Madaari (2016)
Madaari is Irrfan Khan and Irrfan Khan is Madaari !
It's a gem of a movie, largely carried on by Irrfan Khan and an expressive chunk of kid (Vishesh Bansal) & grit of Jimmy Shergill (he is wasted though). The depiction of Father-Son relation is directed beautifully ...u can actually fall for them
In here Irrfan doesn't try to be the one man army fighting against the system unlike almost all vigilante justice movie, instead he lets the situation, grief and purpose drive the movie with his exceptional acting (among the best v have seen) especially the post- accident hospital sequence is gut wrenching. The dialogues carry punch and tears apart our psyche.
Nishikant Kamath's best direction after Mumbai Meri Jaan, though the movie falls short at some instances but they are well overlapped by Irrfan Khan's brilliance
If you loved A Wednesday u will admire Madaari
P.S: it is a shame that such movie will hardly gather 10% of what BRAINLESS movies earn this days... no doubt we are living in denial !!!
Captain America: Civil War (2016)
best of the lot so far !!!
First thing first Civil War can be dubbed as Avengers: 2.5 ! Though I would rate Civil War several notches above the Avengers due to its sheer brilliance. The casting is spot on, the movie seems slow at the start, but that is because Marvel let the audience to build characters in their mind and that is the best part unlike DC wherein things are hanging mid somewhere !
You can actually relate to the difference of opinions on part of Captain & Iron Man and they are ably justified. RDJ is shown a dialed down version of himself & rightly so as its a Captain America flick after all ! Chris Evans is rock solid as Captain America and the bulging biceps as shown in iconic chopper scene is sure to give some new biceps workout vows ;)
Elizabeth Olsen is almost there with Scarlet Johnson upping the hotness quotient & soothes the eyes. Ant Nan, Black Panther & Spider Man make interesting debut to the team but it is the Spider Man who steals the show irrespective of his hardly 15 Min screen time, in fact he should be a permanent member of the Avengers team in Infinity Wars 1 & 2 !
The showdown sequence at the Airport is just mind boggling and they have done that without vaporizing out whole cities & crashing down buildings unlike Avengers:2, that is when you realise that this movie does make a lot of sense.
P.S: Watch out for Stan Lee's "stank" cameo & sit through end credits for a concluding scene ;)
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)
Disappointed
I was disappointed !
The movie fails to provide depth to the characters...it all seems too haphazard & half baked due to which movie never seem to connect to the audience.
Some scenes even lack logic including the scene in the first half where superman stops batman while he was chasing Lex's consignment and will have you scratching your head, another one when Ben Afleck works out like beast including cross fit training..seriously? Cross fit training to beat Superman !!!
Ben Affleck as batman falls flat due to lack of depth to his batman, reaching nowhere near the standard set by Christian Bale as batman. The less we speak about Jeremy Irons as Alfred the better.
Jesse Eisenberg is average after what we saw of him in Social Network & Now You See Me.The only saving grace of the movie is the action, special effects & eye popping 3D effect.
May be Christopher Nolan as Director & Christian Bale as Batman may have done wonder to this average movie.
