Awkwafina Is Nora from Queens (2020)
NSFW, dripping with raunchy humor but surprisingly sweet and emotionally open
Look, I'll be honest. This show isn't for everyone, and there for sure will be a massive group of people who'll absolutely hate it.
Just keep in mind, if strip away the sexual innuendos, the existential crisis and wackiness in Nora's life, the show really allows its heartwarming moments shine through as long as you're not too put off by the TMI dialogues.
The Boys (2019)
I love this show
Having to live such a Marvel/Disney dominated world, this show is the perfect remedy for someone like me, who is easily, utterly (though not always) tired of the average-superhero
This series is dark, violent, hilarious with surprisingly a lot of heart. It still kept much of that Garth Ennis essence but have certain adjustments of their own that make it just as great as the comics, if not even better. Amazing cast, VFX and script. There are a lot of scenes that are ridiculously brutal but never felt like they were for shock value.
It's personally very difficult for me to find a series that I truly enjoy, because I'm just picky like that. I'm glad that I've found this show and definitely recommend it, rather you're a fan of the original comics or not.
Dead Pigs (2018)
A multi-generational Chinese family struggles between tradition and modernity
Chinese-American director Cathy Yan's delightful, spiky, comic debut about overlapping lives and interlocking misfortunes in modern China.
In the Chinese zodiac, the happy-go-lucky pig stands for good fortune and wealth. So an inexplicable epidemic that decimates the porcine population in a developing part of China still heavily reliant on pig farming, could be symbolically as well as literally disastrous, and it provides Cathy Yan's sprawling, bouncing, jaunty debut with its darkest images.
When a flotilla of porcine carcasses bobbed through China's waterways in 2013, it demonstrated the country's modern dilemma: the difficulties of balancing traditional, rural ways with its ceaseless push towards the future. Taking inspiration from the headline-grabbing real-life events for her first feature, writer/director Cathy Yan ponders that juxtaposition through a quintet of Shanghai residents with interconnected lives. While the titular animals might not fly in the Sundance-bowing Dead Pigs, they certainly do drift through the lives of its searching, yearning characters.
Yan's DEAD PIGS is a portrait of humanity in a country that has adopted an attitude of modernizing at all costs. Full of dark images, but paired with a jaunty, delightful humor, DEAD PIGS veritably bounces in contrast to the social realism that has come to characterize popular arthouse in China today.
Incredibles 2 (2018)
Better than Infinity War!
Funny, heartwarming, action-packed and for some people, nostalgic. I went in the cinemas with high expectations and then came out extremely happy. The heart of the sequel is, thankfully, the same from the first movie: the family dynamic, which makes the humor of the movie.
The Incredibles 2 has set out a whole new genre for superhero movies and, without a doubt, better than most superhero movies in 2018, whether it's Fox or Marvel.
Avengers: Infinity War (2018)
I... just don't know
I want to say I loved it but I just can't.
Too long, too many characters and the plot is just a lot like the other movies from the MCU: predictable.
The actors were amazing, though.

Wonder Woman (2017)
Best comic film I've seen!!
Go and watch it! It's the best addition to the DCEU yet! Gal and Chris have great chemistry, all the actors' performances are superb, the music was MAGICAL, and when the film ended, I wanted more.
But I suggest not to bring your little ones to see it, though. There are war scenes that may be too intense for them.
I personally loved watching it, and I plan to watch it again for the THIRD time in the cinemas this weekend!
Suicide Squad (2016)
What's with the hate and harsh words?
I really don't get it, and to be honest I don't think it's fair for the people who have worked on this movie at all. My friend and I watched the Suicide Squad in the cinema, and we had a great time!
Sure, the movie's not perfect, it's got flaws, and not quite as good as I expected, (I may have over-hyped it) but it's not nearly as bad as the critics were saying!
Plus you can't entirely blame David Ayer, the director. After all, he was only given six weeks to write the script. Not to mention the Warner Bros, Studio have developed a bad habit at meddling with recent DC movies. (BvS? Ring any bells?) So I can't wait till I get my hands on the extended cut.
Gotta hand it to the cast, by the way, and the dynamic they have off- screen is so heart-warming! They looked like they had the most fun while filming, so I'm really hoping there will be future SS projects, just to see them together again.
