Not for me

Something tells me that I was not the intended audience for this movie. Bc people seem to like it. But I thought it was slow and I just didn't get it. Also the "violent black hood" narrative wasn't my jam.

I'm sure there are people who liked it. But just not my thing. I don't get it. The ambiance and the filming was good. But I couldn't pay attention. It was not very memorable.

I shut it off and didn't finish it.

I'm sure it was suppose to say something but wasn't it. 😃 I don't really know what else to say. I don't like the word count limit. It's soo stupid. What else can I possibly say that I haven't already said.

Meh and not cohesive

The movie felt so out of place from the series. It doesn't follow the series and I'm not really sure where it fits in the universe. Is it meant to be a whole new reimagining, but it's clearly not?

The series is pretty well done. Love the series. But the movie fell quite flat to me. It didn't have the same charm as the series. And it also felt a little rushed.

It needs some work with the plot and the story telling. If they were going to do a prequel, they should have stuck to it being a prequel. Bc the rest of the series doesn't fit with the movie.

The music was a strange choice.

There's also a lot that occurs by routine in the series that just doesn't happen in the movie.

Schitt's Creek (2015–2020)

Unexpected pure joy!

I recent the first time I tried watching it bc its was Everywhere..I did not vibe with it. I watched the first two and stopped.

Then I put it on recently and as background while I worked. As the series went on I fell in love with it. It was so funny and the characters were so likeable. The queer representation was so normal and there was joy.

My favourite part was the character growth. The moment I finished the series finally I went back and watched the first two episodes and boy these ppl were very different and unhappy ppl at the start and being away from the shallowness of the wealth allowed them to grow as people and as a family. Phenomenal.

Intolerable Cruelty (2003)

Strange pacing

This movie threw me for a loop. It was funny and good. But it had some strange pacing. No real build up to romance or anything. It's like suddenly they just were a thing.

I am truly unsure what to make of it. There seems to be major holes in the movie.

I have given it a 5 bc I like the actors. But other than that it really doesn't have much going for it.

Like how did they even fall in love? And why is a lawyer meeting with the OP client while they're represented (that could get u disbarred). He overall came across forceful and sleazy disguised as romance and wooing. But he did nothing to win her love or vice Versa, she was just hot.

The Craft: Legacy (2020)

Not bad, would have done better as a stand alone.

It actually had a decent plot and acting.

But the thing is that making it into a "craft" sequel they sell themselves short. We end up comparing this to the actual craft. Which obviously make it not very good in comparison. But the thing is, they would have had better success that way.

Also the whole "taking down the bad guy" happened too easily. It needed more fighting and drama. That's about it. But I don't think that me, a 30yr old, was the demographic for this movie. So I guess then those who have never seen the craft would have liked it anyway.

Violent Night (2022)

Christmas movie done right

You know I was very sceptical about this movie very very sceptical but end up being really good. The Santa has magic but it's not too much my joke just enough to make him both mythological creature and vulnerable like a real human.

His backstory about him being a warrior for someone expected and I really loved it. Pretty high-quality and the action was enjoyable just the right amount of bloody with the right amount of dad bod. 8/10 would watch again.

They also did a great job with the foreshadowing. They must do something similar next year and I will 10/10 watch. Maybe not a sequel tho. A sequel would ruin it.

The School for Good and Evil (2022)

I understand the whole point of the story and I understand that it's teenagers or children or whatever. But the thing is, The way they had set up the story had great potential to be lesbian romance story and the fact that they made this kiss and didn't introduce that as a possibility is disappointing.

But overall the graphics looked great, good story story and overall entertaining. It was very good with a strangely intense gore aspect in it but I liked it.

I think I would definitely recommend it to someone. Can't wait for the second movie. Which I hope will be good and not complete waste of time.

The Midnight Club (2022)

Good show

Overall it was a good show.

