Was looking forward to this.
17 September 2020
Warning: Spoilers
When I saw the trailer I was realy looking forward to this series. Hearing it was an adaptation of a game made me expect something like castlevania.

After the first episode I was intrigued and was ready to bingewatch the show. The graphics however, fell off. Don't know what's wrong but it just didn't feel right.

The second episode was still good, after this it all went downhill real quick. The episodes just felt random, there was no plot it was just a random enemy per episode but their was no story in it. You can watch epsiode 1,2 and 7 and get the same story as when you watch all of the episodes.

It's sad, I honestly believe this series could be great, I just didn't feel it. I realy wanted more of a story instead of standalone episodes.

Nothing new

The acting is okay but the plot is nothing new. If you are looking for the usual action movie, this is a good one. Just don't expect great plot.

a thity-minute music video
27 May 2019
Not much of a short movie, more like a thirty-minute music video. Funny and catchy tracks make enjoyable to watch. No deep lyrics, but that doesn't matter in this comedy rap genre.

What else did you expect from The Lonely island? They always make you have a good time.

Comedy rap? More please! Worth the watch!

Don't expect an amazing plot
26 May 2019
Warning: Spoilers
First of all, some reviews here are harsh.

The movie doesn't have that much of a plot beside bringing A key from point a to point B. Surviving an alien "invasion" ( I only saw one alien and two dogs, which doesn't look like an invasion to me). The moment you think something is going to happen later in the movie, it will. It's that predictable.

In between there are some jokes, highly inappropriate for a movie which targets teens, the jokes are forced and don't come over that well because they are made by well.... kids.

The acting wasn't great either, none of the actors convinced me or sucked me into the movie. The graphics were okay, I don't think this was a that expensive movie.

Overall the movie is good when you have nothing to do or if you want to watch a brainless movie. If you're looking for a great story, I suggest you to look for another movie.

A western movie that makes you want to live it.
22 November 2018
The Ballad of Buster Scruggs is a movie by the Coen brothers (known from Fargo, A Serious Man, ...) The movie exists out of six short story's each dealing with a typical aspect from the life in the wild west. From finding gold to robbing banks to being an outlaw, The Ballad of Buster Scruggs has it all.

The first and final part are more like a musical. These segments really draw your attention by good acting and well written scenario's. The movie has a lot of creative shots and is filled with stunning scenery. During the movie the conversations switch between monologues and dialogues. This ensures you to keep wondering what will happen. The fourth segment might be the best acted and most beautiful of this movie. The effort it takes to find gold, and which methods gold diggers used these days are well portrayed. Some segments are much longer and less powerful which cause a more difficult time to keep your attention. This doesn't mean that these segments are bad, the end always makes them worth watching.

Overall the movie succeeds to show you the aspects of the wild west and sometimes even wants you to go back there. The acting was good, and music is well done. This is a movie that makes you enjoy the wild west but also makes you feel that life wasn't that easy back then. This sure has been one of the best westerns I saw and can be compared to Deadwood and Godless.

The Shannara Chronicles (2016–2017)

The Shannara Chronicles 2
22 November 2018
Decent story with Gorgeous visuals

The Shannara Chronicles season 2 continues the quest of the Shannara Will and his friends. This season got some new characters, and again we got treated by some gorgeous visuals. The acting sometimes is a little bit off, but this doesn't bother that much. This season they somehow found it necessary to overuse blood.

Season 2 wasn't better than the first, this seasons new actors their acting wasn't that good. It feels like some of the characters have been casted by looks instead of skills. Yes, I'm talking about Vanessa Morgan. Other actors, old and new, did a great job. The action in this season was okay. Some were good, some were bad. The final scene was... bad. They could have finished this season on a great note, instead they somehow left us disappointed. The use of blood was just disturbing this season. One cut doesn't cause a waterfall of blood. This overuse made it sometimes hard to watch because it was just too much and unrealistic. The visuals were stunning, the city's, landscapes, caves all were looking great. They really made you want to be there in that world (Okay, maybe not. Who wants to be surrounded by demons, right?). The creatures in this season also looked more "realistic" then those we saw in season one. The warlock lord just looked great and cruel.

Overall this season was not better than the first one. Still this show is great and fun to watch. Hopefully we get someone to pick it up for a third season.

Iron Fist (2017–2018)

Iron Fist Season 2 Much improved yet not at full potential.
21 November 2018
The second season of Iron Fist starts some months after the end credit of season one, and a few weeks after the defenders. Just as we expected this season is about broken and renewed relationships between friends and family. Danny Rand, the immortal iron fist, tries to follow in Matt Murdock's footsteps. Which might be harder for him then he knows. Saving the city isn't the hardest problem he must face this season. Friends become enemies, family bonds are broken, and some enemies even become friends. At first this season has a lot of potential 'bad guys' but after some episodes it becomes clear which way the story will go. These twists seem very risky, some will like it while others might roll their eyes. The acting this season is much improved regarding the first season. We also get some new interesting characters who have an interesting storyline and background. Also, the series removed some of it's annoying go-to phrases like "I am the immortal iron fist protector of Khun-Lun". Beside that we see some great character development, which was bad in the first season. The pace this season is also a lot faster which makes it more fun to watch and keeps you at the edge of your seat sometimes. Overall this season was good but could have been better. We see a lot of potential for a Tirth season, which sadly won't be made any time soon.

The true power of friendship.
4 August 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Wet Hot American Summer: Ten years later. After i watched the prequel I was really looking forward to the sequel. Did it disappoint? No not for me. I can understand people don't like this show because it is just weird, but it is fun.

