Boyhood (2014)
Capture a Moment
This movie was able to capture a moment in time and preserve it for as long as digital media will be accessible (and possibly longer). Having grown up near this time frame and being around 20-23 now, I can say that the movie took a very precise look at the time and hit it perfectly. The style of filming that the film underwent has already made its place in the history books, but the detail and ability to capture the actual human life (more than just the boy, the other characters that were developed are just as important) was truly spectacular. Life is wonderful, hurtful, scary, and ever-changing and this film has captured all of this in the best possible way. Groundbreaking
Moms' Night Out (2014)
Christian oriented
I'll give this movie a 2 because of the fact that it was refreshing to watch a movie that wasn't all sexed up like the rest although it lacked content (maybe enough to make one episode of a bad TV show). The movie consistently shoves religion at the viewers and implies that fathers are incompetent and can't do anything without the mother. The critics really were right when it comes to the movie and I really don't see it appealing to anyone other than Christian families that believe mothers should care for the children, do the house work, and only once in a very great while can they spend a night out that may not work (telling which way it goes would be a spoiler, but you probably wont want to see the movie anyway).
