This movie brought me to tears several times. I wept when young Hannah walked into the drama class and said to Coach Harrison, "Ask me who I am." When she proclaimed what she knew that the LORD Jesus had done for her, I was a bucket of water! I also wept when she collapsed at the finish line. I was screaming because I felt like she could not have come all that way just to lose. This was such a touching movie. The emotional elements are almost overwhelming. Because I have seen every Kendrick Brothers movie, I knew to expect the film to deal with difficult topics.
I gave this film a 9 out of 10 stars, only because nothing is perfect. My favorite Kendrick Brothers film is "Fireproof", and I don't think that will ever change. "Overcomer" is a close second. This film was well made, I thought the acting was on par, I love the "Jay Austin" license plate on the front of the truck, and I love that the Brothers are not only acting in their films, but they are also using their family members as actors. The Kendrick Brothers films never disappoint me!
