Maybe I Do (2023)
Very good film.
This was a really enjoyable film. Acting was good. Script was meaningful. Young stars were very appealing.
I really am surprised at the dismissive reviews. I've watched some highly rated films that did not have these elements.
Richard Gere seems to get better with age. He has a sensitivity that comes through in his roles especially of late.
I subtracted 2 stars because of the distraction of Keaton's clothes and hair. She seems to want to be seen outside her character. It becomes irritating.
Macy always delivers. What a wonderful, authentic actor. Sarandon plays the flawed arrogant mom well
And yet it feels disjointed at times.
Overall though, I enjoyed it.
Beware of Pity (1946)
This is an absolute gem.
Not for everyone because it is sad but the acting is superb. The message is from a time where love had a different meaning. It makes you think. It makes you uncomfortable and the photography is perfection.
I hope you have the opportunity of viewing this wonderful and challenging film. Bravo.
The Truth About the Harry Quebert Affair (2018)
Excellent mystery drama.
This is a well crafted, well acted mini series. I'm not understanding some of the negative reviews. I watch a lot of mini series and this is up there at the top of my list. The acting is excellent throughout. I really enjoyed it!
Blind (2016)
Very Pleasing Film
Don't let the bad reviews keep you from enjoying this interesting film with subtle and yet strong performances. The photography is great. I'm not always a fan of Mr. Baldwin but this shows how talented he is. He is reserved and powerful as is Miss Moore. I loved it.
Possessed (1947)
Perfect role for this talented actress
This is the perfect actress for this part. She never misses a beat. There is not a false note about her.
Watch her eyes, her tone of voice and her body language every time she sees Van Heflin. Obsession.
Unrequited love turning to hate drop by stop.
I loved this movie. It makes you uncomfortable. Wow. Get ready.
After Life (2019)
What a soul you have Ricky
This is absolutely marvelous. This man is a freakin comedic genius. I just lost me mum. Nails how it feels.
Do not miss.
Lo sbarco di Anzio (1968)
Awful
Empty and shallow telling of a bloody siege. Music is ridiculous for a war film of this nature. Short scene of a white dog broke the boredom.
The budget must have been small. Peter Falk was not up to his other roles. Mitchum spouts rhetoric about the futility of war. Arthur Kennedy is miscast.
Too bad. I wanted to learn more about that campaign. Not satisfied on any level.
