Bitten (2014)
What a Tragedy!
I give it 1 star as the average of the three seasons. Season one is much better than the next two given that 2 and 3 are complete rubbish. Every other scene is half meaningful looks and cheesy music because they don't have enough material to fill 40 minutes of dialogue. Season 3 ended with that skipping ahead montage that signals that there won't be a season 4. It seemed so haphazard that it's obvious they got the cancellation notice as they were filming the last episode of the season. That in itself is a miracle as the show should have been canceled at least a season and a half earlier. In conclusion I hope the author of the books got enough money to make up for the utter embarrassment of this show. Sorry kelley but they turned your books into compost.
Archer (2009)
What happened?
I saw the first 4 episodes of season 7 yesterday and I was severely underwhelmed. Just to double check my perception I looked at the first 4 of the past two seasons and I remember loving them. By comparison season 7 is dull and lacks the side plots of the supporting characters. Also there was no reason to give Lana a long weave. She looks different. And the outfits of the other character have been tweaked. Why? Did they know the scripts were boring and they were hoping to distract us? Probably. I really do hope it gets better as it is a great loss to have this show end like this. If this site keeps reformatting my reviews and asking for ten lines with no paragraph breaks then I will stop reviewing.
The X Files: Mulder & Scully Meet the Were-Monster (2016)
Delighful
When the x-files was announced for a comeback I was afraid I wouldn't be able to appreciate the same format that I was crazy about 20 years ago. But I was worried for no reason. Of course it's not the same. The characters are at different stages in life just like the original audience. Their outlook changed, as it should. I thought this episode was terrific. Whimsical and funny. Mulder goes from automatic believer in the most outrageous explanations to skeptical debunker. Scully goes from reluctant woo woo investigator to excited adventurer. With age comes acceptance of whatever worldview that came about from youthful questioning. Perfect evolution of show, characters and audience. What more can you ask for?
Supernatural: O Brother, Where Art Thou? (2015)
Sam is stupid
Who else has had enough of amara's cleavage. This girl. Seriously I know they didn't have bras before the creation of everything but she is catching up and should look into supportive undergarments. To the producers of supernatural who are actually responsible for her look, you are gross. Moving on to sam's gullibility, really god is sending you instructions on how to capture amara and it involves lucifer. And dean goes along with this plan which involves my least favorite character ever rowena. Good job. I guess they needed a midseason cliff hanger and sam trapped in a cage with lucifer was it. You know I hope he gets tortured, he deserves it. Dean needs to stop making out with amara and kill rowena just to make up for the 5 weeks until the next episode.
Supernatural: Baby (2015)
I love baby
Not having the camera leave the car would ruin most other episodes on most other shows but not this one. The car is like an actual character in the show and at the end when she crashes you wince as if she could feel pain. Sam shoots out the back windshield and you're like nooooo. The episode was that well done. Love the scene where dean stumbles out of the roadhouse and says mistakes were made. My favorite was the whole scene were the deputy ambushes him and dean has to shot, behead and put the head in the cooler and the monster still isn't dead. Each time he thinks he killed it he's so proud of himself then we hear more growls and dean is like OK let's try this again. Castiel's cute condescending tone as he keeps telling dean that is yet again wrong is adorable.
Supernatural: Just My Imagination (2015)
Wee Winchesters
This was a cute episode that provided a break in the must lock the darkness away campaign. They used the same young dean actor from a previous episode which is great for continuity. One of the few benevolent supernatural beings are the imaginary friends called zana. When sam was young he had an imaginary best friend named sully except he was real. This comes as a shock to sam and dean. All the zana in the episode are funny without the cloying acting that's used in kid scenes. Sam centric episodes are not as good as others, so the fact that it was directed by the actor that played gabriel and it was enjoyable says a lot about the great show that is supernatural.
