Masters of the Universe: Revelation (2021)
Don't believe the neckbeards - this show is ok
So, the original show was 2 dimensional, crass marketing aimed at kids to get them to buy toys. The sort of kids who were either too young or otherwise indisposed to thinking too much beyond BAM BAM HIT HARD I HAVE THE POWER. It was bad.
Lots of whining about the lack of He-Man, when there's a second series "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe" about to air on Netflix - these clowns clearly don't realise that this first series is a prequel, of sorts.
If I was going to criticise it, I'd say it's overly sentimental at times, especially the way Oracle's backstory is delivered, but otherwise a vast improvement on the original. They've definitely big upped the role of some characters, the most significant of which has to be 'Man at Arms' who is now a one man army / drone strike machine.
As for the idea that it's 'cultural engineering' - you people must have weak, weak minds. If they wanted to make it all about strong women, why isn't Adam's twin sister Adora, aka She-Ra, at the forefront of everything?
Happy!: Resurrection (2019)
Dumb and not in a good way
I loved the first season of happy season 2 was such a let down even after a good start. many of the plot strands didn't really go anywhere and others just didn't make sense as if they're alright as hadn't really bothered 2 to think about what they were doing.the end of the season where Hayley's mother and father managed to inflict upon her trauma far worse than that imagined by the bad guys is just one example. What were they thinking? Some good observations like the relationship between imaginary friends and other supernatural beings are lost amongst the drivel. A confused mess. Not sure I'll be tuning in for season 3.
