greater, with a very effective atmosphere. Take a chance on this one you you won't regret it!

Really enjoyable found footage fair, it's funny and likable on once side and incredibly creepy on the other. Love the exploration of the back story and the slow building dread. Great flick!

A real good time
28 April 2020
I saw this after seeing the filmmaker's other film 'Confessions of a Producer' in which this mini series features. Having seen that first, it set me up for a real good time. I already had a fondness for the central performer and an understanding of the tongue in cheek sensibility. Crack open a beer and double bill this mini series with the previous film, you'll be in for a wild ride.

If you like this sort of show, you'll love this!
26 April 2020
Watched this with the Mrs and although not usually my cup of tea, can't deny it was put together extremely professionally and the creators have clearly created a show that works on multiple levels. Crucially giving you an insight into the trials that Miss Multiverse contestants must faces whilst showing the emotion and passion that drives them. You certainly root for these ladies and commend their commitment. If you like this sort of show, you'll love this!

Very interesting and well made!
26 April 2020
Very interesting and well made independent feature. There is clear vision here from Director Noor Gharzeddine, from how she orchestrates the scenes and to the terrific performances she has drawn from the actors. Visually it's very well thought out and beautiful, and ultimately the dark humour works incredibly well with the over all tension the rest of the film holds.

Brilliant balancing act of realism and entertainment
26 April 2020
A brilliant balancing act of realism and entertainment. Performances here are really something, especially by the lead. We'll be seeing him very soon in bigger productions I have no doubt. Subtlety and emotion is the key here and a very tricky thing to get right.

Informative and inspirational
26 April 2020
Such an inspirational documentary delving into the horrors of chronic pain that a variety not individuals experience together, we hear accounts from these people at different points throughout their lives...but, the film takes a turn in the most inspiring of ways. Won't say much more but it really was ultimately uplifting.

Worth checking out with Beers and friends!
25 April 2020
If you're a zombie fan you'll be able to appreciate the ambition here. It's true you've probably seen better but you've definitely seen worse. This film actually has ideas and is playing with what we've become used to seeing in zombie movies. The titular characters make up is great, as well as his performance and there is nice amounts of action that satisfies. Worth checking out with some beers and friends.

Foreboding atmospheric thriller with comedic elements!
25 April 2020
Definitely a suprise and not what I was expecting, there is some comedic elements but largely it was a foreboding atmospheric thriller with some actual subtlety in terms of character and performance. This is something usually lacking from independent productions and was really nice to see here.

Stunning little thriller!
25 April 2020
One of those independent films that needs more recognition! A terrific genre piece with brilliant performances across the board and fascinating and poignant premise steeped in social commentary. The blurred lines of right and wrong in law enforcement are thoroughly explored in this stunning little thriller!

Really decent documentary
25 April 2020
Really decent documentary. I watch a lot of documentaries in this genre and no matter how many I watch I still get the same sense of wonder. The cases discussed might not be groundbreaking but the subject matter is just as engaging as ever. The sad truth of this genre is again there's no definitive answers here, but the questions as still so interesting!

Such a good time! I cracked open the beers for this one, small budget and varied special effects but that just adds to it's tongue in cheek charm! I laughed a lot at the multitude of inventive creatures we get to see and will definitely be showing others.

A beautiful watch!
20 April 2020
This is a beautiful watch. Very rarely do you get such a well observed faith based movie that doesn't impose beliefs but offers them to you. Feel free to take this movie's hand and you'll be rewarded enormously!
