Falling Inn Love (2019)
Worse than a hallmark movie
None of the characters had any personalities whatsoever. 2-D characters. I rolled my eyes at the forced cookie cutter gay couple. Yay diversity! The acting is stale, the script is cringey. The jokes are bad. So the comedy and the romance is not there. Also, very unrealistic. We are supposed to believe that a well to do grounded young woman would uplift her life to travel alll the way to New Zealand because she won a sketchy online contest for an inn?? And if the great grandson was so eager to get the inn off his hands why would he not just give it to Charlotte instead of wasting his energy creating an online contest . And we're supposed to believe anyone would be dumb enough to give a whole inn and piece of land away, for free. Yeah right. I was almost done with the film but had to turn it off. Yeah, it was that bad.
Running Out Of Time (2018)
Watched it for the laughs
The woman main character walked around in front of her husband's killers in her underwear for no particular reason at all. Terrible movie but funny when you watch it with friends and can laugh about how bad it is.
Bird Box (2018)
So many Questions
What are these supernatural entities ? Why after five years has no one researched anything about the cause of them ? Why did Felix and the cop girl leave ? Did they make it ? How come some people are immune to the thing and become psychos and some die ? How did the kids know how to swim on the lake if they've never even seen water?? How did Tom not knock up Sandra Bullock after five years ? How is the electricity and water still running after five years ? Why are birds the only ones that can sense it? Can other animals too? Do the supernatural entities come out at night ? Why at the end at the blind compound can they now go outside freely ? Too many loose ends and unanswered questions.
The Kissing Booth (2018)
I probably rolled my eyes 156789 times during this movie
This movie was so stereotypical and cliched that it borders on being a parody. We have the hot player bad boy who likes to fight and skip school but somehow gets into Harvard?? The kinda dweeby but supposed to be quirky adorable girl who falls for said hot bad boy that happens to be her best friend's brother. The mean girls and don't forget the token black guy! None of the characters had any substance whatsoever. To make it worse the acting was mediocre, the dialogue was cringey and hard to listen to, and the love interests had no chemistry and an incredibly awkward height difference. The dude is like 6'4 and the girl a good 5'3. Ugh that bothered me so much. To top it all off the movie was very mysgonistic and sexually exploitative. The girl Elle took off her clothes at least 100 times in the film to the pleasure of a crowd of googling teenage guys. She is encouraged by her best friend to go on a date with a guy who sexually assaulted her by slapping her on the butt. And her lover Noah isn't any better. He victim shames her by saying she asked to get assaulted when she wore such a short skirt. What?? He's also very manipulative and controlling and clearly has anger issues as he has to fight every single guy that gets ten feet within Elle. Not a good message for young girls at all! It was so icky. I watched this because as an eighteen year old I love sappy teen movies like She's All That and Ten Things I Hate About You but this movie is definitely not like them. It completely missed the mark.
Mooz-Lum (2010)
Horrible pointless movie!
So when first clicking on this movie I had really high expectations of it I thought it would be about a Muslim boy struggling with his faith as he navigates his mostly non-Muslim college and the challenges and temptations he faces couple that with the rising tensions with Muslims because of the 9/11 attacks Instead I got a BORING movie with a BORING (not to mention horrible) script and seemingly no point whatsoever to it they only introduce the 9/11 attacks in the last 20 minutes of the movie and even then don't explore the topic! Plus there was horrendous acting and 1 dimensional characters with NO personalities! And it was so stereotypical! white racist douche bag guys, goody two shoes Muslims, and strict Muslim parents? Seriously?
who wrote this movie? A child? The ONLY reason I gave this two stars is because I was being generous and because of Nia long who's acting was spectacular as always
