Rebel Moon - Part Two: The Scargiver (2024)
This Is a Victorian Wedding Cake
So I survived it. This isn't one of the worst movies, and the visuals recommend it, but that's about it. The story simply didn't make any sense: You have a ruthless military man after just enough flour to keep his troops fed for a few days until he finds out that the moon is hiding someone he's been looking for. She grabs some soldiers to help defend the moon, and then it's their forces in opposition.
There's a lot of filler in the movie. Everyone has to harvest the wheat BY HAND because the good guys need to be as anti-tech as possible (despite their weapons, their cybernetics, their spaceships, and some meds) and that slow-motion montage is followed by weapons training that takes up less time (because they're hunters, I guess, even though some of these people have no idea how to hold a rifle).
There's even a section where everyone tells their background while sitting around that could have been handled by a few lines of dialog. Even the bad guy does stuff just so you'll know he's a bad guy; he's leader just because he's scary not because he's good at it.
The acting is all over the place: It's usually pretty good but that's mostly because of the actors, not the direction; they take what they have and go for it. The heroine and villain, however, must have gained twenty pounds each from the amount of scenery they ate; she's sad and moody and he's just vile, but between them, they just don't take their roles above two dimensions.
You just don't believe the soldiers were chosen for their training because they're just video game targets. The defenders are even worse because you see a lot of solo action rather than anyone really supporting one another; if they had, then the fight would have been a lot shorter.
The visuals are awesome, however. Everything looks great, there are some iconic moments, and it's gorgeous. I love their glowy swords more than those in Star Wars, the costumes were beautiful, and the griffins against spaceships were great. I just wish the tech felt more futuristic; I love steampunk, but powering ships through coal just felt weird.
In essence, this is what happens if you mashed the stories of Star Wars and Seven Samurai together and threw in elements of Jupiter Ascending. Incredible visuals, but it's missing so much else.
Avatar: The Last Airbender (2024)
It's No Cartoon, But That Works Really Well
This is actually a fairly decent series; I had never seen the animated series I'd enjoy it more. The acting is pretty good, and the writing is decent. There are some minor issues with the FX, but I'm emphasizing "minor"; I would have liked more practical effects but then Katara would have been shortchanged.
While this is below the cartoon, it's well above the movie on every level. If you're looking for something to binge, it works, especially if you have kids.
There are three basic issues, but I'm throwing in the caveat that this is just the first season, so I'm expecting some issues.
1) It's trying too hard to follow the series. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it can actually get annoying every so often. However, it does deviate from the path and fills things in with just enough frequency to make it interesting.
2) The storytelling feels too linear: It just doesn't flow like it should, and there should be more flashbacks, and the flashbacks that are there are just too brief. This is more of a personal preference, but this is one story that needs those eddies and vortices.
This also applies to the introduction of Azula and Co. However, I do like her introduction this early into the series, and letting her develop a little more than she was allowed to in the series. It's also nice to her evilness develop.
3) The character development is a little slow, but it is again the first season; let's establish the basics first. However, I do like what they are doing with Osai; it makes him a better villain when you can see the development of his villainy contrasted with how good of a father he is.
Like I said: This is actually a fairly decent series, and it can work outside of the original series. It's well worth watching, even if you are a hardcore fan of the cartoon.
Mortuary Academy (1988)
This Movie is as Dead as it Subjects
This is pretty much the standard "boys are forced to attend school, school is in danger due to closing due to malicious incompetence, band saves the school" story. The acting is sub-par to serviceable, the comedy is debatable, and the special effects are just above what you would expect from a college freshmen project. Worse, the story seems to be written as they went and the dialogue rarely gets above forgettable.
It feels like they wanted to make a sex comedy centering on necrophilia, but they forgot most of the sex and all of the comedy. The only reason this movie is rated "R" is because of one scene; the rest is aggressively vanilla.
Just forget this movie; only if you're a fan of certain actors will it hold any interest. It's not even good as a movie you'd get drunk and make fun of it.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (2023)
One of the Best of the MCU Movies
This is arguably one of the best MCU movies. There is nothing really wasted, and everything has its place. While I wish Warlock had been better used, even he works. There are some really great running gags, Rocket's arc is great, and it's fun to see an almost campy villain.
