What was that ?????????
8 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I've just finished watching the final episode of this series, hoping to get some answers. Guess what, I didn't get any.

If anything it just left me with even more questions.

I get the basic premise of the series, weird things happening in a small town in the middle of nowhere, but it was way to long and drawn out with to much looking into the locals personal lives.

It probably would have helped if they told us a bit more about what was going on and just left us trying to guess who else was involved. I'm not sure if I would watch another series (if they ever do one) but it would be interesting to find out more.

A better way to have ended this would have been to show us what was behind the door, then have all the evidence destroyed by the fire and the bad guys setting up shop in another small town.

going downhill fast
20 December 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I must admit that I love this kind of film, plenty of action, lots of good fight scenes and iffy but just believable story lines. But this one has taken it to far.

There are just to many near misses and "just in the nick of time" coincidence's for my liking.

I found the storyline was way to predictable and the "twist" at the end with Barny not being dead, well anyone who didn't see that coming is just plain stupid.

I liked the fight scenes, even though some of them were a bit over the top, and the basic story line is ok, bad guys stealing a nuke and trying to start WW3, but as I said, to predictable with to many clichés.

Overall, worth a watch for some action but the series is going downhill fast with the plots. Personally I think that this will be the last of the Expendables unless some bright spark at some TV company decides to make a series out of it with some new characters. Oh god, I've just had this horrible thought, Expendables the next generation, that would be awful.

Anyway, happy watching and I hope you enjoy.

Slow and steady
30 August 2023
I can see why a lot of reviewers have slammed this film, it is a bit of a slow burner, but that's the way it's supposed to be, it's a drama not an action film.

The underlying story is about one woman trying to find out if the Earth can be saved after we destroy the atmosphere and flee to Jupiter's moon IO and then onward to the stars.

I think that some people were expecting some more special effects or freaky monsters or something and I have to admit as I have said, it is a bit slow in places but interesting.

The trailer didn't help, made it look a lot more exciting, but if you stick with it, it's not a bad film but I don't think I'll be watching it again.

Good idea, badly made
26 August 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Where do I start, May as well start at the beginning.

A nice lead in at the start for those who may not remember the first film (I have to admit i'm surprised that they even made a sequel), but just how bad can the acting get??

I'm going to have to insert some spoilers.

Why didn't the stupid "Rednecks" kill her at the house, they knew she could I. D. them and she was out cold at the time?? They had just killed one person, another one would have made no difference.

I can understand Becky getting one over on some stupid "rednecks" but a trained army vet is a different matter.

I can understand that he wants his thumb drive back but if it's hidden somewhere in the woods then the odds are no one will ever find it anyway. Plus he was stupid leaving it in his laptop anyway.

I could go on and on about silly plot holes and stupid stuff, but I wont bore you with all of that.

The acting was terrible and the same sort of story line has been told and retold many many times before (mostly a lot better).

It's listed as a Horror, Action, Thriller, but I think they would have been better off listing it as a Comedy.

Overall if you have got 90 mins to kill it's worth a watch just for a laugh, but I for one will not bother with a part 3 if it's ever made.

To silly at times
23 August 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I was looking forward to this film but I was disappointed.

Everyone seems to be going on about the bad CGI but I think that was deliberate.

The story line was what interested me, I love anything to do with time travel and the basic story is pretty good, a great mixture of time travel and multiverses with all the possible changes that can happen.

The thing that got me annoyed was there was to much "comedy" involved. Trying to make it more light hearted, it didn't work (well not for me anyway). I think it would have been a lot better if the story line had been a bit more serious and a lot less comedy.

The alternative Barry/Flash was way to silly. (although I think that was the idea, it didn't work for me)

Michael Keaton's Batman was a part of the film that made it worth a watch, as was Sasha Calle's Supergirl.

The twist at the end with a different Bruce/Batman leads to a possible follow on to try and correct his mistake, but I don't think they will do one.

Overall worth a watch as there were some very good scenes, but I can't see me watching it again.

ok, just about
8 March 2023
I put off watching this series for a while because of the poor reviews and I can see why the reviews were so poor.

Yes, it's a good idea, an ex agent helping out people who can't turn to anyone else, but it's been done before. As many reviewers have said, Edward Woodward did this a lot better back in the 1980's, or even The A Team.

I find it gets a little bit boring when you know right from the start that they will succeed every time, even considering that a lot of what they do is subject to guess work and assumptions and the fact that they never seem to get into any real life threating situations. Also, it's very predictable.

Overall it's ok for a bit of light entertainment to kill the odd hour but I wont be rushing to tune in for the next episode.

Pretty good for a "Netflix"
25 December 2022
It seems that Netflix are spewing out so many films at the moment, some good, some not so good, but this was one of the good ones.

What seemed like a fairly standard sci-fi film turned out to be a good film with a nice twist near the end.

I have to admit that the screaming kids in the film were a bit annoying, and with kids being kids, they had to do the opposite of what they are told and get into trouble. But that aside, this was a very enjoyable film with some ok special effects and ok acting.

The twist added a good novel ending to the film and there is the possibility of a follow on film or even a series, but I doubt it.

Overall a good film and well worth 90 minutes of your time.

OMG What a let down
27 October 2022
I'm not sure if I can find anything good to say about this film. The acting was terrible, the jokes where terrible, the script was terrible. I did like the idea of the back story showing us how the Munster family started, but did it have to take up 75% of the film?? They should have spent a lot less time on the back story and concentrated more on what happened to the family once they had moved to America.

I know that this is a "Comedy" film but jeez, this has to be the corniest film I have seen for a very long time.

I suppose I have to say that the makeup was pretty good and one or two of the jokes did make me giggle, but overall definitely not a film worth spending money on to see.

