Windy City Rehab (2019)
This show is actually really fun & satisfying
I don't know anything about design, architecture or flipping houses - except for what I learn from watching HGTV. Windy City Rehab is my favorite due to it's pace, her taste in design & Ari's amazing touches & solutions. He has come thru in a snap in more than half the episodes. I've had fun watching this with family too as it has no real negativity. It's been heartwarming getting a peek more into her personal life and with struggles such as the fallout with Donovan, to the see her comeback - she is an overcomer! It would be great if she was able to take requests and help people like me with house remodel issues but for now her show fits nicely and I'd like to personally thank her for her willingness to do the show for us to all enjoy.
Conan O'Brien Must Go (2024)
It's a Conan O'Brien show. Enough said.
This man is a TRUE legend! 👑 Anything he touches is comedy gold. Me and my kids will be watching and I look forward to the memories & tons of laughs we will share. Thank you Conan 🙏 for all the joy you bring to the world 🌎💫
His contributions to The Simpsons is what has made that show so unique & has stood the test of time, when it comes to the classics, you know those first seasons are so good because of Conan's masterful touch. Watching his Conan O'Brien (late night) talk shows, on network then cable television, provided me great comfort during some of the most difficult times of my life! Please keep giving us any varieties of your art as long as you can & know you are adored worldwide.
Late Show with David Letterman (1993)
Classic
This show was a big part of the lil bit of happiness in my childhood into adolescent years. Glad David stuck with it as long as he did and I'll almost miss the routines & excitement for the next show! Most of the interviews were entertaining as they did not feel scripted or forced. He handled any awkward moments beautifully. So many guests you could tell were genuinely wanting to be there. Never felt like it was a waste to watch & always felt guilty if it was a rerun & I chose to watch Jay Leno that night. The "Top 10" list skits were so amusing and I absolutely loved the surprises they more often than not contained, like when a surprise guest popped out from behind the curtain to read them instead of it just being David (one of my faves was Eminem! <3) TV & especially late night is not the same anymore and will NEVER top what we experienced in the 80s & 90s (started in the 40s!!).
Saturday Night Live: Natasha Lyonne/Japanese Breakfast (2022)
Really, SNL?
For a season finale - what a DISAPPOINTMENT - and overall, Kate McKinnon and Pete Davidson deserve a better sendoff. The ENTIRE episode of sketches were so disappointedly lame, boring, and predictable that I found myself ending Saturday with a sad feeling instead of my normal content or satisfied disposition.
The only funny " " sketch was the recurring "Guy who just bought a boat" skit - and I had to dig for those mini chuckles. Also super mid was the Weekend Update with a letdown of no usual end of season 'joke swap' between Colin & Che. Gosh dang it I miss the late 90s early 2k SNL cast & writers! Praying (but not hard) for a robust comeback for season 48...maybe this will be the year they get it right, again. Otherwise I might have to just quit you SNL. There's a lot of streaming in the sea. Hoping that's not the case since SNL has been a part of my life since I was a child & would sneak out to living room to watch it.
