Law & Order: Special Victims Unit: Service (2018)
Overall concerning
Rollins is pretty bad in this ep- saying what she does about working girls. Nothing about her is redeemable in this, she clearly hasn't learned anything from 7 years on the job.
Wayne Knight was a funny addition to the episode. Glad to see him back on tv since it's been awhile since Seinfeld.
Plot was thought provoking but a story like this makes me miss Barba.
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit: Dissonant Voices (2013)
Very ooc
Benson was disappointing in this ep. Especially the ending "how could we have been wrong" theme. They messed up, but they get to rationalize it, while a man's life is forever ruined.
While Benson usually has good instincts, she blindly follows the accusations of the boys without real thought or consideration.
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit: October Surprise (2013)
One of my fav episodes
Themes of culture and childhood ties bind this story. It was refreshing to see the human side of Barba.
It was a nice dressing on a "ripped from the headlines" scandal that often rocks the SVU world. But this time it was a man of color, with direct ties to a member of the team. While the ADAs aren't police, their insight and valuable friendships are part of what drive the show.
The casual usage of Spanish/Spanglish showed how high stakes and emotional the stakes were.
Cool to see Burr (Leslie Odom Jr.) return for a bit, amusing to see him vouch for a perv with a "zipper problem"
Although it's disappointing to not see the conclusion of the trial, it was a solid ending.
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit: Poisoned Motive (2013)
No sympathy
Rollins gets shot as a way to hurt Fin.
But there wasn't much about her performance that made me feel sorry for her. It would've been better to bring back Munch. He had Fin had more chemistry.
Nothing about the shooter makes viewers sympathetic to her situation. She's just someone who can't accept a bad situation. The actress tries, but this role was too demanding. She doesn't have the emotional range to evoke a response from the audience.
Ice-T does ok as the hero, he listens to the team when they have concerns and reacts calmly and appropriately.
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit: Girl Dishonored (2013)
The team does it right
This is by far the best ep of the season in terms of how the team handles the situation and themselves.
It's def one for people who don't know where to start watching.
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit: Deadly Ambition (2013)
Decent writing
This is quite possibly one of the most frustrating episodes. Writing isn't bad but the characters make very flawed decisions so this is pretty awful to watch.
Kim deserves prison. Amanda needs to stop being a mom to her sister and let her fail. Nothing about either sister is good or enjoyable. I'll be happy watching Amanda leave the show. Someone with that poor judgment shouldn't be allowed to be a cop.
Tucker is a 2 dimension enemy. Just a typical IA character who plays the necessary bad guy.
Nick is easily manipulated by women. But he does the right thing in the end.
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit: Dreams Deferred (2012)
Gross over stepping for the sake of "doing what's best"
This episode had all the potential to be a great team up of SVU and FBI. Instead this ends with the feds leaving a woman without money and leads the team to be the saviors and wrap it all up in a feel good ending.
