Oops...
28 August 2022
...definitely written by college sophomores! This movie had a lot of potential, and I can only give credit for great cinematography, all else is...sophomoric. I started watching it and realized, "Oh crap, it's gonna suck...", and it did, faithfully, but I watched it till the end to give it a fair review. Ah well, not everyone is meant to be a writer. But I need 600 characters to end this, so...boohoohoo. All I want is to have 600 characters so I can finish this. Stupidity states 600 min characters for a review when sometimes only less than 20 suffice. Oh please! This is worse than the movie! Must I go thru this twice? Come on man, 600 characters? Really? Who came up with this amount? Certainly not Roger Ebert.

Nice retro film
26 August 2022
Loved it, something different from the "in crowd" that we have to put up with, especially the indoctrination movies and mostly tv shows. So it's dated, retro, predictable, SO WHAT? It's still better than a lot of cra. That's forced fed on us in this day and age. I and my wife found it entertaining, though a bit gory, and she's not into that, but she liked the story and the characters and...well, just give it a chance and watch it...with an open mind. Don't go adding your own storyline to it, let it play out, and put yourself in it as you do with your types of films.

Love Anya ever since The Queen's Gambit, good to see Terence Stamp, the young lady playing Ellie is star material, and of course Ms Diana Rigg. I grew up watching her in so many movies (In Her Majesty's Secret Service) and tv shows (The Avengers) et al, just a beautiful lady, and great actress, yes actress...

So I needed to fill in to 600 words or characters to be able to submit this, suffice to say I wrote until I was able.

I Robot
13 August 2022
This is the best version of the I ROBOT book by Isaac Asimov, why this one wasn't called so boggles my mind. To name Will Smith's version the same as Mr Asimov's book was truly a slap to his novel. I liked Will's version but it's not even loosely based on the book, but Bicentennial Man...wow...it was like reading the book all over. True it wasn't verbatim, but you could see the movie and the book meld as time went on.

Hooo boy...
11 March 2022
Um....wow...more from Trinity "Entertainment". Another garbage bag of idiotic ideas to make the feeble minded watch in awe as the world "destroys" itself according to their evangelical idiot plots. My wife and I watched these back to back and it was like, "Wait, did you put the wrong one back on", "No, it's supposed to be the sequel", "But didn't we already see that?", "Well, I think the beginning here was supposed to be first, then the first hour of the other should be spliced after the start, then part of the midd...", well, you get the point...bad movie, bad movie.

Oh boy!!
11 March 2022
As someone else wrote, worst movie ever about the End Times. It's typical of the "Christian" televangelists's mentality and view of the Bible prophecies. So, it's slow, predictable, full of holes, lacking any real information, even any entertainment value. And then there's part 2 which should have been part 1, or...wow, shades of Trinity Entertainment...alas!

Something new
8 March 2022
I'm amazed at how many "reviewers" didn't get the twist, and expected something more religious or Sci-Fi. More Sci-Fi? As in Lucas or Spielberg or Marvel? Come on man, this was more akin to old sci-fi like the HG Wells, Úrsula LeGuin, Robert Heinlein, Ray Bradbury, Frank Herbert, Jules Verne, etc etc, I could go on. They didn't depend on detailed science, but on the imagination of the reader. True, it seemed to drag on sometimes, but like a good book that tries to help your imagination grasp the possibility of the subject matter, pure science would just divert the reader to a math problem.

Impressive animation
3 March 2022
For its time the animation was impressive. Anyone looking for a Beauty and the Beast, or Cinderella, or even a Magic Kingdom tour will not like this colorful, full of music film. If you don't like music from south of the Rio Grande this film is not for you, there are no banjos nor square dancing segments, that's in another film.

I liked it back when I was a kid, and still do, even though for our times it is dated, like we will be to future generations. It is a product of its time. To judge it for its "errors" is to think we don't make any, as we are products of our time.

Give Walt a hand for doing something we're not capable of doing, and if you think you can, let's see it.

Ummm...
23 February 2022
Like the African American guy said, "Are you serious?" Was this a college school project? Seems and feels so. I gave it 3 stars for effort, effort to make us laugh, as in "The rabbi doesn't eat pork." And at "delusions of grandeur" is where I stopped watching...oy!

Too slow
23 February 2022
Too predictable, dialogue and script too naive as if written by college or maybe high schoolers; it's forced, and too simple in its dialogue that it tends to leave the viewer with more questions of who wrote the screenplay.

Nop...

...It seems Hollywood has lost its charm and luster, trying to force feed its viewers fodder. I watched 10 minutes of the first episode...and that was it. I imagine the Brits will be shocked at this Hollywood attempt at recasting their past Royal members. Awful. Don't waste your time.

Peggy and Daniel...and Steve Rodgers?
5 February 2022
I just finished watching Agent Carter with my wife, a bit late since we missed it when it was first introduced.

So Peggy moves to L. A. in the second season and falls in love with Daniel. Was this all erased when Steve Rodgers returned to the past to live his life with Peggy by showing up at her house a week after he plunged Hydra's jet into the water? Or does this end up as another part of the multiverse?

Wow, underrated film
11 January 2022
I loved it! Saw some reviews and thought I wouldn't watch it, but my wife and I decided to give it a try. Wow, glad we did, we enjoyed it to the end.

To those who "didn't get it" all I have to say is, travel abroad, but learn some of those other countries cultures before criticizing their films. Apparently there is a lack of external cultural understanding in the USA, so before you criticize a movie without understanding other countries customs you may want to think twice or more before posting a review.

