The Office (2005)
The Office: A Timeless Comedy Classic That Will Leave You Laughing and Crying!
"The Office" is a television show that has truly stood the test of time, and for good reason. From the brilliant writing to the hilarious characters, every aspect of this show is top-notch.
First and foremost, the show's writing is exceptional. The creators of the show have managed to craft a perfect balance of humor, drama, and heart, making every episode an emotional rollercoaster. The jokes are consistently hilarious, and the show's ability to take seemingly mundane office tasks and turn them into comedic gold is a true testament to the writers' talents.
But it's not just the writing that makes "The Office" so great - it's also the incredible cast of characters. From the bumbling but lovable boss Michael Scott, played brilliantly by Steve Carell, to the quirky and endearing receptionist Pam Beesly, played by Jenna Fischer, every character on this show is memorable and beloved by fans. And of course, we can't forget about the dynamic duo of Jim and Dwight, whose constant pranking and one-upmanship provided some of the show's funniest moments.
Another standout feature of "The Office" is its ability to tackle serious topics while still maintaining its lighthearted tone. The show doesn't shy away from addressing issues like mental health, diversity, and workplace dynamics, but it always does so with a level of sensitivity and nuance that is rare in comedies.
Overall, "The Office" is a show that has truly earned its place in television history. With its incredible writing, unforgettable characters, and ability to balance humor and heart, it's a show that is sure to continue to entertain and delight audiences for years to come. If you haven't seen it yet, do yourself a favor and start watching - you won't regret it!
Cunk on Earth (2022)
Unbelievably stupid
This is a TV series about a stupid girl walking around places and talking alone or with British professors(?) about things she's too dumb to get.
The central character is portrayed as an ignorant, and clueless interviewer who conducts interviews with various experts(?) in a nonsensical and condescending manner. While this may be intended to be humorous, it comes across as mean-spirited and unprofessional.
There is a profound lack of depth and intelligence in the writing and acting. The series relies on cheap laughs and silly gags rather than insightful commentary, and it fails to provide any meaningful insights into the topics it purports to explore (if that was its purpose in the first place).
"Cunk on Earth" is a disappointing and unsatisfying series that aspires to be a satirical take on the genre of educational documentaries and miserably fails.
While it may appeal to a specific segment of the audience looking for lowbrow humor, it surely doesn't satisfy viewers who are looking for a more intellectually engaging viewing experience.
All in all, it's like the Dumb & Dumber movie, but without the laughs.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds: The Elysian Kingdom (2022)
Let's hope they will bounce back
That was one of the stupidest Star Trek episodes ever. The episode writer needs to quit his job and start fresh as a pizza boy or something. They got to hire a new writer and get back on track ASAP.
You Won't Be Alone (2022)
Yet another trollist Skopje propaganda movie
These Skopje/Slav guys are truly relentless.
They agreed to rename their country "North Macedonia" even though they have nothing to do with Macedonia and drop any other illegal Macedonian claims.
Now they come back with another shameful movie with the Macedonian tag on it also claiming they speak "Macedonian" where they clearly speak a Slavic dialect. There isn't any Macedonian language to be spoken, anyway.
What I don't get about these guys is why they hate their origins that much; they are Slavs speaking Slavick carrying a Slav heritage. What's so wrong with it? Why do they try so hard to negate their roots and claim to be something they are not? Is it so bad being a Slav?
On the movie part, there isn't really something to write home about. These guys paid a recognizable actress to uplift the cr@p they put together to no avail. The movie sucks big time. It's slow, pointless, and super boring. Clearly the high ratings come from Skopje trolls for reasons easy to get.
Unless you're in for propaganda films save your time and money and watch something else.
Stalker (1979)
That's a joke, right?
Only watch it if you are in deep insomnia trouble.
I cannot even call it a movie because nothing moves in there. It's still.
Ok I get it the Commies were poor and they didn't have any money to invest in but calling art a guy walking 10 meters in 10 minutes qualifies any snail as a great actor.
My grandma is faster.
Those rating it 9+ are in trance.
Star Trek: Discovery (2017)
Boldly made
I've watched it all the way to season 4 episode 10.
Having also watched most of the Star Trek older TV series since the first 60s and though I'm not a Trekkie I must admit it's the best Star Trek series I've watched so far.
The producers have thrown a serious amount of money at it and it shows big time. Comparing it with the Star Trek Enterprise which is the closest chronologically series to it it's a huge win for Discovery hands down. It's not just the SFX that is stunning for a TV series, it's also the story that sticks to Star Trek's fundamentals while keeping the viewer engaged.
Sure as some others have pointed out there's been some unnecessary crying mostly in the first 2 periods (many women and some of the other guys(?) aboard, what can I say?) but the story and the action scenes make up for that.
