House of Gucci (2021)
Boring and over long
I don't need action packed movies. I like dramas and I can deal with a slow burn, but this movie beyond slow. I just can't imagine anyone actually liking this. It's a shame because there are many talented actors in this movie. As a side note Jered Leto is unrecognizable as Paolo.
Elvis (2022)
Absolute perfection
Austin Butler is mesmerizing as Elvis! It was almost as if he was channeling him. Baz couldn't have made a better choice. I've been a fan of Austin Butler since "The Shanara Chronicles", but he has out done himself here. The moves, the voice, the gyrating out of this world.
Tom Hanks as Colonel Tom Parker is also very good, as always.
Baz Lurman, the director, can be flamboyant at times, but overall did an excellent job.
I intend to see it again and I highly recommend it whether you're an Elvis fan or not.
Btw, I cried at the end even though I knew what was coming. That's how good it is.
...and people! Don't leave any spoilers without a warning.
Pam & Tommy (2022)
No judgment here
You don't have to like these people or their lifestyle to appreciate that they are entitled to their privacy. Obviously they love each other very much and are devoted to each other. Give them a break.
Midnight Mass (2021)
A masterpiece
I've seen a number of Mike Flanagan's movies and series. This is by far the best that he has done. It is unfortunate that this was billed as a horror story because it is so much more. It tackles issues such as faith, philosophy, the cosmos and eternal life. It also fleshes out the characters so that you really care about them. I've seen it 4 times (not something that I usually do) and I still cry at certain parts. I will be revisiting this from time to time. 🕯
For the people who complained about the dialogues and monologues just stick with action movies. I loved the religious and philosophical discussions. It adds so much depth to the story. Father Paul and Bev in particular were spot on. I had to laugh when Bev started quoting Leviticus. How many Christians can even do that?
Bridgerton (2020)
I don't understand all the hate
This is a beautiful fantasy and a great romance. It was a little disconcerting at first to see all of the diversity, but it wasn't long before I could just enjoy it for what it was. Rege-Jean Page is a dream boat and I couldn't get enough of him. I went back and watched Roots and For The People just so I could see more of him. I wasn't disappointed. I also watched SNL when he was the host. I can't wait for The Gray Man and D & D to come out.
The Long Hot Summer (1985)
Saw original and this remake and this is much better.
I saw this mini series when it first came out and I was enthralled. I was not a Miami Vice fan so it wasn't Don Johnson who attracted me to it. I went in not knowing anything about it. That was when I realized Don Johnson's sex appeal. The love scene between Ben and Noel was the best that I have ever seen, but all the actors were terrific.
I found the whole movie on YouTube and watched it again today. It was just as great as the first time around.
Stockholm (2018)
Pleasantly surprised
I didn't know what to expect from this film, but I have heard of Stockholm Syndrome and this story is where the term comes from. It reminded me of a Kohen brothers film, funny and absurd. Watch this little gem. You'll be glad you did.
American Gods (2017)
Totally hooked
I have watched 3 seasons of American Gods and I can't wait for the 4th. I also read the book during season 3. Neil Gaiman (the author) has an amazing imagination and the show does the book justice.
The Trial of the Chicago 7 (2020)
The injustice. Unbelievable
This movie is riveting. I was young at this time so I didn't know a lot about the riots at the Democratic convention. I got a history lesson from this movie that on several occasions brought tears to my eyes. I know quite a few people who were in Vietnam, a war that should never have happened and a draft that should never have happened. So many young people died for nothing.

Get a grip folks
This ipure fantasy, not to be taken seriously.
My only issue is that I couldn't always understand the dialogue, sometimes bc of the accents, sometimes bc of the music.
Overall I liked it a lot. We need more erotic movies. Are you listening Netflix?

Bølgen (2015)
Great
Great disaster movie. They made it for $5 million dollars. Hollywood would cost $100 million.
