Family Guy: Trump Guy (2019)
Season 17, Episode 11

What a mess of an episode
18 January 2019
If you want political humor done right, go watch South Park. While I am a conservative, I thoroughly enjoyed South Park's political bashing because it was inventive, thoughtful and creative. I watched Family Guy since the very beginning and I never minded the political jokes that they had on because most of them were funny. But this episode was an absolute mess! Even the cutaways were boring...everything about this episode was...lazy.

Divergent (2014)
1/10
Please Diverge Your Attention to Another Movie
22 December 2014
Warning: Spoilers
I had slightly high hopes for this movie when it came out, as I was relatively fond of the Hunger Games (despite my initial resilient attempt to not watch it). However, this movie lacked everything. Dull protagonists, typical villains, unbelievable setting and just an awful story line.

Tris is Divergent, which makes her the main character of this movie. Being Divergent meant that you are an individual less susceptible to societal influences. Yet when the Dauntless people got brainwashed and started marching into town, some other Divergent just got popped right in the head because he was wandering around like an idiot. So much for Divergents being important.

And seriously, Tris developed no real skill. She didn't even complete the whole training! What was it like three weeks? That's like kiddy boot camp. For kids. All of a sudden she's supposed to be some badass even though she had no developing back story to explain any skills that she may have had.

Lastly, they saved the town..why are they still running away? For dramatic effects? They just single-handedly proved that the whole "factions" nonsense doesn't work but now they're running away?

Anyways, I digress. Terrible acting, terrible script. Possibly the worst movie I've seen all year.

The Librarians (2014–2018)
10/10
Reminiscent of "Leverage"
22 December 2014
Realizing that The Librarians spawned from the same minds that created Leverage, I was not surprised (pleasantly) in seeing the resemblance between the two television shows. I loved Leverage due to its character development past the traditional "task-oriented" crack-team setup. The characters grew close with each other as the show progressed and their antics never stopped coming. I predict that the Librarians will be the same way, and I love that each character in this show has their own quirkiness about them. I also appreciated that the show's creator did not confine the Librarians to the stereotypical nerds plagued with social awkwardness and anxiety issues. These are well thought-out individuals with their own types of personalities.

Too many TV shows nowadays have dark brooding themes and serious drama within them. I appreciate that The Librarians come off as much more light-hearted, friendly, and fun. Enjoy it for its silliness and magical wonders!
