Silo (2023)
Brilliant sci-fi which lost 1 star thanks to actor Common
I'm glad I'm not the only one that sees the issue here. Few people mentioned in their reviews of Common ruining every scene he's in. And I totaly get it. The only actor doesn't fit in is him. Everyone is so nerve gripping to watch, but watching him makes me cringe. He should've been taken off the the season two, if producers are looking for 10 stars from me. Other than this, it's a really good sci-fi with wholesome twists. It has a good pace and I was really hoping for it to fully explore all the avenues of the storyline. There are so many unknowns and unanswered questions. I can't wait for season two!
Willow (2022)
Bellow my low expectations
I usually go to IMDB and check the ratings before watching anything nowadays as most of the films and series are just garbage for masses.
Well sad as it is, this isn't an exception.
I've seen a trailer which looked promising, not reading a reviews or ratings on this before heading towards first episode.
It had an intriguing and hopeful start after watching a first episode, but a really fast fall to dullness happened after that.
It was at the end of the Ep1, where the fairly notable character, the protector of the Prince fell in an attack and no one seemed to address it. It was strange and arrogant. It immediately followed by the somewhat not suitable music at end credits, it didn't fit at all for this type of fantasy film, if at least that what it's claim to be.
All fans of Warrick Davis please forgive me for saying this. His acting is totaly emotionless. I feel nothing from his character. It makes me cringe when he speaks or acts.
Cheap sarcastic jokes are also undesirable from most characters.
However wrote this should to be sacked.
The original Willow was miles better than this.
Ambulance (2022)
Jesus help us all
One hour of the camerman's work gave me headache, never seen camera pacing so fast around from all possible angles, just awful. That's just a begining.
Actors acting unrealistically, everyone carrys on massive bucket of egoism. The cry for attention is fairly unbelievable.
The story isn't not the best either. Going to Rob a bank? No plan, no problem. Just shoot at everything that moves. Also don't forget to be as cocky as it's humanly possible and choose the biggest, stupidest buddies to help you Rob that bank so you'll definitely won't make it out alive.
The dialogue, if any, oh c'mon give me a break!
I'm off to watch Peppa Pig instead.
The Old Man: VII (2022)
Why? What?
I'm sorry. What am I missing here? Everything!
First two even three episodes in I was leaving the score of above 8. It just literally start losing a star as we progressed with each and every episode.
The story is losing steam, if it hasn't run out of it already. It has become boring, long. Dialog is so slow and repetitiveness is killing me. Constantly going back and forth, arggh.. Just make it stop!
When episode 7 hit, I just couldn't belive it was left opened like this. Who does that? It litteraly feels like they just run out of ideas so it was painfully prolonged and then when you endlessly waiting for an end you find out that it will be revealed in the next season? Like seriously? Most ridiculous ending I have seen in a while.
Cliffhanger of a dead cat.
Andor (2022)
Disney nailed this
We know it's a prequel to Rogue One. We know Andor will make it. What we didn't know that Disney can make this series to be most enjoyable whether you are Star Wars fan or not.
I absolutely love it. It seems to be getting better and better by every episode. The rawness of some scenes and core simplicity of the Star Wars story itself is to be desired in most Star Wars movies. Not in this one though.
Another thing worth mentioning is the choice of audio producer and soundtrack. The way the story is being told is followed by the music masterpiece that every episdoe is accompanied by.
I enjoyed Mandalorian, but this is so much better!
Great job Disney!
The Peripheral (2022)
Sci-fi Awesomeness
I'm a sci-fi fan. I like good twists and sci-fi combo genres and it has been a while since a good movie or series got made.
This piece definitely deserves some attention. It looks and feels realistic, no stupid over exaggeration. It is being served to you simply at first without complicated words or plots.
What is also really enjoyable to see how authors sees the future, no extravagant future if you ask me. Same old surroundings with tech on another level, that's how I portraited it myself.
Another important thing to mention would be that my partner who isn't tech savvy nor sci-fi fan, she found it enjoyable to watch too. She said it isn't being rushed in using fancy tech words to confuse to hell out of you just make it look more cool.
