Us (2019)
Terrible red headed middle child of a trilogy of good films
Get out and Nope especially absolutely MOG this movie its just unfinished in the script department. Then some truely horrendous writing, stilted and dumb dialogue then absolutely silly voices and on the nose social commentary. Dumb.
OH! And that ending? Its just so silly and yet overdone.

The Book of Boba Fett (2021)
Terrible
Mando is the polar opposite to this. This show is terrible its disjointed slow wastes time on stupid stuff long stretches where nothing happens the action is all over the place and feels more like spy kids than star wars, some horrific acting dull characters.
If this wasnt starwars it would be cancelled after 1 season and forgotten.
The only redeeming features are the visuals and sound design and the massive set but everything else is trash, just terrible star wars holiday special tier, boba fett has no gravitas as a character in his own show, the actor is just too old and cant deliver his lines well, same goes for most of the cast.'
What a waste, your better off just skipping over this.
The Third Day (2020)
Great until half way in
And then it disappeared up its own arse and doesn't really explain anything.
The Outsider (2018)
Very very underated
If you like movies like Eastern promises you will love this, strange things have been going on with critical reviews of Netflix movies lately and considering RT have this a laughable 10% critical when the audience score was 81% is completely stupid.
This is a very well made movie that evokes similar feelings to the last samurai while excelling in not just story but also more modern editing and kinomatrography, acting, lighting, great soundtrack as well as a nice moody atmosphere.
Jared Leto who lets be honest has a tendency to over act is great in the role which calls for more subdued acting.
Is it a perfect movie ? Almost i'd put it right up there with the best crime thrillers and mob dramas.
Some may find the editing a bit unusual but i liked the pacing and it fit the setting of 50's japan very well
Please anyone who wants to watch this please do dont pay attention to the critics the mouse is trying to rubbish good movies like this.
Marrowbone (2017)
Well this is a strange movie
On the one hand its beautifully made the cinematography, direction acting and sound design is great.
Where the movie is let down sadly is a frankly underdeveloped story which fizzles out after the predictable tweest at the end that would make M Night Shamaylan blush.
Is it worth a watch? Absolutely if you liked the Orphanage and want a bit of a different horror movie thats more of a slow boil then a balls to the wall action horror movie like the over rated It remake.
The ending isnt the weakest part of the movie by the way its the twist before it, the ending itself is charming and quite nice but as other reviewers have said it is a definite weak point of the story.
Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi (2017)
the worst send off to the original trilogy yet
And you thought the prequels where bad? They look like classic poetry compared to Disney's lazy calculated writing what they did to Luke Skywalker is absolutely abborent and totally out of character even mark Hamill said he fundamentally disagreed with rain Johnson Disney and the script in regards to his character.
No questions brought up in tfa are answered and literally just skipped over AGAIN
1/10
The movie was long winded at 2hr 35 mins but I left with more questions than answers.
Only good part of the movie is Adam driver as ben solo kylo Ren thats it.
The Orville (2017)
The Critics are completely out of touch, this is great
If you've been pining for older style trek shows that arnt all edgy dark boors and want something closer to the original series and TNG look no further
This is a competently made well directed first episode from John Faverau and some nice writing and acting all around
Visually its quite nice and the familiar "cheap sets" from the 90's shows are well made even if they still look cheap on HD cameras.
As others have said the jokes need work and are the weakest part of the show and non trekkies probably wont appreciate this series as much as those who are well versed in trek.
This show gets a lot of things right, the writing is good, the characters are good the actors are good and it legitimately FEELs more trek than the series has seen in over a decade.
Will fox cancel this ? Who knows i hope not.
Sandy Wexler (2017)
If you wanted a old school 90's comedy you got it HA HAAA
IF you wanted anything MORE then that this really isn't the movie for you.
So imagine Big Daddy is a Jewish talent agent with typical sandler hi-jinks.
I dunno why this had such sheet ratings because it is actually quite straight up and funny.
If you don't like Oldschool 1990's style comedies just keep on keeping on and stay clear of Happy Madison films.
7/10
Kubo and the Two Strings (2016)
A feast for the eyes, a famine for the soul.
The visuals are gorgeous, the best hand made animation i have seen to date
BUT
Everything else
Not so good looking i am afraid.
The dialogue is heavy and clunky
The characters are stereotypical and mostly flat, any development is brushed aside in favor of the setpeices, which while gorgeous cannot carry a animated movie alone
The Generic script really drags the movie down and most of the voice actors talent is wasted on exposition heavy lines and clichés
Such a shame Laika cant quite get their storytelling as good as their artistic style because this movie is absolutely drop dead stunningly amazing to look at.
Anyone else feel the same way? I just feel it really wasn't fleshed out fully in terms of what should have been done, the ending was and most of the screen time was focused on everything but character development.
To put things in perspective Coraline, while visually dated has a 10/10 story and even weaker movies like Kung Fu Panda 1 and Mulan have a much more stable and cohesive
Black Mirror: Playtest (2016)
Absolutely terrifying, brilliantly made classic black mirror
You know what after the first episode i was a bit put off thinking black mirror had lost its charlie brooker-ness but NOPE literally this episode is bloody scary and really well made.
The Visuals are amazing
The sound are amazing
The concept is largely very original and done in a very creepy of putting way.
It starts off very annoying much like the first episode then quickly takes a dark turn, i wont give too much away only to say its typical black mirror mind fackery.
10/10 absolutely freaked me out.