The only major strike against the movie is the High Evolutionary, who has little to do with his comic counterpart; this villain is just more of a psychopath with lots of resources. But it does lead to one of the most epic space fights I've ever seen, so I'll allow it. Well, that and the Stallone cameos.
This is the perfect way to end a trilogy, but still leave plenty of room for a sequel. The humor is perfect, as well as the bathos of Rocket. This is an almost-perfect movie, and should be mandatory watching.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022)
Some Really Great Horror
I honestly forgot about this one. This one is decidedly different from the rest of the catalog, as this is good old-fashioned Lovecraftian horror, and they have some serious fun. Wanda is used effectively here, and it's interesting to see motherhood issues used as the basis of the horror. The dark side of Strange's powers is explored, as well as the cost of magic, with Zombie Strange working way too well.
I like this version of America Chavez; she has a great mix of wonder and cynicism that really helps the horror. Wong as Sorcerer Supreme works really well, and the pseudo-rivalry between him and Strange helps drive the movie. I don't mind The Illuminati here because it's a great way to show how scary Wanda really is and it helps build the universe.
In short, except for Strange winning at the end, this is almost as perfect a horror movie as you can have, with all of the light and brightness serving to make the scary stuff even scarier.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (2023)
Good Movie, But Needed Polish
Quantumania was a mess, but had enough going on to make it interesting. The problem is that divided into two movies, and only one was worth watching (and it wasn't the one with Lang). We needed more set-up of Janet's problem before she entered the sub-universe and Lang's section needed to be more than just him blackmailed into action.
While the Lang anthill was a nice touch, but the scene just felt a bit extraneous; overall it was just "meh." MODOK killed every scene he was in; the character needed to be deleted from the movie completely. The Council of Kangs actually managed to kill some of my interest in the Kang arc, and just after such coolness in Loki.
Good movie, but needed some polish.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022)
Great Movie with Focus Issues
Wakanda Forever is a good, serviceable movie, giving people exactly what they were looking for. I actually sort of liked the take on Namor and his people, but I would have loved to see more of their tech; I wanted them to be the equals of Wakanda.
Shuri's conflict needed to be given more focus and we needed more of Riri, especially considering her upcoming show; she could have taken over Nakia's role easily, especially considering her uselessness underwater. The mid-credits scene was decent, but needed more focus on the kid.
M'Baku was awesome. He's matured somewhat; him as king and Shuri as his champion would make for an awesome pairing.
Gen V (2023)
Great Show Minus the Last Ten Minutes
This is the kind of show that if you go in knowing what to expect it's a great show, but can also be seen as sort of a problem child. While the season finale sort of disappoints, the show itself is actually fun to watch: The performances are top-notch, they have a lot of fun exploring the concepts presented, and even the special effects are generally pretty good.
The set-up is pretty simple: Marie gets enrolled in Godolkin University, finds out the hard way that she's going to find problems due to her power (a form of blood bending), but still manages to party with the Big Heroes on Campus. Something happens, but due to their political armor and her icky power, she takes the blame and is kicked out.
Before the paperwork can be processed, Golden Boy attacks the professor in question then commits suicide. The aftershocks catapult her into stratospheric popularity while kicking off the mystery of Golden Boy's death, eventually exploring the true origins of "God U."
The only major problems are pretty much all in spoiler territory: The last ten minutes of the season finale. The series chugs along at a fairly decent clip, the twists are generally pretty well deserved, and there is plenty of the sex and violence you would expect in a spin-off of The Boys set in college.
Strangely, I actually think the horror elements could have been turned up a notch; the scenes in The Woods feel sort of tame.
The series explores the issues of internet popularity and how it can affect personal lives and corporate policies when that sort of fame is pursued. While it does make some good points, it sometimes doesn't go far enough or seems handicapped by going to the most cynical applications of that sort of fame. Ironically, we've seen the territory covered and done better; this show just seems to be geared toward the mean-spirited rather than earnestly exploring the topic.
However, this is still a pretty good show. I just wish it had stuck the landing better.
The Set (1970)
The Banality of Homosexuality
This is sort of an interesting movie, especially historically speaking: While it doesn't portray gay sex as it does heterosexual sex and the main character returns to heterosexuality at the end, that it does attempt to to portray a gay relationship does make it a ground-breaking movie and is worthy to watch for that alone.
