Route 60: The Biblical Highway (2023)
Well done
I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. It was very peaceful and heartwarming. You get to walk through the scriptures of the bible with these strong men of faith and character. They invite you in as though you are walking the streets, visiting each site with them. I loved how they emphasized the importance of relationship with God for all mankind and how we have strived with God since the beginning of time. They provided their own personal testimonies at various stops which was very inspiring and reminded us how us how hard work and faith in God can bring about prosperity and success and on the flip side disobedience can bring destruction and pain. It was also nice to see all the good work the Trump administration did for Israel and the rest of the world.
Sweet Inspirations (2019)
The best movie I've seen in a long time!
This is a great family friendly movie that has great purpose and great acting. I laughed, cried, got angry, laughed some more and cried some more. The characters just come to life and seem so real. I felt like I was watching my own friends and family members! There's something in it for everyone to take away including the importance of looking out for your neighbors and community, never giving up on love, the importance of transparency, confessing your faults, forgiveness is essential if you want to be forgiven and move forward but most importantly it reminds you of the importance of trusting God no matter what life brings you and the power of prayer.
Jesus (1999)
Hollywood not Factual
Annoying. I was hoping to see a biblical account of the life of Jesus. Didn't make it though the first 10 mins. Don't waste your time with s this fictional depiction and a bunch of fluff unless that's what you're into. I don't play with God.
Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul (2017)
Better than expected
Wanted to take my 6 year old to the movies and it was either this or boss baby. After reading reviews for Boss Baby I knew that was totally inappropriate for a 6 year old. So I read reviews, then watched the trailer and then watched it with my son to see if he would be interested. He wanted to see it and I am glad we did over the other. Dad and I cracked up more than him! It was so funny and for the most part decent throughout considering what's out here nowadays . No cursing, some what the hecks or oh my G. A few not so nice things were said and there was some disrespect shown to the parents. Things like talking back, outright disregarding directions, lying and hiding things behind moms back. Dad even got in on a lie at one point to cover his own self which wasn't setting a good example. No grown up scenes. At one point a picture was shown of a woman in a skimpy suit and the older brother got excited asking if "they" were real. The younger brother assumed his brother was talking about her weapons and discussed those instead. Good focus on the importance of spending time with your loved ones and the negative impact of too much social media.
Finding Dory (2016)
Nice, clean, family fun
This movie was definitely a 10 star! Absolutely superb...every moment of this movie, my son, my daughter and I enjoyed. In my opinion, this movie was a decent clean film for the entire family. Finally a children's movie where I left out saying there was not one inappropriate moment. I've noticed so many children's movies have humor that is not appropriate for the age bracket or the humor is crude, in my opinion. Felt good and refreshing. The movie was funny, and had it's sentimental moments. It was just about the cutest thing ever. I would definitely recommend to all ages and hope to see Disney make more movies like this in the future. The actors were right on and although there were a few slow parts, the good so outweighed those moments.
Grace Unplugged (2013)
Amazing Grace!
Loved, loved, loved this movie! It is so real and I'm sure that many Christian families can relate to it. We try so hard to protect our children and shield them from what we know isn't good from our own experiences in life. Sometimes we try too hard and forget who really is in control. God! This movie reminds us that He is in control and that we need to put all of our faith, hope, and trust in Him for our children and not in ourselves. The bible tells us to train our children up in the way in which they should go and they won't depart from it. Satan will try his hand but like this movie portrays he will not succeed in his efforts with those children who have parents who have instilled the Word of God in them and who trust God for their lives and who pray for them.
Acting was really good. I cried so much in this movie because it was so believable, like I was watching a family that I knew. I would've given this movie a 10 if it included the family praying. I found it strange that there wasn't at least one instance of prayer or reference to Jesus' name. But overall it was an excellent movie about faith in God and doing what's right and what pleases Him because that is what gives us true peace and joy in the end.
War Room (2015)
Ready to see it a third time!
This movie is POWERFUL and life changing. Why is that? Because it does not compromise the Word of God and it is so real. The bible tells us the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. And again, this movie gives you the Word of God straight up which for true Christians who love the Word of God is PERFECT. I highly recommend this movie for everyone but especially those who are looking to grow up in Christ and are ready to receive the full benefits that come from a powerful prayer life. Husbands and wives, mothers and daughters, fathers and sons, families, church groups, get out together to see this movie then go home to make your own War Rooms. More prayer, more power!