Don't Breathe (2016)
A good Disturbia like movie with great acting and a decent script, well made.
also entertaining and silly to the point of being funny in parts
Pretty over-hyped and Spoilers Steven Langs Character sustained enough blunt head trauma to give anyone brain damage yet is perfectly fine, i just cant get past it took me out of the movie its just too much.
The movie its fine until about 3/4 of the way in then it loses the plot it just got a bit stupid.
That said the turkey baster scene was hilarious especially when he had it shoved back down his mouth bahahahahah.
As for the whole feminist angle i mean its a bit silly realistically Jane Levys character would be dead as soon as he woke up would have heard/smelt her (does he facking randomly get his sense of smell back)?
I know girls like to wear strong perfume i am surprised they didn't bring that angle into it.
Movie is sort of predictable but at least it looks nice and sounds great.
It does enough right to set it apart from a lot of other movies.
7/10
+Jane Levy +Gore +Fun +Doge Rottwhilers are awesome +Tense +So stupid its fun in parts +Acting from Lange and Levy is great
-Predictable in parts -Silly ending -Turn your brain off in parts
Vice Principals (2016)
Only seen the pilot but this is EXTREMELY funny well made and very well written
If you loved eastbound and down and McBride's other projects
you will RAPE this its very funny and awesome to watch i really enjoyed it Danny
McBride and Walton Goggins are ON point and have very noticeable and great chemistry.
And its HBO so you know what to expect its very well made technically.
Its a simple premise executed flawlessly by the obvious talent behind the scenes and lots of love and effort put into the world as well.
There is a little bit of Undeclared in this as well from the school/student perspective but it mainly focuses on the teachers.
Getting a school of rock vibe as well hopefully a cameo of JB who knows.
10/10
Independence Day: Resurgence (2016)
So bad its good
Look people hype the original up to be the 2nd coming of star wars and in some ways yeah it kinda was (at least better than the terrible prequels)
Fastforward 20 years later and...
Basically its the same movie just bigger better and just as retarded/stupid and FUN as the original.
I loved the original don't get me wrong and this has all the same ingredienants but its missing will smith, the main characters while okay just cant make up for the classic 90's woll smoth.
Straya and Generic Chinese insert cant quite hold the attention of the audience or my brain.
Moving on the visuals are STUNNING i made the happy accident of seeing this in 3D and its gorgeous there's nothing wrong visually with the movie its 10/10 -3/10 for Generic lead(s) and the sidekicks barely make up for it.
It could have been a lot worse so i am glad they had enough sense to make this a decent sequel
All i can say is next time their going GALATIC ;) so this isn't the last we've seen of Independence Day
+Visuals +Sense of Humor +Fun +Jeff Goldblum +President +Original cast sans will smith +Replacement Cast is okay, just. +1990's feels and great sequel -No Will Smith (but at least we don't have to put up with his children yay) -Sillyness that doesn't quite translate well but hay its Independence Day not a normal serious movie -Needed a better protagonist or an actor with more character.
Hardcore Henry (2015)
10/10 ign
As a 'gamer' (a real one who built his PC's from scratch) AND a massive film nerd buff i found this movie amazing the editing and stunt work where on point 100% of the time the movie had no flat spots and it was very solidly made and very well done on a multitude of technical levels.
If you love CRANK 1 2 this is basically a 3rd movie in the series except its even more insane and very very charming.
PLEASE watch this if you love these sort of ballz to the wall funny fun movies.
Think Shoot 'Em Up 2007 crossed with F.E.A.R. crossed with every other video game EVER.
10/10 absolutely love it 4K version when?
watch it now
The Hateful Eight (2015)
The Average Eight
Seriously i know Django (in parts) was silly but overall it was a fun little western that flowed nicely and was very fun to watch.
But this?
Imagine 8 Great actors sitting in a log cabin for 3 hours shooting the Shiite and this is basically all you get, the whole movie only has 30 Min's top of actual stuff going down which normally is a good thing in dialogue heavy movies such as this but this particular cut QT did is so overly long and BORING i could not bring myself not to get bored and nod off
people will probably say i am a stupid millennial blah blah blah you hate QT
NO I Don't
I like his movies hell i LOVE kill bill but this is just boring overly long tripe to be honest.
Even IF he manage to get the movie down to 2 hours or so of running time there is still 90 minutes of worthless crap, people sitting around talking in character (barely, as much as i like Channing Tatum his character was pretty crap and his acting wasn't much better, fun cameo but thats about it)
It feels like its part of a much larger movie that unfortunately just never ends up happening.
Wheres the conclusion, They never get to red rock and they never leave that cabin the whole movie is boring anti climatic wreck that if ANYONE other than QT had made would have just been average but because its made by Quinten Cuckorino they love it.
Go watch Django, The Revenant or something else that is actually good.
8/10 but IF you manage to make it through without sleeping through the boring parts you might not like it, only reason i gave this 8/10 is for meme factors because its going to get spammed 10/10 by shills anyway
This is a long movie and it feels just as long, i want my 3 hours back QT.
In the Heart of the Sea (2015)
A whale of a time
The actual parts set at sea are quite fun and really engaging but every time the movie literally grinds to a halt to remind us OOOOH I'm telling a TALE blah blah blah bits with old Gleason is kind jarring and forced the ending suffers the same fate as well.
Its a competent movie that feels very safe and average but i am hard pressed to see how it could be improved further, the visuals are great the seafaring is great.
No major problems with it at all really if you need to pass away 2 hours i cant think of any better movies to kill time until Star Bores comes out.
If you like Master and Commander and movies like that you will like this as i did but as i said its very stock standard and doesn't really do anything new.
Also Chris Hemsworth, Mate work on ya accents yeah? Almost as bad as Sam Worthinton