Well, two episodes in and I can't wait to see more. I will change the rating accordingly to what other episodes might bring.
Thirteen Lives (2022)
Excellent film
Even though I knew the ending and what will happened, it was nevertheless gripping to the last minute. Superbly executed movie piece with really good acting!
It was so good in fact, I gonna watch it again with my wife this weekend.
Locke & Key (2020)
Dumb script
I enjoyed first 2/3 of the Season 1. Then, it just slowly but gradually went to the loo.
Whoever wrote the script for the 2nd and 3rd season never lived in the real world and everyone must have been quite uneducated (dumb) around that person's life while growing up.
Real life situations are made to feel you so stupid to the point you cannot watch this without being utterly frustrated. Dumb situations, dumb reactions, dumb solutions.
Acting hasn't improved either to gain more credibility, quite the opposite.
It should've have never made it to Season 3. It should've died with Season 2 as the unrevivable fiasco, with 1st Season remaining somewhat good.
Ps: Full disclosure, I have watched it to S3: E4, and couldn't go any further, I just couldn't.
Keep Breathing (2022)
Kept falling asleep... Too long, too slow
Ok, so I kinda liked it. Would've rate this somewhere in region of 6 until we've reached somewhere passing half of the 4th episode, after this it was unwatchable. Kept falling asleep. The loooong repetitive scene in cave in episode 5, killed it for me.
It is a slow and long movie, and it didn't bother me at first, but it just got a bit ridiculous in episode 5 and 6. Couldn't watch it at night. Repetitiveness of slow dialog which was going on and on and on. Sorry but no!
Money Heist: Korea - Joint Economic Area (2022)
Nah. Very poorly executed remake
I was expecting something new, but it was just a remake and not a good interpretation. Not worth your or my time. Watch the original instead, much better and you'll enjoy every minute.
The Matrix Resurrections (2021)
I couldn't get passed 60 minutes
Let me start with this.
I love Original Matrix. It remains one of the best sci-fi movies of 20th century for me. I also like Reloaded and Revolutions.
Resurrections is garbage, cheap feel B movie. I couldn't get passed 60 minutes of this. Nothing is working. Badly written mambo jambo Sense8 script with nonsensical scenes. Rubbish dialogue.
I was waiting for 60 minutes to get sucked into the storyline, but quite the opposite was happening. I was drifting away minute by minute to the point when I didn't really care what was happening on the screen.
One Hour in and I've fled the scene ....
The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window (2022)
What did I just watch?
To summarize. I have wasted hours of my life watching this nonsense.
Is this movie trying to be funny or clever or quirky? I duno, but it's neither. It's damn right boring, stupid and pointless. Aven acting is appealing. No, definitely not recommending it to anyone.
The Matrix (1999)
I've seen this movie first time in 1999
Yes I'm old. I've never seen a better sci-fi movie until I've seen "The Matrix" in 1999. Since then, I've seen it that many times that I just simply stop counting.
Update: Just watched new Resurrections and it was so bad I could get passed 1 hour, it was painfully bad. So thinking maybe it's me and something has changed within me I had to watch the Original film from 1999.
Nope, still the best film out there. New one sucks hard! Don't watch it! Forget it exist! Thank me later.
The Curse (2022)
Stupid meets new stupidity
Comedy? I think that genre is rewriting the meaning of itself year by year. I remember times when I could actually uncontrollably laugh while watching a comedy movie. Just when I thought Holywood was bad at making a comedies, this came out. Call it whatever you want, but this ain't no comedy geezer.
Boss Level (2020)
Massively underrated
I don't understand how is this so underrated. I have to say I loved it. The only thing that spoiled it for me was the ending. I guess I just wasn't ready to switch off and get of the couch.
Clarkson's Farm (2021)
I have never binge-watched anything before this
I have maybe seen an episode or two of countryfile or similar shows. But it never got me interested.
I thought this is gonna be some stupid attempt of trying to make fun of farmers by Orangutan Clarkson.
I was wrong! Genuinely enjoyed every episode and literally binge-watched first series, which I have never done in my life.
What have I learnt? Farming is expensive and hard and emotional... I loved it!
Already planning to watch it again with my partner.
