Infinity Pool (2023)
Wow!!! I can't stop thinking about this movie
This film is everything you want in a horror film from start to finish. Without giving away spoilers... The murders in this movies are absolutely astonishing to watch. Many times throughout the movie I had to rethink if all of these weird things were actually happening. THEY WERE... AT A VERY FAST PACE. Do not listen to any of these bad reviews they obviously aren't real horror fans. In my opinion, this is cronenbergs best work to date just because of the shock factor in every single scene. Mia goth and Alex skarsgard are also a phenomenal pairing with both having very ominous faces throughout every scene they are in together. If you're a horror fan and you like "mind-bending" and gory films this is as good as it's gets.
Monster (2022)
BEST SHOW IN NETFLIX HISTORY
Wow, just wow one of the best shows I ever watched in my life. I went into this with no expectations and wind up watching the whole entire series in one day. Evan Peters is absolutely one of the greatest actors in Hollywood right now. Every single person casted in this show was 10/10 and almost spot on to every real person including the victims. This is the only show on Netflix I watched where I couldn't take my eyes off the screen. So disturbing yet so mesmerizing to even think that this is true events. There were points during this show where I had to literally pause it and literally just have full on conversations with my girlfriend. This is by far the best depiction of Jeffery dahmer ever. No debate.
Nope (2022)
Near perfect movie
Jordan Peele's "Nope" is a tantalizingly creepy mixed bag of a sci-fi thriller. It's a movie that taps into our fear and awe of UFOs, and for a while it holds us in a shivery spell. It picks the audience up and carries it along, feeding off spectral hints of the otherworldly. Yet watching the movie, you can just about taste the DNA of Steven Spielberg's "Close Encounters of the Third Kind," and "Nope" mirrors the trajectory of other films that have been made in the shadow of "Close Encounters," like M. Night Shyamalan's "Signs" and Denis Villeneuve's "Arrival." Here, as in those films, the anticipation works better than the payoff.
Barbarian (2022)
Realistic horror
As a horror fan, this movie meets all the criteria to be a classic. Seeing this in theaters was absolutely terrifying for me and my girlfriend. This movie gives me a new fear of basements/cellars and actually gives a very realistic view of what "something is in the basement" really means. If you haven't watched this movie I advise you to watch it with a free mind and enjoy the ride. The cast was absolutely perfect from top to bottom with not one mistake in the cast. I genuinely enjoyed every single second of this film. Justin long and Georgina Campbell were the perfect actors for this movie in every way possible from the moment you see both characters all the way til the end.