However, there are numerous issues with the movie. The acting is decidedly low-key and the nudity seems to be in there just to attract interest from the straight crowd. There are also a couple of predatory gay characters.
Thus, if you're interested in the history of gay cinema, this is an interesting watch, but most people are better off just avoiding this movie.
Nimona (2023)
Ignore the plot and enjoy the characters
This is a roller coaster of a movie: The good news is that it's fun, exciting, and is easily something you could rewatch. The Bvd news is that we've seen a lot of it before. But that's not a bad thing, especially considering one little question.
The plot is simple: Ballister apparently kills the Queen and must clear his name, with the backup of the shapeshifting Nimona. But...you're not here for the plot.
Let's get the bad stuff out of the way: It's the standard "organizations are bad, individuals are good" theme with the standard BS "rich people suck, poor people rule" theme. You should be able to figure out the villain well before the reveal and there's even the obligatory hero-screws-up scene. But like I said, you're not here for the plot. Besides, one little question at the end makes dealing with the plot worth it.
Once you get past the superficial stuff, there's a lot to recommend the movie. Nimona is a punk rock Beast Boy, here to have fun and not be bored. She is a pure force of anarchy, but one who feels like she has a method to her madness. While she is the wiser of the pair, her becoming his sidekick allows him to shine.
While I would have for Ballister to retain more of his stiffness, he does grow up as he needs to, learning to let loose a little. He learns precisely the lesson he needed to learn, and hopefully he'll be a better leader for it.
Of special note is his romance with Ambrosius; while it goes through the mandatory paces, that it survives to the end is pretty cool. After seeing so many gay romances that are all about the sex or just so boring, it's great to see an actual romance, with kissing and everything.
The character designs are pretty solid, although I would have liked to have seen a little more detail and Barrister needed to be seen in something besides armor. The animation is nicely smooth, although I would have liked to have seen more energy to it. However, the setting works pretty well; the knighthood in the future works very well.
Overall, this is a great move and asks all of the right questions. While the plot and themes are a bit cliche, once you get past those it's a great movie.
Nekrotronic (2018)
Nicely Done
If you're looking for a move that's solid fun, this may be the movie for you.
Right after his friend downloads a ghost collector game, Howard starts getting horrible headaches. They find out the game is collecting real ghosts and that Howard is the heir to two powerful necromantic bloodlines. He is soon recruited by a band of necromancers just as necromancers are being killed by demons as they are taking over the world.
He must deal with his mommy issues to save the world.
While this sounds like the standard "chosen one" story, this is a solid story once you get past the cheese. The hero is nicely competent once he gets into the groove of things, but the two women butt-kickers aren't there to babysit the new hero: They tend to take the lead and show the newbie what's going on.
While Howard does get to make the final decisions, it's not the usual "I'm the Chosen One, listen to me"; everyone in the group, even the sidekick, has their time to shine and it works rather well.
The acting is actually rather nice; this isn't the standard "everyone playing it straight" but the actors did their job, and did it well. The plot is pretty solid and the world is nicely realized; between them, you forget you're watching a movie.
While there's no question that the special effects are cheap, they are still top-notch. The crew takes the budget and makes it do what they want it to do; the explosions, possession, and gore effects all work rather well. Combined with an awesome soundtrack and the movie is all sorts of fun to just watch.
There are minor issues, however. Rangi, the ghost sidekick, needs to show off his abilities a bit more and the finale feels a bit rushed. Bellucci is a little wooden as the BBEG; she should have been allowed to have more fun with the role. But these are minor; there is plenty going on and the story is nicely solid.
Overall, this is a fun movie, and is well worth it if you're a horror fan looking for something a little different.
Nope (2022)
Love Peele, Not This Movie.
Should you see this movie....? Well...um....what's the title?
Yet again, NEVER title something that makes it easy for critics. The acting was good, the cinematography great, but the creature just feels like it created to show off the CGI software and not a single character went beyond the second dimension. The entire Gordy thing could have been deleted and it wouldn't have been missed.
Heck, you could have nailed a lot of the creature's appearance and it would have been better. This is a creature that needed to be seen a lot less; it just doesn't work and it just seemed like it was there just to show off the special effects.
This would have made a great 30-minute short but is a horrible movie.
