Lasso (2017)
Bloodthirsty cowboys hunt human cattle
What an awesome surprise! We just watched the premiere at the Oakland International Filmfestival and were blown away. This movie will be an instant fan favorite ... in its deviousness reminiscent of Tucker & Dale and Peter Jackson's Braindead it delivers the most outrageous kills with sardonic consequence .. anything you can imagine doing with branding iron, cattle prod and horseshoe - the movie has it and more .. 2 points aubtracted for the cringe worthy dialogue .. it feels surprisingly sloppy given the overall care that has been put into the film (direction, camera work, production design and F/X are excellent). All in all a very funny romp. 8/10
The Pussycat Preacher (2008)
Good multi-facetted documentary
This is a very enjoyable and empowering piece of film ... it shows what positive energy can be set free if the right people decide to pursue a goal that they unconditionally believe in. The sense of belief and faith is very tangible and truly amazing for an agnostic like me.
It's also a great peek into the hypocrisy of the 'traditional' church that puts so much emphasis on conformity as opposed to just accepting a person as she is.
The film-making is very solid and style, editing and sound work extremely well to emphasize the subject. All in all the best documentary I've seen in a long time, well, maybe with the exception of 'King of Kong' :).

Awesome, gruesome, memorable!
If this movie plays in a theatre near you, you're up for a remarkable piece of cineastic art. If you can stand it. This film just crawls under your skin easily, cut by cut, and it won't let go - even days after you watched it. A lot of its incredible intensity stems from its absolute perfect cutting/editing and from a soundtrack that matches the pictures on the screen to the point. The movie use the split screen technique in a wonderfully orchestrated way, adding to the unique and in fact gruesome experience. This movie is definitely not for the faint of heart or weak of stomach ... but if you feel up to it, you'll have a great movie experience.
