Cabin Girl (2023)
Not what I expected
After reading reviews, the film sounded pretty decent.
When I saw the star rating, I thought, well, most horror movies don't always get a good rating, so I never really trust the ratings.
This film was definitely not what I expected.
Did have a good twist, but it was very average.
I wouldn't say this was scare whatsoever.
The storyline is average too.
Would I recommend this?
Probably not. It's the kind of film where you watch it, think.. "er, well, it's ok" but it's not something I'd watch again, nor will I probably remember.
The sad thing is, is that this film could have been so much better if it was written a bit better.
I just feel like the whole thing "could have been better".
Prey for the Devil (2022)
Totally underrated
This is a brilliant storyline about a sister who has a curiosity for the devil that resides within others.
Fantastic twists and turns and I'm saddened to see it has such a low rating and metascore.
It definitely deserves more positivity that it has recieved.
I have watched quite a lot of films that follow a similar narrative and this absolutely is one of the good ones.
Yes, it may not be as good as the original exorcist or the popes exorcist, but its up there.
I only hope that the score and reviews has not put the writers, producers and directors off doing a sequel, which there is room for with this film.
I don't want to spoil it for others by giving a detailed account of what happens in the film, but it is worth watching.
Avatar: The Way of Water (2022)
So underrated!!!
I absolutely loved the first film and I had really high hopes for the 2nd.
When it first came out, people were saying that it was "ok" and "it's alright, but its a bit long".
But wow, what a film!
Just as fantastic as the first film, if not better.
James Cameron never fails to direct a belter and he did not disappoint.
A brilliant storyline, from start to finish.
Now I can't wait for the next one, I just hope he doesn't leave it as long this time!
I feel like I waited forever for this film to come out, but it was well worth the wait.
I don't want to give anything away, or post any spoilers, but you guys are in for a real treat with this one!
Extinction (2018)
This film is so underrated
I thought the film was brilliant. The plot twist was fantastic.
I thought how it was set as Humans Vs AI was a really good story line.
At first you thought it was Humans Vs Aliens, but the plot thickens...
We see a movie full of action and survival. And how the "humans" actually turn out to be AI and they have their memories wiped so they don't live in fear was just a snippet of detail that made the whole story make sense.
The ongoing war between human and AI continues. I do hope at some point there is a sequel, or even a prequel.
The director could go somewhere with this...
Definitely worth a watch!
Anaconda (1997)
How did a director with a fantastic casting get it so wrong?
So, the casting of this film is absolutely brilliant. Some of the best actors in 1 film.
I have to give the film some credit for that, and a bit of leeway for the fact that it was a 90s film.
The CGI is laughable, the representation and accuracy of the snake is atrocious. Since when did you hear any snake, ever, screech. Hahaa omg!
The film is called 'anaconda' so it should represent the actual snake, the green anaconda. Not only does it not even look like a green anaconda, but ita the size of a titaniaboa. Which wasn't even discovered until 12 after this film.
The snake in this film regurgitates its food every 5 minutes and seems to always be hungry?
It's been scientifically proven that anacondas cannot eat humans, yet this snake prefers human food.
Eric Stoltz character conveniently wakes from a coma, aftert the whole ordeal at the end.
The story line is just ridiculous. BUT. The film is so bad, its good!
It's basically Jaws, but snake form.
Would I recommend it? Yea, probably, but just as a 1 off.

Addictive
I don't know why everyone's bashing the lead actor. I thought he played his part pretty well.
It is a slow burner, it's not amazing, but it is good.i definitely got invested into this and now I want another series to find out what happened to the characters in the end.
Lots of unanswered questions, which means it was a good show.
I would never advertise this as a horror, more of a psychological mystery with some supernatural parts.
I actually hope there is a 2nd series. Wasn't bad at all!
The Matrix Resurrections (2021)
Better than I expected
I was excited but kind of dreading watching this.
Sometimes when they release a new movie or a reboot, it can be really bad, or just simply disappointing.
This did not disappoint at all.
Brilliant references to the original films, explained a lot of unanswered questions. Great casting. I can't wait fornthe next movie.
Only downside is, I really wish they had the original morphius in the film.
Dark (2017)
The most confusing and addicted series yet
Series 1 starts off really great, every episode ends on a cliffhanger and you cant help but continue to watch. Your itching to find out what happens. Its like this in every single episode.
The only downside to this TV series is how bloody confusing it is.
Different time lines, different but the same characters, different worlds all go back and forth. You do get a bit lost in whats going on. Definitely a series you have to watch more than once, but i recommend it all the same, well worth a watch!
Marianne: On est mardi (2019)
What the hell?
Did the writers and directors run out of money on this episode?
The plot was very good. But the effects were shocking! It totally went from gripping, thrilling, scary to ridiculous and laughable in an instant!
Totally spoilt it for me.
Jamestown (2017)
I really don't know?
This series was brilliant. I really enjoyed it. Except the last episode. What an absolute let down.
I rate this an 8 as a series but the last episode I rate a 3, max!
Such a disappointing end to a good series!