Yakitori: Soldiers of Misfortune (2023)
Good But Needs More Tension
Well, I officially have a new standard for "meh" anime. This is pretty much a middle-of-the-road anime; while the characters are pretty well differentiated both in terms of design and personality, the animation is smooth, and the world is definitely interesting; this is one of the few well-realized anthropomorphic worlds. It doesn't hold back on the violence, and the weapons and vehicles are well-designed. The continuity is actually pretty good and the world is well-realized.
However, it does suffer from the Navi problem and there is little tension. The administrative avatar, a cute bunny girl, can be all sorts of cloying and seems designed for younger audiences; its just too jarring for this and that it never speaks English doesn't help. That it's constantly dancing doesn't help much. There's also little tension; the cliches tend to rob the writing of tension because you know what's going to happen and it usually does.
However, at six episodes this is well worth the investment, and the show makes for a good couple hours of entertainment. Just don't watch the credits; no one needs that kind of torture. But do watch the show; it's definitely worth the time.
FUBAR (2023)
Who knew Schwarzenegger Could Do Dramedy?
This is a pleasant surprise: Something that's relatively easy to review.
Basic Set-Up: Schwarzenegger plays a CIA agent who's retiring but gets called back in to save an agent. Surprise: The agent is his daughter. Daddy ended up having to divorce his wife/her mother due to job issues and it's looking like she's heading down the same path. Throw in some complicated HR issues and a psychologist tasked with helping the father/daughter, and let the hijinx begin.
Surprisingly, this works. This is actually a fairly good dramedy, and Schwarzenegger actually plays it straight with a light hand. Monica Barbaro, who plays his daughter, has no problem keeping up with him and even puts him in his place a couple of times. The rest of the characters are well-developed, and it's fun seeing them work together.
The bad guy is a little underwhelming, but it's just because he feels a little too "Doctor Evil"-ish when a much more grounded villain would have been more effective. They just needed a more modern Bond villain than what they got.
While they don't stint on the action, and there are some great fight scenes, the comedy sometimes falls a little flat. Strangely, this isn't because of incompetence; it just feels like they were holding back in order to keep things relatively grounded. That holding back is the only major problem. I also dislike the now-standard Netflix Season One cliffhanger, even though it actually works.
Overall, at eight one-hour shows, this is well worth the time investment, and it's a really fun watch.
Star Trek Parody. Pick Art & Numb Bear One (2022)
Watch It For The Shorts
Two officers seek to rescue their android officer in order to secure the secrets she holds. However, when they find her she refuses to leave due to her genocidal experiment.
If that was the movie they decided to build on, this would have been an incredible movie. However, instead they decided to pursue it as a comedy, and then it died. The experiment, based on the Old Testament, works. There is also a great joke involving a multi-function phaser.
However, there are too many times when something is introduced with no pay-off, the officers show too much ignorance of their own tech, and the tech displayed is used inconsistently. The acting is almost aggressively sub-par and the writing seems to be more interested in attempting jokes at the expense of the story, even though few actually land.
The movie does contain three full shorts. The best way to watch this movie is to fast-forward through the Star Trek parody and just enjoy the shorts.
Space Case (2021)
John Waters Meets Napoleon Bonaparte
The youngest daughter of a group of aliens finds a way home through a ticket she wins but must compete in a beauty contest when the forced to do so by the oldest daughter in order to get the ticket back.
This is a little more ethereal than most SF shorts, and feels like it could have been directed by John Waters: This is a tale of suburbia with a weird twist about outsiders trying to fit in, but one decides she doesn't want to and meets those in her tribe.
This is an awesome short for those who have been forced to fit, think they've found the right path, but then find something better. While it may be a little airy for some, it's still a fun short.
Time Addicts (2020)
Near-Perfect Time Travel Story
Two drug dealers/addicts get ahold of some crystals that, when smoked like meth, give them the ability to travel through time. While they mess things up ridiculously, they solve the problems by the end, even if it's not to satisfaction of anyone involved.
While there are som minor issues, this is about as perfect a time-travel story as you'll see. While the specific mechanism and rules are not mentioned, they aren't necessary. While there is plenty of time travel, no one leaves the room and there is minimal editing; you are actually able to follow one character's travels, and it shows both sides of a conversation she has with herself.
This is definitely well worth a watch, especially if you like time travel stories.
