A Very Moving Story
7 March 2020
An absolutely amazing story that starts off as some kind of a mystery and turns into a very loving story. I was stunned at all the wonderful performances and a script so well written it simply has no equal in theme. One of the best TV (or otherwise) movie I have seen in a long time. Thank you Youtube for being a source that has allowed me to not miss out on so special an experience as this movie turned out to be ....

Self Aware, Does It Again
22 December 2018
I personally thought this was a great movie, along the lines of the 1983 classic "Wargames" (my favorite in the genre), 2008 "Eagle Eye" and for the true movie fan the 1970 "Colossus: The Forbin Project" ... A strong story line (even if not original) and good acting makes this a pleasure to watch. Although it is not the best in the film idea it is a watchable movie that won't disappoint. Include a final 60 seconds of the movie that threw me for a loop and I will be watching this one again

Just Off The Corner Of Reefer and Madness
12 September 2018
There was no horror in this movie, but I still thought it was really good, it has a documentary made in the 70's style that was done well with the "educational" beliefs of a "Reefer Madness" documentary. It also has a sly element of humor (morbid as it may have been) and watching it in this era I got the same enjoyment as if I was watching "Reefer Madness" or other exploitation movies of the 30's. I believe that this is exactly what the makers of the movie were shooting for and they hit it right on the mark ... Insane as it may sound I thought this was a good time

Apparently What's Good For The Goose ....
12 January 2018
Just want to make clear my rating is based on color, animation and the cohesiveness of the story. I without a doubt find it very disturbing that Disney would use the very same tactics in this cartoon to indoctrinate us (against Germans) as the cartoon clearly depicts the Germans used on their children (against Americans) ...

Well Worth Watching ...
11 January 2018
Absolutely an outstanding movie. "A Stranger In Town" has laughs, fun moments, drama, tension and manages to keep it all lighthearted enough to make it an enjoyable movie for one and all. Frank Morgan (Wizard Of Oz 1939) is excellent as a vacationing Supreme Court Justice who stumbles into a corrupt town's government. Richard Carlson (Hold That Ghost 1941) is just as good as a small town lawyer trying to right a system gone wrong. The supporting cast is equally as entertaining (Jean Rogers, Porter Hall, Robert Barrat, etc...) in this great, great movie. While the director Roy Rowland (Dr. Seuss's The 5,000 Fingers Of Dr.T. 1953) is new to me, it is a marvelous job of direction on his part that also helps to make this an A movie for me.

The classic "I'm The Barber of Seville" episode. As far as I am concerned this is the crowning achievement of the Rascals' career. The story is simple and funny, while the music is just plain entertaining. The director of the show Alfalfa goes to see and later in his dream throws him out into the street to sing is Henry Brandon. You may recognize Henry Brandon as "Barnaby" the heartless landlord in the classic Laurel and Hardy movie "The March of The Wooden Soldiers". This is just a great episode and seeing it in color was a pleasure ...

The First Time I Knew Anything About The Shoot Out At The OK Corral Was On (Get Ready For This) An Episode Of Star Trek The Original Series Called "Spectre Of The Gun" ... Then I Saw John Sturges' "Gun Fight At The OK Corral" And Thought Wow What A Movie, Then I Saw John Ford's "My Darling Clementine" And Thought It Was Better Than (And It Turns Out More Historically Correct) "Gunfight At The OK Corral" ... Now We Have "Frontier Marshal" And I Am Once Again Thinking Wow What A Movie ... Randolph Scott Plays Wyatt Earp And Cesar Romero Plays Doc Halliday And The Combination Is Excellent ... While The Story Does In Small Ways Veer Off The Actual Events It Is None The Less A Great Story ... Allan Dwan's Direction And Attention To Detail Is Exceptional ... Bit Parts By Eddie Foy Jr (Playing Himself), Lon Chaney Jr, John Carradine Make This Cast Icing On The Cake ... The Movie Has A Powerful "Film-Noir" Quality That I Have Never Seen In A Western ... A Great Way To Spend 98 Minutes
3 September 2017
Warning: Spoilers
A Freaking Fantastic Movie With Well Plotted Suspenseful Moments ... Jean Simmons Is Excellent As The Trusting, Loving Niece (Caroline Ruthyn) ... Derrick De Marney Is Equally As Good As The Loving, Caring (We Know From The Very Beginning Up To No Good) Uncle Siras ... Even Though We Know What The Characters Are Up To This In No Way Takes Away From Their Performances ... The Combination Of Uncle Siras, His Son And Their Governess Seem To Be More Than Caroline Will Be Able To Handle On Her Own ... The Setting Is Excellent For This Story And The Props Add Greatly To The Story ... Of Special Note For Me Was The Handling Of The Camera, Angles And Motions Were Used That I Had Never Seen Before And Gave The Movie A (At Times) Kind Of Overwhelming Feeling Of Hopelessness ... If You Ever Get A Chance To Catch This One Don't Pass It Up ...

The Story Runs The Whole Of The Daily Life In A World Where The Poor Pray On Each Others ... Gerald Sim (Mr Conrad) Is Excellent As The Social Services Worker Who Has Adjusted To Mrs Ross' Imagination Yet Has Not Given Up On Her As A Human Being ... It Could Have Been Worse
23 August 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Please Bare With Me For A Moment ... For A Movie That Takes Place In A Small Town There Are (I Think) Less Than 10 People In The Town, No Shoppers, People Parking A Car, Pedestrians, Etc ... The Only People In The Town Are Part Of The Story ... The Acting Is Horrendous, Form The Dialog To The Silly Expressions On Their Faces ... A Few Moments Where The Pace Of The Movie Drops To A Crawl ... But The Story Was Not Bad At All, The Intrigue Was Written Well Into The Story ... Enough Happens Through Out The Story That Made Me Think "Wait How Can That Be" ... It Kept Me Watching To See What Happened Next ... The Movie Even Managed To Surprise Me At The End With The "Knight" Who Saves The Damsel ... Yes Everything About This Movie Could Have Been A Thousand Times Better But For A Low Budget, No Name Or Experienced Actors And In All Likelihood A Writers First Time Out, It Could Have Been Much Much Worse ...

Holy CRAP This Was A Great Movie ... Was The Acting Any Good "WHO CARES" This Wasn't About Good Acting It Was About Jumping Out Of My Seat Over And Over ... The Movie Does Well With The Whole "Things Coming Out Of Nowhere Suddenly" Style ... The Inside Location For The House Was Great As It Had A Look That Added To The Feel Of The Movie ... The Deaths Are Gory And Played Off Well ... The Movie (I Thought) Did A Great Job Of Making The Hairs On The Back Of Neck Stand Up In Anticipation Of What Was Around The Next Hallway ... The Icing On The Cake Is That The End Of The Movie Has A Twist That Maybe I Should Have Seen Coming But The Movie Kept Me Edgy Enough To Not See It Coming ... "Bravo" ... This Movie Is My Definition Of Horror - It Starts With Something Horrific, Keeps Dishing Out Horrific Stuff And Ends With Something Even More Horrific ...
