A Man in Full (2024)
Ended as it should
Watched as the bankers aimed to destroy Cahrlie, lead by Raymond. Charlie is arrogant real estate tycoon who sounded alike like a former president/ real estate tycoon. The main protagonist, an employee who felt he was belittled by his boss aims to destroy him, is a bitter little man who obviously deserved to be put down. This is a David E. KELLY PROJECT that displays high quality development of the characters. Nothing in the production seems to have been skimmed. Many NETFLIX productions have gone on for numerous episodes with changing points of the story to end up with a totally unacceptable or unbelievable ending. Unlike Ozark, this series ended as it should.
The Departed (2006)
Just great
Think I have watched this movie at least 4 or 5 times.
Scorsese has put out some of my favorite movies. Another great one "Goodfellas" recently "The Irishman " People forget to include his work on "Boardwalk Empire"
So many of his films include Robert DeNiro, this one has Jack Nicholson who comes off as "Jack" from "The Shining". Leonardo DiCaprio has definitely developed into a true adult actor. As the story goes you get to despise his character. What would a story centered on Boston be without a Wahlberg. Sheen, Anderson and Baldwin all do standingly good jobs.
I only noticed what I would call an "Easter egg" this most recent viewing.
The apartment Sullivan enters is 711. We know what happens at the craps table when you roll 7 or 11.
Jack Reed: One of Our Own (1995)
Disappointment
They are supposed to be partners. Why is one on duty and the other is not? Cliche after Cliche. A boy's troop competitive shooting? Dennehy seems too old to be a detective still on the job. Since when does a police officer take a "target" into his home as protection. If she is being targeted, now his whole family is in the line of fire, and no additional police protection setup. Cold-blooded killer crying in police custody. After first 5 minutes, don't know why I am still watching this dud. Bad guy gets a phone call that is going on his answering machine tape, and what does he do, he breaks the machine with a exercise weight.
Collateral (2004)
Don't know where the 10's came from.
Actually read the lengthy 1 star reviews and they were right on target.
The end was fairly obvious from the beginning. Lots of action that seemed like action for actions sake.
It's amazing how in several shooting scenes no cops are seen or heard responding to the "shots fired"
It's one thing to understand that witnesses or informants would be on the hit man's list, but why would the prosecuting attorney be on such a list. The opening argument for a couple in the cab was nothing more than something to add time to the story. Why does Max try to break the glass door with a garage can when he has a gun(that he eventually uses anyway.
Pieces of Her (2022)
Ending?
Not a great movie critic, but I thought All sorts of twists weresomewhatpredictable. Flash backs got confusing. You do see characters devlope But, rhe Ending left so many lose ends, not good.
Jack Ryan: The Boy (2018)
Continuity
When the boy finishes texting his sister, he rolls over and puts his phone (?game) underneath him. The father walks in and the phone is on top of the covers on the other side off the boy.
Bloodline (2015)
What happened?
As others have noted this series was going good - - until. The third season went down hill until the last two episodes when it fell off the cliff.
The last two episodes seemed like they took all the different "strings" and instead of tying them up, rolled them into a ball and threw it at a wall to see what stuck.
SEAL Team: Time to Shine (2019)
Too many obvious technical errors.
Not to go over what has previously been mentioned, the boat went to general quarters- I am sure on a sub it's same as surface ship- all hatches and doors are closed and dogged, permission has to be granted to pass thru any door or hatch. Here they are walking back and forth between control room and torpedo room. And where are all the sub personnel whose GQ station is the torpedo room. Only been on couple of subs, but the watertight doors on all were small.