Illegal Aliens (2016)
Interesting Take on Local Politics
The small town of Simpleton has to decide if two aliens will be allowed to stay. While the short does have some good moments, the humor (especially when it comes to the celebrity and conservatives) tends to land flat.
However, enough of the jokes land so as to make it worth the experience, and the inversion of the couple's relationship will attract notice from feminists. While the acting is somewhat uneven, there is enough good acting that it doesn't really grate.
While the short is uneven overall, there is more than enough reason to watch it, and some groups may actually like some of the characterizations.
Hellraiser (2022)
Great Sequel But Needs Better Characters
This movie actually works. What made the first four movies work is that Pinhead wasn't a slasher; he is a seducer. He gives people access to their dreams but he also points out the cost. He then keeps at the person until they stop wavering, until they make a decision one way or another.
He could also be petty; there were times when someone decided to go after the Cenobites that needed to be dealt with. That Pinhead was on the defensive but still able to be interesting made him an interesting monster.
This movie continues that. Pinhead and the other Cenobites are a force of nature that serve a greater deity, and our there not to kill randomly, but to provide temptation for those willing to do anything to reach for it. There is just enough menace from Voight trying to do what he can to take advantage of the deal proferred and trying to break it that the movie works.
The atmosphere also works. When the Cenobites appear it is usually to effect, with a definite air of malice and threat. The re-designs are very effective, and while I miss the PVC dungeon suits, these work very nicely.
Riley is pretty much unlikable; she's just too much of a stereotype and never rises above it. It doesn't help that the rest of the crowd that follows her feels more like ciphers meant to check boxes. If they had been stronger, then the movie would have been n incredible movie. But because the movie has to rely on Voight and the Cenobites the movie has issues.
Throw in an ending I'm not 100% with, and the movie is a major improvement over the last six movies but not as good as the first four. I just hope the sequel has more interesting characters.
The Imperfects (2022)
A Fun Show to Watch
For those looking for a good low-key superhero show, this is exactly what you are looking for. A scientist suppresses the genetic problem of numerous adolescents and then decides to pull the medicine, so the kids suffer all sorts of side effects, aka powers. The kids find themselves on the bad side of a government agency. By the end of the season, their powers have been removed and the agency has been dealt with.
Mostly.
The acting is pretty good, and the CGI is serviceable. But what makes this show worth watching is that the writers had some fun with the characters and their backgrounds. Tilde is our countdown clock: Her band has to perform but she can't, so she needs to be fixed or she's going to be kicked out of the band. Juan has the family he's trying to link back up with, and his powers both facilitate and complicate that. And Abbi's powers just make her life complicated even as she helps find a cure.
But...the bad guys are all sorts of fun as well, as FLX (the agency) tris its best to take the kids without killing them. It's of note that the agency is funding the scientists to keep the agency working. One of those scientists, Dr. Zarkov, is the one who created the medicine, but with the usual "save the world" overtones. Given his sociopathy, it makes for an interesting dynamic.
Normally, I'd nail a show for hitting every box on the cliche checklist, but here they manage to work and they have fun with them. There are even all the usual Netflix Season 1 twists/cliffhangers, but I'm willing to let them go as it looks like there may be a second season.
So...overall, if you're looking for a good series to binge, this is one to look up.
Morbius (2022)
A Good 1990s Throwback
Well.....not as bad as it could have been. The acting was actually pretty decent; I'm not saying it was awesome, but the actors did the best with what they were given and much scenery was chewn.
The problem is that this would have made an awesome 1990s B-Movie: The SFX were pretty good, but too heavily dependent on the CGI when practical effects, including prosthetics, would have done better. The lighting was good, but too geared towards spooky and atmospheric when realistic lighting would have been much more effective.
There were some stand-out effects, such as the trails and the echolocation effects, but this was more of a throwback to the early SciFi movies (before it was Syfy) and was more appropriate to something from the Asylum than the MCU.
The writing was hardcore 1990s, however. The science had nothing to do with anything in the real world; the Technobabble knob was set on high and they did not hold back. You should not use anything you see here to help someone, including the legal stuff. The visuals are also too geared towards Easter eggs, and the post-credit scenes are just sequel-bait.
In essence, if you loved Spawn or have a major Full Moon fetish, you'll love this movie. If you're looking for a serious movie, however, look elsewhere.
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power (2022)
Worth A Watch
"You may only leave glowing reviews or none at all...."
