This was an ok feel-good sports movie
8 July 2022
I enjoyed it enough, but I probably won't rewatch it like I have some of the others. It is sweet, Adam Sandler and the rest of the cast do a good job, but I guess it was missing that final bit of magic for me?

Fine for background music
8 July 2022
I listen to a lot of tv/movies while doing other things as background noise. This is ideal for that, the music is catchy and well sang (I mean, with this cast it's going to be sang well). The acting was hit or miss, but the writing was only somewhat ok. They pushed the boundary on some things and got very soap-boxy about women's rights. There was a lot of "telling instead of showing" as my old English teachers used to say- we could have had an theme of women's empowerment without having actual lectures in the movie, and even that wasn't well rounded. I liked that there wasn't anyone who was truly "evil", just misguided, but by doing this it makes her entire struggle a little 'cheaper'.

Confused and Amazed- can't wait for season 2
8 February 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I was completely unfamiliar with the lore and plot of the Witcher prior to the series, as was my husband. We were riveted, but had NO IDEA what was going on. The season was almost over before the pieces started falling into place and we realized there had been 3 separate plot lines. I wish they had told us when they jumped through time, it wouldn't have changed the story, but would have helped those of us who didn't understand.

I don't enjoy sad movies
31 January 2020
This movie was epic and well done, but my rating scale is based on my enjoyment. I didn't enjoy this film, because it wasn't designed to be enjoyed. It was thought provoking, disturbing, and made me cry for almost the whole thing. My husband laughed through it all, so if you're a little twisted and magically void of empathy, like him, you'll enjoy the hell out of it. Me, I felt unsettled and didn't enjoy it.

Train wreck
31 January 2020
I enjoy the original, it's cheesy, but I like it. This. This is a train wreck. I can't stop watching, but it's SO BAD. I do hate Rob Lowe, and I also don't feel they appropriately represent Texans, so that much is very biased. I appreciate the attempt to be "diverse" but instead of it being a natural diversity, it's pushy and off-putting.

I enjoyed it, but the writing lacked depth
22 June 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I enjoyed the movie, the cast was excellent. The graphics were amazing. But the plot and writing lacked the depth that the earlier MIB had. It could have been better, but giving them the weapon to end all weapons, and revealing it all right up front (hell, even revealing it in the trailers!!) made it fall short of it's potential. I hope there's another with the same cast and more creative writing.

Pretty entertaining, can't handle the laugh track
22 June 2019
I don't know if this is recorded in front of a live audience that is too wound-up, or if it's a bad laugh track. Gabriel is funny, but the lines are only kind of amusing and the laugh track is too loud, so I find it distracting. I felt like I was watching a lower quality show, the lines are directed towards middle schoolers. Gabriel was definitely the star, but it'd be nice if the rest of the cast could be more like him and be less over the top.

Biggest disappointment is that it ended
26 July 2018
I thoroughly enjoyed this series. Cute, witty, poignant, honest. I loved it and am sad I found it too late to push for it to continue.

So Different
1 June 2018
This was such a unique movie, and I really appreciated it for that, but on the other hand, it was so unique that there's no way I could have gotten some of my family to sit through it. It's almost too slow and complex for young children, so I'm not sure who the target audience really was. It was like watching art in motion. It was refreshingly different. I'd recommend it to people, but I can't say it's become a favorite.

Out of the world
1 June 2018
So, all I know about Dias De Los Muertos is from Spanish class in high school, but from what I know, this movie was an imaginative and beautiful story using the Mexican culture in a positive and worthwhile way. I was actually enthralled and enjoyed every minute (and at 27, that says something). I think it's an excellent opportunity to expose kids to another culture, and look forward to having kids so I have an excuse to watch it again.

It was a miss for two 27 year olds
1 June 2018
I think you either need to be around the age of losing your virginity or around the age of worrying your kids will lose theirs. My husband and I, without any kids, didn't quite relate to this one. The humor was very targeted. It wasn't bad, but neither one of us would sit through it again.

Struggles To Finish
1 June 2018
I struggled to get through this movie. It honestly felt like it was written, directed, and produced by a team of high school kids. If that's the case, I should change my rating, because for high school kids it wasn't bad.

The writing was cringe worthy, and the acting was stiff and uncomfortable, probably because the lines weren't developed enough to sound natural. I liked that the protagonists all looked like everyday girls. I felt the background music was too dramatic for the plot line. There were occasionally shots that weren't directed at anything and I struggled with figuring out why I was looking at it. There were places the plot could have gone to beef it up more, because it was prettt mundane, especially since character interactions sounded so uncomfortable. Honestly, if I were a 8-12 year old girl struggling with stage fright, this one might have spoken to me... but if you're not, you'll be disappointed. It was totally family friendly and Christian oriented, if that matters to you.

Conflicted feelings
28 April 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I like happy movies. This one did not make me walk away feeling happy. On the other hand, it was a really excellent movie, well written, phenomenal acting, I felt just confused enough to want to know more, without being frustrated and thinking I missed a movie. (Although I did question this for a second...) Action filled. Powerful. Sad.

Since watching this, I rate all movies on a scale of Envy to 10. I've yet to find another that I dislike more.

So bad... but couldn't stop watching
28 April 2018
This was truly cringe inducing, from the first poorly written and not well performed cliche line to the last. But I also love really bad corny happy ending movies, which this was. This was right on the line for me, almost too bad to finish, which means if you dislike cheesy teen movies, you will hate this one.
