She-Hulk: Attorney at Law: A Normal Amount of Rage (2022) Season 1, Episode 1

Entertaining

I wasn't really looking forward to She-Hulk. But I gave it a try tonight. I'm in Thailand so it came out a bit earlier here. I enjoyed it.

The best recent comparison might be something like Hawkeye. Some reasonable comedy. Some action scenes. It's not going to win any awards for plot but I found it enjoyable.

Too Much talking, Not Enough Stunts

I've been a Jackass fan since MTV and I enjoyed Jackass Forever. There were some funny moments in 4.5, as well. But.after all the talk about how much good footage they had that didn't make Forever, this had way too much talking and narrative and not enough stunts.

It was much more similar to Jackass 2.5 than 3.5 in that regard. It's still enjoyable to watch. And I don't mind getting the background, but it was a little disappointing to me.

About What I Expected

It was about what I expected. Some good laughs. Some cringey moments. What you hope to see in a Jackass movie.

The only real criticism of this as compared to previous movies is that it lacked the big ending. Jackass 1 had the toy car, Jackass 2 had the limo, Jackass 3 had the bungie poo. It didn't really have that moment. But it was still worth the price of admission.

Mediocre but not terrible

For a finale I found it to be mediocre. It had some things to like though. In general I felt it was like the season as a whole. Not a terrible effort, but nothing that you'll be telling people about 6 months from now.

The Matrix Resurrections (I) (2021)

Not Bad

Matrix Resurrections came out a week early in Asia and I had a chance to check it out earlier today. It's not a bad movie, but it isn't nearly as good as the original film.

I personally found it somewhere between part 2 and 3 in quality. Part 3 was awful though in my opinion so that was a low bar.

The setting and background was amusing. I liked that. The action is good in all the movies though I didn't quite find it on par with the action scenes in Matrix 2.

Story wise though it has some holes. It seemed like they were trying to blow your mind and playing with the fun of the setting a bit but it reminded me a lot of the second film in that regard.

All in all though it's not a bad flick. Just temper your expectations and you will likely enjoy it.

Good Episode

The trippy part was amusing. The teasers will give people a lot to talk about. Overall a good episode in a season that has been a bounce back for the series.
