Why is Keanu in this Nicholas Cage movie?

Difficult movie to watch overall. Was waiting for this to tie together in a satisfying way, but it never happened. Think they were shooting for film noir M Knight hybrid but not even sure anymore after the ending.

Ryan's a little wooden

But he supposed to be that way? He channels his inner Clint for an entertaining adventrure quasi film noir with a really super 80's synth sound track. All the range of a young Harrison Ford.

Moves seriously slow at times. Really slow The skip 10 second button on Netflix helped.

How could it have THREE incredible stars and be unwatchable?

I could not finish this movie. This should have been a Steven Seagal direct to video release.. Not many other ways to put it. Please don't see this film.

Greatest cast, terrible movie
22 June 2014
With so much fantastic talent in this movie, it is very difficult to believe how bad this is. The actors and the director in this production are among the funniest in the business. Amazingly, the movie is not very funny.

There ARE a couple of good bits--namely the plane banner message--but overall a waste of time. Just one bad joke carried out to a sublimely ridiculous extreme. I have to believe that there was a better film on paper than ended up on the screen. I look forward to much better work from everyone involved in this, and I guess since this is seven years old by now? They have done much better! They can't all be great movies, I guess, but don't waste your time on this dog.

Boring, Slow, Beyond Belief

I couldn't finish it. Not even the Rock could save this one. There are many unbelievable aspects, suspensions of disbelief that must be attained to be able to finish this movie. Unfortunately, or fortunately, I could not complete the task. The most major of all of the flaws that is difficult to overcome is how is his idiot buddy still alive in this world? How would they not have been caught or found out from the start considering his big mouth? And why is this sensible guy still friends with him in the first place is a close second place.

Add two stars for Dwayne Johnson.

It has the feel that it is based on a true story, or supposed to be, it would be interesting to know if it was.

Great Summer fun, but one word: editor
11 July 2006
Overall, an enjoyable movie. If you liked the first, you'll like this one fine, too. However two and a half hours tests the limits of this viewer's attention span. Maybe too many stars needed too much camera time...maybe so much was spent on budget, had to show it all...who knows? Like I said, loved the first movie, and would recommend this one, too. But don't say I didn't warn you on the time thing. If you wear a watch, you will look at it more than once.

That would have been my entire review, but apparently there is a minimum lines of text, so I will continue. Johnny Depp is fantastic as usual. The special effects were amazing, and the villains quite creepy. I won't spoil the ending, but I will tell you--I smell sequel. (I know, they filmed the third installment at same time as this one, ala back to the future).
