The Man from Earth: Holocene (2017)
It's okay
It's an okay movie. Disappointing sequel though. The ending makes it seem almost comedic. Though I did really like the part where one of the teens wanted to have sex with John. That was hot. If they had done it then this would be a 8/10.
Anyway, you really don't need to watch this. But if you do, then get ready for a possible third one. This second one came out 10 years after the first one. Maybe the third one comes out in 2027? Which would be 4 years from now. We'll see.
It really is weird that there was a sequel to "The Man From Earth." It seemed like such a fantastic self contained story.
The Man from Earth (2007)
Masterpiece
This movie is a masterpiece. It's about a man telling a story. And a group of people who aren't sure if they believe it or not..
The dialogue is brilliant. And so is the acting. The idea of the movie is simple, and the execution pretty much perfect. It presents an idea which really gets you thinking, and does it so well. I highly recommend this movie to anyone. Don't get distracted by anything. Just watch. And the ending song "Forever" by Chantelle Duncan is so fitting and so beautiful that you might shed some tears at the end.
It truly is a beautiful movie. One of a kind. A true must watch.

Good movie
It's a good movie taking place mostly in a sauna. For Finnish people this is a really familiar setting since pretty much all of our homes here have saunas. And if you are in one for too long you know how it feels like. I really felt the claustrophobic and stressful atmosphere. Honestly the movie could've probably been even shorter than 1 hour 30 minutes, but then again, maybe the length added to the stressful feel the movie went for.
If you don't have much experience with saunas (or at all) this movie might not seem as intense as it really is. But as a sauna lover, this felt very realistic and terrifying.
By the way, visit a sauna when you can. They are mostly just very relaxing places.
Europa Report (2013)
Great movie
Crew sets course to one of Jupiter's moons, Europa. Stuff happens.
This is a great movie. It feels really realistic and grounded, yet still so exciting and interesting. It truly gets you thinking what's out there, and what could happen once we finally properly start exploring our solar system and beyond.
In terms of enjoyment this is a great 8/10. But I feel like it succeeds so well in what it tells us that I bump it to 9/10.
It sucks that we aren't at the point of humanity where we are sending people to other celestial objects, but one day we will, and I hope that we get to see it. Great film.
Would You Rather (2012)
Great movie
This is a great horror movie. The pacing was really good, the parts of the "game" were well done, and the acting was good. I'm sad that there aren't multiple sequels to this. This is a really interesting concept.
My issue: It's weird how they didn't address the fact that the winner can just go to the police and expose them. The winner of the previous game was able to come to the mansion with a gun so it's not like they're even keeping surveillance of the winners or anything. Weird.
I would've liked to see the people pay for what they did. Well, Iris did pay at the end, but the main bad guys as well. If they had been killed then this would've probably been a 9/10 for me.
But still, it's very good.
Old (2021)
Great movie
This is a great movie with a really interesting and unique premise. M. Night Shyamalan seems to be a controversial figure in terms of the quality of his movies, but I definitely liked this one a lot.
All the actors and actresses were good and hot, there were some great "UOOOOH" shots (hehe) in the film, and all in all it was well made and interesting.
The ending was good too although it seemed a bit rushed.
If you like weird and unique films then this is definitely one that you should watch. I'm surprised at the amount of people who don't like it. Watch this with an open mind and you'll definitely enjoy it.
Exam (2009)
Great movie
Great movie, and I didn't see the ending coming, so that's a nice surprise as well.
I will say that the journey to get to the ending, although good, wasn't as great as the ending itself, but still very enjoyable.
Exam is one of those "people in a room" kind of movies and definitely one of the best. The actors are good, the premise is intriguing, and the execution is about as good as it can be for a movie where the setting takes place in such a limited space. The way it ends might seem a bit convoluted but it's really simple, you just have to pay attention.
We need more movies like this one.
Skinamarink (2022)
Initially 5/10, 6/10 after I understood the plot
The kids are trapped in a pocket dimension by a demon who can control time and space. It torments them, mostly emotionally, just for fun. Think the way you play with a pet mouse or hamster, putting your hand in its way so I has to go around you, or picking it up and putting it back where it started when It's trying to get somewhere. Or better yet, playing The Sims. The demon removes doors from where they were, trapping the kids in rooms, removes their toilet, sticks their toys on the ceiling where they can't reach them. Creates copies of their parents to torture them with. Ending shows the demon torments the kids for years at a time and has done it to a countless number of kids over eternity.
Moonfall (2022)
Not very good
The only things I liked were the idea of moon falling on earth and some special effects.
By the way, what's up with terrible random Asian characters in recent films? The one in the newest Star Wars films and the one here were such random additions with hilariously bad and random scenes.