There was just something lacking. I feel like left a lot of questions on answered which I particularly don't enjoy because I don't think it's going to have a season two. It just feels like we opened so many avenues for the story but chose to close 30% of them only. I just wish they spend more time really giving us a concise story because that would've made the show better.

Also, I'm unsure of the ghosts we see in the house up figment of the children's imagination. I think they gave us some convoluted explanation for the ghosts but it just was not explained well. That would honestly be my only criticism.

Single All the Way (2021)

Romantic comedy

So, it was cute. But it feels like a gay caricature and the acting was a bit cringe. Feels like they're reading a script and overly dramatic. But enjoyable nonetheless.

I watched it in double speed. That should say enough.

I couldn't even get through 20 minutes of this movie. It was the most unbearable things I've seen. 20 minutes of my life I will never get back.

Jill is so unlikeable. She's unbearable. 1 Adam sandler is hard enough but 2 makes me want to shoot mysèlf.

The Woman in the House (2022)

Critics hate it but I love it

It was such a strange combo of serious and a parody. But it's also packed full of laughs.

It was so easy to forget that this was a parody at times but the sheer ridiculousness would just bring me right back.

I'm not going to lie, I did not have high hopes for this movie because I wasn't sure whether we're gonna take the plot. But I've just washed it and it's so good. The costumes are amazing! And the storytelling is pretty much great for a movie in its genre. It's so gory.

I didn't really expect myself to make it as much as I did and I regret not seeing it in the movie theatre because I think I don't really like to see it on the big screen.

The Hating Game (2021)

Wattpad come to life

It's super light hearted and funny. The chemistry was great and... THAT HEIGHT DIFFERENCE!! I died! It was perfect. Hahahaha.

Lucy is always a fun person to watch on screen. It's nice to see one of her movies doing well.

As I mentioned before, this was the ultimate wattpad novel come to life.

The Wind Rises (2013)

Amazing as always!

Miyazaki never disappoints! This was truly captivating and amazing story telling.

The art work and the script just breaths life into this universe.

The fact that this is Inspired by the true life of warplane designer Jiro Horikoski during the Second World War only makes this even more amazing.

There was a lot of discourse about "Asian representation" in this movie. Specifically Jimmy's "nerd" look.

But honestly, this was a great movie.

She is a selfish and shallow person.

Josh isn't. Though he is who we all want in a partner. And honestly it's true. There's more to a person than their looks.

I watched this today. And I was actually surprised at the degree of subtitle racism is in this. Specifically casual racism directed at Asians, mainly Chinese.

Stunning visuals, absolutely captivating! The story line was so deep and the visual storytelling is another level. It touches topics like depression and anxieties, and deals with the difficulties of growing up. I definitely think the student falling in love is relatively normal (though uncomfortable to see for western people) but it is important to understand that she didn't reciprocate the romantic feelings. She cared but platonically.

Wonder Woman 1984 (2020)

I loved the first Wonder Woman, and so I had high hopes for this one. But it just missed the Mark. The writing and the script was choppy and there was a lot of unexplained events which occurred that was confusing. And several plot holes that needed to be addressed. The music wasn't effective as expected. They didn't play her theme song when they should have. I hoped for better. Gal was so beautiful and the costume department did an amazing job.

Let's start with a positive: I did LOVE the shinigami, that cgi and character design popped off! Absolute perfection 👌 was not disappointed But that's where everything goes down hill: If you have seen the anime then you'll definitely be disappointed as I am. It was a mess. A big hot mess. They managed to take out everything that made death note good and gave it character. Also, the fact that they set it in America made is worse and whitewashed an Asian series. There is no excuse for that. Then, you have the disappointment that is light, where was the bravado and narcissism that defined light? Where is the sociopathic character development that eventually leads him to think he is a god?

A little Sexist, homophobic and somewhat unfunny. And Kevin heart was so loud and obnoxious. He is the one that ruined the movie for me. It had potential, but eventually lost the plot.