The cast was good ( for the most part still the same) but i did had a hard time with recognizing people. I should have watched to movie or prequel again before watching this series. Anyway, after a couple of episodes i was back.

What i really liked about this show was the ending. They make 7 episodes ( this series only) to build up a story and at the end it is totally wrong and different. Love the message in the series that friendship is really important.

I would recommend this to people who are into overacting comedy shows. And the people who loved the previous WHAS.

(would be nice if they played higher and higher at the end.

Fargo: Buridan's Ass (2014)
Season 1, Episode 6
All about planning
29 April 2017
Warning: Spoilers
So far, this was the best episode of this season. It was very intense and had a fast pace.

We see Lester changing. At first he was a guy who didn't stand up to other people and now we see him escaping the hospital to save his own skin. Lester keeps growing in this series, which is awesome.

Finally we know what Lorne his plan is. We could have guessed it but that he would plan it out this carefully? In this episode we see that this isn't the first time Lorne does this kind of 'jobs'. How he set up the traps and knew how everybody would react was great to see.

Our Investigators also planned Lorne his way. Trying to capture him, at least that was the plan. Again we see how Lorne is used to this kind of situations, escaping like it is nothing.

Molly and Gus came at the crime scene and Molly went just in, trying to get answers. Gus, who pushes his limits to finally take action, But did this fired backwards? we have to wait till the next episode.

At the end we see Stavros thinking he did what God asked. When driving back all his faith is lost.

The only negative point for me were the fish, how did they get there? Did Lorne plan this or was it nature? Will we see it in the next episode?

Overall a well deserved 10.

The end blew it
23 April 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Overall the movies was good. The cast was good, it all looked very beautiful, nice fighting scenes. Okay it was full of clichés but which movie isn't?

The movie was good until they entered the arena everything from there was just predictable. After the volcano erupted the movie ended for me. Okay you can have a lot of luck but really? this much? first Atticus that is running to the harbor, helps a girl and runs faster then that flood? and a boat blocks the only gate in that wall, really?

of course something else that was bothering me was the always returning bad guys, they were everywhere.. During every chase the ground was falling apart and fireballs crushed near them, but when they started to fight it ALL stopped. Really?

Overall the movie was good but the eruption of the volcano should have been the end for me.

Vikings: On the Eve (2017)
Season 4, Episode 19
a change of tactics
26 January 2017
Warning: Spoilers
A lot happened in this episode. Let's start with Lagertha. It was wise from her to make a defense around Kattegat. But she should have made a better strategy plan. The sides at the woods was well defended. But Come on. The coast? Vikings use their boats so much that it is almost stupid to leave the docks unguarded. But of course she had an answer ready for that.

In the viking camp there were tons of tensions in this episode. The tension between the Lothbork brothers still remains. BUT Ivar must have gained some respect after this battle. Bjorn may lead the army but Ivar sure has a genius mind for tactics. The other Tension was between Harald and Princess Ellisif. The scene about forgiveness, let's be honest.. We ALL saw that one coming. After that we saw why you need brothers who will always have your back. On the other hand I'm not that sure Harald liked it.

The scene before the battlefield was interesting we saw a different Ivar. Not the one who wants to lead but the one who contributes to the plan. And right he was. Fighting in the same position over and over again makes you predictable. But change your tactics and there is a big chance to win by the advantage of surprise. But i Think that if Ecbert would have lead the army. He would also adjust his strategy.

The end of the episode was kind of direct. I mean it was good but it was just so weird. The tension was build up real high and then 'CHAAAARGE' the end.

Overall great episode can't wait for the final episode.

Vikings: Revenge (2017)
Season 4, Episode 18
The great army has arrived
19 January 2017
Warning: Spoilers
this episode started slow but got better at the end. A lot of things happened. After that we lost Ragnar I am afraid that we might lose Lagertha too. Of course I am not sure, but with the army setting sail. That leaves her in a weak position. Anyway..

The tension between the Lothbrok brothers keeps building up. Bjorn takes the lead, and that is completely normal, he is the oldest and the most experienced. But Ivar would not be Ivar if he did not agree.

The battle scene I loved how king Aelle his face went from full confidence to totally hopelessness. At first I also thought 'is that it? the great army' but when Floki came(who looks really cool as always) I knew it was about to get real.

The one thing that makes this episode an 8 instead of a 10 is just that there is no battle.. They just skipped it. It would have been nice to see at least a little bit of the battle..

After the battle is was wondering how They know where Ragnar died because it was right there where they stopped. Anyway I loved the acting of Aelle in this episode. How he begged for his life.

The thing we had all seen coming.. The second blood eagle of vikings... and for me it was hard to watch. I don't know why but this time I had a hard time to watch how they did it. And when they hung him up for everyone to see. I just know i would lose my mind if that was my king.

overall great episode. Let's see how Ecbert will deal with this great army.

Sherlock: The Sign of Three (2014)
Season 3, Episode 2
a different Sherlock
18 January 2017
The big day is here. But can Sherlock handle it?

This episode ( really great as always) was not an usual Sherlock episode for me. Some things happened you never expected to happen in this show.

The music and scenery is great. For me this was an episode i didn't expected. The scenery was different, the story. a couple of crimes, or just one? So many questions i had during this episode. But at the end, all the pieces came together.

Season 3 is one of the strongest in my opinion. the story is always great and you can follow the way Sherlock thinks. It makes you solve the crime together with them.

One thing is sure. When you are a detective, you don't get a lot of free time.