Nope (2022)

NOPE is a big NO GO
10 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The trailers were intriguing enough to give this film a watch, so I did. OMG that was a big mistake.

I don't usually include spoilers in my reviews but for this film I'll make an exception.

The first 30 minutes or so are so slow that you start to think, "Am I watching the wrong film"? Then when the action starts it still takes forever to get to the good stuff.

They discover that the Alien space craft is actually an Alien creature which has decided to set up shop in the middle of nowhere and eat anything that looks at it.

And so they decide in their wisdom to film it instead of calling someone for help.

This is a film that could have been so much better, definitely shorter.

And what the hell did a rampaging chimp on an old TV show have to do with the story?? Apart from being a back story of one of the bit part players it was totally unnecessary.

The acting was good though, It's just a great pity that the script was so bad.

My personal opinion, don't watch this film unless you want to give it your own opinion.

About what I expected
10 September 2022
When I started watching this film, I was expecting a pretty good action thriller, and that's what it is.

Definitely not Stallone's best film, but pretty good none the less.

I like the way Stallone has embraced the fact that he's getting older now, and he played the part of an aging hero well.

The action scenes are good with some pretty good effects and the acting for the most part was good with one or two minor exceptions.

Without giving to much away, I liked the small twist at the end. I'll leave what it is to your imagination, or watch the film to find out.

Definitely worth a watch if you like this sort of film.

Could have been better
27 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
A great idea but in my opinion it was "stretched out" to much.

I think that to many of these new series that are coming out over the last few years are elongating them to much. A good example is shown in this series. Do we really need to see half an episode covering one of the girls dealing with her period problems?? And there is to much time taken up with the girls arguing with each other and then making up. This series could have been shrunk down to 6 episodes quite easily.

But apart from that, I must say that I thought that the whole concept of this series is good and I'm hoping for a series two.

Interesting
17 June 2022
This is an interesting series of short films.

Some are very good, some not so good, but overall well worth watching.

Some of the stories are funny, some have got a serious message and some are just plain weird.

I think that it better to binge watch a few episodes at a time to help to get you "In the mood".

I've seen the first two series and will watch the third in a week or so and so far there has only been two episodes that I didn't really like, but that is just my point of view. Some people will like all of them, some will only like a few.

Happy watching.

Strange but brilliant
13 June 2022
It's amazing how many people will say that a movie is bad just because they can't understand it and I've noticed that some of the negative reviews are from people who didn't even watch the whole film, how can you rate a film when you only watch part of it??

I have to be honest and say that I think that the first part of the film was a bit to long ( I would have given it a 9 but for that ) but overall an excellent film and well worth sitting through, a good storyline with some great special effects and interesting enough to keep you watching.

Happy watching.

Disappointed
3 June 2022
I should start by saying that the original version of this film is one of my all time favourites so I was not expecting anything better than that, but this was way worse than I thought it would be.

It just didn't manage to "grip" me.

Being a new film, I was expecting much better special effects and although they were OK they were nothing special.

It's an OK film to kill 90 minutes but I wont be adding it to my "Watch again" list.

Misleading cover
28 May 2022
Warning: Spoilers
OMG what a strange film. I'll give it some credit, it's an interesting idea, but it should have been advertised in a different way.

The cover and write up on this film lead you to believe that it's another classic Ray Winston gangster film but without giving to much away, IT'S NOT.

Yes there are some parts that you would expect but most of it is chit chat.

My recommendation is don't bother with this one.

Roll on season two
22 May 2022
A very intriguing series, with some good characters. It's a bit gory in places, so not really for anyone who doesn't like a bit of blood and guts here and there. There are a lot of back stories through out the series which help you to understand the characters a bit better. I enjoyed season one and I hear that season two has been given the go-ahead. There are not very many good horror tv shows out there anymore, but I think that this is a good one.

Lets hope that season two is as good as season one. Happy watching.

I cant believe that I've not seen this show until now. It's very much like the X-Files with some good stories in each episode along with the ongoing back story to keep you coming back for more. A good solid 8/10.

Not his best, but not his worst
8 March 2022
This is one of Liam Neeson's usual type of movie at the moment, the aging hitman/agent type who has to sort out some sort of problem. It is quite predictable and the ending is very predictable. But overall a good action movie that is worth a watch.

An interesting look at how the stress of being a police officer can affect you mental state. My only criticism is how a police officer could survive with his problems.

A bit slow
19 May 2021
A bit slow going and could have done with a lot more action, but overall not a bad film.

I felt that there should have been more about the back story and maybe a bit more looking at what had happened to the rest of the world.

Worth a watch if your bored, but don't anticipate to much from this film.

Better after a second viewing
2 May 2021
After watching this film for the first time, I knew I had to wait a while and then watch it again to truly appreciate it. And I was right.

I have read some of the bad reviews and I am assuming that those people just didn't understand the whole concept of the story line, in fact there are at least two that didn't even watch the whole film, which means that they didn't get the whole of the story, BIG MISTAKE.

I can't say to much without giving away any spoilers but if you like time travel films with a twist, then this is well worth a watch (or two).

I have heard that there may be a follow on film and I for one hope that there is.

Good idea but to long
15 April 2021
I love the whole concept of this film but I feel that it should have been done as a 1 hour show, maybe something along the lines of Black Mirror or something similar.

I would have rated it a bit higher if it had been shorter.

Apart from that and if you don't mind sitting through the full length version, then It's worth a watch.

Cosmic waste
8 April 2021
What a waste of a good idea.

On the whole this is a good story line, the trouble is they didn't spend enough time and money on it.

As many critics have said, The film is based 400 years in the future yet they still use petrol cars and gunpowder powered bullets.

I would only recommend watching this film if you want to see just how bad it really is.
