Brooklyn Nine-Nine (2013)
Nine Nine!!
This show provided me with a way out of daily sorrow...watching the last season was truly a pleasure and I am really sad it has ended.
Thank you B99 for all the laughs...
Avengers: Infinity War (2018)
A great watch. Even as a stand alone movie
I have watched this movie several times now. And I am glued to the screen each time. The set pieces are beautifully rendered and the details in the costumes are phenomenal.
Thanos is probably the best villain the Marvel universe has seen. After 6 years of teasing...He is really worth the wait. He is dealing with his own demons as he inflicts his 'balanced' universe theory on our superheroes.
Our heroes...what can I say. After growing up with the original 6 from 2008 it is so good to see how they have come. They have matured and so have we as an audience.
For those who have not followed all the Marvel movies...this movie is a brilliant stand alone movie.
The Choice (2016)
Morals and Ethics do not matter as long as you are 'meant to be'
I saw this a few months back and recently I watched an older Nicholas Spark- novel - turned-movie. I must say the common human behavioral characteristics involved in his movies are one of lies, deception and unfaithfulness.
This movie above is no different, Gabby is a feisty medical student and Travis is an easy going vet. Gabby already has a long term relationship with a doctor with whom she cheats on, this is justified because 'fate' has chosen this to be.
This disregard for moral standards shows itself in the movie, the dialogue is very planned and almost seems unnatural for Palmer (who hides her natural accent very badly) to deliver her lines in a convincing manner, the movie tries to hide this with the usual exposing of female physique and the mid-movie romp between the main characters. Walker was a lot less convincing and overplayed his role as a Southern smooth talker and his haircut did not do him any favors there.
This is your typical Nicholas Spark big screen movie...too long and too predictable.
Rudderless (2014)
A movie that will provoke us to think about consequence
I must admit, I was planning to be on my cellphone while watching this but I decided that I had to pay tribute to the late Anton Yelchin. I was shockingly surprised at how much I enjoyed this movie. Billy Crudup is good as he usually is but Yelchin was good, he made the movie more sincere I thought. Fishburne was a nice little addition to the cast that gave the movie a bit more star power.
I say this is a movie to think about consequence but we never really understand what our actions will give birth to later on in our lives. We think that we are just living individually but this movie shows that what we do echoes on for a long time. The son's actions had a very big wave of consequence and this was felt throughout the movie by Crudup's character, you always got and uneasy feeling of restlessness from him and this is what made Crudup so good, he embodied what it would be like to be the father or someone who committed such a heinous act. If it was not for this he would not have found his love for music or the perspective it provided in a rough time of his life.
This is not so much a review I know but if anyone is struggling with a life decision I think 'Rudderless' is a great movie to watch.