Yeesh.....I get the idea of review bombing, but the show has earned the negative reviews. The acting is okay, but so far nothing worth writing home about The cinematography is good, but so far nothing beyond expectations: Some incredible shots, but nothing remarkable as far as any technique. Even the CGI is great, but nothing to tell write home about.
There's not even real tension: If you had no idea who Sauron was, there's no real reason to care about his return and a monster was introduced but got lost for a bit.
Other than that, it's just checking boxes: Main female character suffers setbacks due to male characters? We get three of them in the first twenty minutes, and another before the end of the episode. Conflict between nobles and poor? Check. Arrival of a mysterious stranger with wondrous powers? Check. Mandatory minorities but not in a position of actual power? Check. Rich guy more worried about career than long-distance friend's life? Check. Friends fight but get back together? Check.
Want some fun? Look at the facial hair of the characters: The nobles have none, not even sideburns, the poor haven't seen a razor in years, and those in the middle have great hair care.
So.....worth watching? Definitely. There are some really great parts that shine and then some; Galdriel's sea adventure has the right mix of suspense, romance, and adventure. The above-mentioned reconciliation was fun to watch. And the scenery is downright gorgeous.
So on the balance, it's worth the watch. It has some promise, and should be interesting at least to see where they go with it.
Day Shift (2022)
Great Fights, But Otherwise Missable
The good stuff: The Navarian Brothers were awesome, and the contortionist vampires were a great touch; the fight scenes used them well, making them some of the best things outside of HK. It was also sort of nice to see Snoop Dogg in an active role.
However, the acting and cinematography were decent and the makeup/CGI is about what you would expect from something like this.
The writing is horrible. The villains aren't developed, and are pretty much an after-thought; they don't do anything really cool outside of the fight scenes. Even the Union offices are pretty much standard; outside of some visual Easter eggs there's all of the usual wannabe-Office shenanigans.
Worse, you have the Big Black Guy With Guns doesn't evolve; he's the same screw up he began as but now has a justification for his bad habits. He only has to become honest at the end so that he can continue his stupidity.
However, you do have the nerdy white guy gain powers and confidence, and is even taking on the vampires himself more efficiently than the experienced vampire hunters.
By the time this movie ends (through a device we've never seen before and never saw him set up), we've been ready for the end for almost half an hour.
Outside of the vamps, there is just nothing of interest in this movie. This is a good time-waster, and action fans will love the fights, but otherwise, just avoid this.
Big Bad Budget Battle (2022)
It's The Good Grocery Games
While I'm not a fan of Ree Drummond (she's a good cook, but not as fun as, say, Alex Guarnaschelli), this isn't a bad show. While it does use the Food Network supermarket (so it would be fun to see a cross-over with this and Guy's show as contestants battled one another for ingredients), this is a good show.
I emphasize "good".
The cooks are entertaining to watch and it's fun to see what they come up with. They act as regular people just making dinner under some interesting limits. However, the limitations feel just too artificial for even this kind of show, and it drains part of the life out of it. The leftovers are just too good, and the challenges just seem more like fraternity hazing than someone having fun.
It's not a bad show. It's just not an awesome one.
It's CompliPlated (2022)
Pretty Simple, Really
Yeah, I'm out. From the food perspective, all I'm seeing is people that need therapy more than specialized diets. I'm not sure if those with special needs are just bad actors or people with social issues, but they're coming across more as whiners than people with real needs.
Maneet Chauhan is a great cook, and she tries to justify every cooking decision, but she's not doing it wholeheartedly here. I've seen her on other cooking shows where she has fun and really gets into it; there's a reason she won the Tournament of Champions beyond her incredible cooking skills. Here she's just not into it.
And I hate the cooks. I have no problem if you bring your personal beliefs to cooking; I really do have no problem with gluten-free sugar-free cooking. But these cooks feel more like they are trying to proselytize for their beliefs, and it comes off as more of a platform for pseudo-scientific mumbo-jumbo that you'd find at a co-op mixer than professional chefs.
But the host is the worst. Tabitha Brown just acts more like that Southern plantation host that no one wants, and she feels like she thinks she's better than everyone at the party. She has to have the last word and comments on everything, and it just comes off as fake. She's the bitter drunk you expect at every party.
So I'm out. This could have been a good show, but this is just horrible.