The movie is mostly subtitled and there's a lot lost in translation, mainly, customs, idioms, traditions, etc., that would clarify much of what non-Spanish speakers did not understand. We're from Central America, and Spanish culture is different from ours, but the advantage of speaking Spanish, and having grown up watching movies from Spain helped us enjoy this film greatly. Maybe I should have rated it a 9, but for those non-Spanish speakers I left it as 8, for their sake.

Lost in translation
6 January 2022
After watching the movie in Spanish I can see why English speakers did not like the movie as much as Coco. Two different cultures. Don't compare Mexico, more familiar with neighbors to the north, to Colombia, our neighbors south of Central America...yes, past the isthmus, down in South America. The movie, because of the storyline, and apparently it's dialogue, did not translate well from Spanish to English. I related with the Spanish version better than the English one because of many of the idioms used in Spanish, and throughout much of Latin America south of...Mexico. Yes, Mexican Spanish is very different than those south of its border, especially those south of Panama. I love the fact that I can watch it in different languages and compare. It's a sad fact that that is why many of the northerners couldn't relate and expected to be dazzled by it's music alone. That's why I gave it a 9 instead of a 10, but a 7? Come on, man...

Cancelled?
30 December 2021
Too much needless profanity, the producers and writers should "of", LoL, sorry, have concerned themselves with the story and kept to the point. Alas! It seems profuse foul language is the key to a hit show nowadays, or so the producers, writers, etc think that's what the viewers want. Not so, I would change shows midstream, return when I would think it would change direction. No, it didn't. It's a shame they wasted Diane Lane's talent, she did her best with the script. No need for spoilers, there is nothing to spoil.

This is movie is awesome! It totally describes our current and present situational awareness and confidence. It describes exactly how our government and population would react to news like this. Haha, I loved this movie.

Oh myyy...
10 December 2021
...where do I begin? Either a High School project or a 2nd year college exam. The language is awful, it's a mixture of old and new English, the filming is all modern motion, and the settings...oh myy, more like 19th century than first century. This movie could have been a great retelling but apparently it must have had a very very low budget. A waste for actress Yancy Butler, she must have donated her time. I hope someone else decides to remake it with better dialogue, acting, and sets, and most of all, heart.

Saw the budget and earnings...no wonder
5 December 2021
I got dizzy with all the back and forth scenes of the actors as they argue with each other. Movie moves so fast keeping track of time you need a stopwatch.

Dune
22 October 2021
Some reviews said it was "convoluted and plotting", "pace was slow", etc...have any of these people read the book, this is a novel, not a short story, and novels are always slow and detailed so the reader can immerse fully into the story. Read the book, then comment... I found it better than the previous version in the way the storyline was presented but a lot of things were changed, as always, to conform to today's "standards"

Funny as heck!
15 August 2021
Hahahaha, loved it! I'm not into musicals but some do tell a good story with great songs, and this one did it with great comedy. And that Cecily Strong sure has aged like great wine.

What a premise...
24 July 2021
...and what a flop! What space agency sent these two morons into space? A cowboy and a pot head. At one point I thought his name was A. Moron but later I saw it was Anderson. I couldn't even find a spoiler in this film. What a waste of time. DON'T WATCH IT!! It's a shame, it was a good premise but a horribly written story. "Dr Abe Anderson" ends up being a married junkie.

Typical
15 July 2021
Yes, it's a chick flick where the women are the good "guys", and from what I've read in the reviews it's no brained. If the protagonists were guys the same critics would have raved and loved it, but since it's women it gets trashed. Come on man, don't let your testosterone expose you. It's like most of the movies nowadays. Lots of blood and gore and senseless "action". I gave it 8 because if it had been guys that's what it would have been rated.

After 9 episodes we gave up on this trash
16 June 2021
It took 9 episodes before we gave up watching this garbage, what promised to be a great show ended up being a religious overly dramatic stupidity filled soap opera, worse than those in daytime. It really manifested itself as each episode progressed. Don't waste your time.

Stupidity at its best
16 June 2021
Whiners and people who can't comprehend what's happening around then, and apparently very intelligent and in high positions, is what I saw in what could have been a really good series. Overacting and bad dialogue. 4 stars.

A note on the camcorder incident by the previous reader
30 June 2005
Warning: Spoilers
I think he misunderstood one thing. The reason all electronic equipment stopped was due to the possible EM radiation possibly caused by the lightning, and not the tripods. If you noticed the tripods shot a heat ray, therefore no EM radiation, hence the camcorder and the van worked. Also, remember the reason the van worked? Manni? The only thing I also did not like was the sudden ending, but I guess by then I was too peaked out and just wanted more. I think H.G. Wells would be proud of Mr. Spielberg. Thanks Stephen, for another job well done. At our showing, the audience walked out exhausted and dazed. Tom is as always true to his career. He really submerges himself in his work. As for Dakota, well, what can you say? I remember her in "Trapped", "Man on Fire", etc. and thought she had a good career on her hands but I think she really showed what she's capable of doing at such a tender age. I have a question for Mr Spielberg...will the DVD contain extra footage? Something that maybe was left off due to time restraints? With the DVD at home, we can always pause to go to the restroom, get a bite to eat, etc. so time is not a restraint here. If you have additional footage, please bring it on. It'll just make the nerves get crazier, but at least we'll be home to take something to help us relax, during or after the movie.