On the other hand, Star Trek was never just about pew-pew-kill-the-bad-aliens macho stuff (well maybe it was when Kirk was aboard, but those were troubled times). Some of the best science fiction (and not only fiction) ideas had popped out of it and ST Discovery manages to push that even further.
Yes, when the going gets tough there are some dumb references to 20th-century science to figure out a solution to a 23rd (or 32nd) century scientific problem, but we don't seriously expect a 21st century TV series to come up with valid answers to a 23rd-century problem which has not even hit us yet. We just watch it and go with the flow.
All in all a series that does Star Trek justice and a solid 8 from me.
The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window (2022)
The last episode ruined it all
I know 2 stars come hard but given what I watched in the last episode frankly I can't do any better.
Up to episode 7, it would be an easy 7*.
But the last episode came up with the stupidest whodunit anyone could think of.
What was the writer thinking?
The Matrix Resurrections (2021)
The Matrix Reburied
The original Matrix is one of those many movies that should have been left alone without even thinking of pulling off any kind of sequel.
The next two parts that came along only gave testament to that by solely managing to make a total mess out of it.
The Matrix Resurrections which came 17 years after the third part totally flashed the franchise down the toilet.
Clearly, Wachowski was short on cash after the operation and released this rip-off to even out.
I watched it on my friend's cable and I am so happy I didn't spend any money on this sheer piece of junk.
Reeves would be much better off staying with the John Wick series.
Spiral: From the Book of Saw (2021)
Leading actor was a really poor choice
Saw franchise has been exhausted long ago.
On top, Chris Rock is only good at playing silly characters in silly movies.
Samuel Jackson tried to save the day, yet again Rock ruined it all.
He was so bad that any other actor in his place would have been way better.
I don't know what the director was thinking when taking him on board, but he totally succeeded in flushing the movie deep down the toilet.
Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980)
It's the story, stupid
Disney-led, CGI-rich episodes hit the bottom since they missed the point.
They thought that throwing a ton of FX at us together with bringing back the original actors would make for the absent story.
Sadly for all of us, it was never just about that.
Empire Strikes Back leads as the best space movie because it managed to land a rock-solid story that still stays with us in exactly the same way it was delivered 41 years ago.
And it clearly proves that the ESB makers next to the money, which justly was the purpose of making it, they also had the capacity to blow their own passion into it.
Kudos to that.
Deep End (2008)
Beyond stupid
Sommer & Sissovitis clearly must have a cumulative IQ 50 - that would make for a reason strong enough for keeping you from watching this and come to the same WTF state of mind I found myself after 10 minutes into that junk.
Uncut Gems (2019)
Epic trash (spoilers ahead - you can thank me later)
A fraudster pulls off a con and gets what he deserves - a bullet in his face - THE END
Avengers: Endgame (2019)
They just went for our money (and they got it)
For a standalone movie, I give it a 7/10. Sadly, this is not a standalone movie because it just happens to follow up one of the best action movies ever - for that I give it a 3/10 to balance things out, so a total of 5/10.
What I really don't get, even for people that only think of how to pocket more cash, is why they show such disrespect for their customers from whom they expect recurring revenues. I mean Marvel and in general franchise movies totally count on coming back viewers, so the previous movie literally pays the next.
In Endgame's case they spent $400 million expecting to gross $2 (at least) billion, and they felt sorry for the few dollars more they would have spent to hire a decent writer to come up with a decent script - the single thing that pushed Infinity War to break away from the pack. That's a cheap attitude, which will eventually backfire.
Where to start?
The story is a disconnected, incoherent mess. Think of Infinity War script? Well think of the exact opposite for Endgame. There is absolutely no story connection whatsoever and it clearly shows in the way the actors perform on screen. The confidence everyone had in Infinity War simply is not here; it's like they don't really get what they are up to.
The humor that flows naturally through to discharge the intense moments in Infinity War is tried to be copied here, only in a bad manner. I don't want to spoil things, but having Cap commenting on his butt, I mean, come on people..
Time travel? Seriously? That was the best you could come up with to get over it? What a brilliant, original idea! Only a couple of hundred other movies and TV series have already thought of that, only to come up with a messy mindjob, regardless. Putting RDJ mumbling mumbo-jumbo quantum stuff to explain how time travel works (btw quantum mechanics has absolutely nothing to do with time in general), just left everybody in awe of what the heck he is talking about. Having watched the trailers, and the theories that crawled through the Internet, I was ready to go there and watch that, but somehow I was hoping otherwise - that was an absolute letdown, especially the way it was delivered.
Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans managed to save some of it in their own way - nothing spectacular though. Others like Chris Hemsworth and Mark Ruffalo were totally crashed under the burden of the ridiculous script. As for the rest of the crew, well, ok, let's get paid and get outta here..
Thanos, the more complex character of all, and the one that made Infinity War a success, appeared here just like all the other villains before him - think of Loki and Ultron and you get the idea of what Thanos has been reduced here to.
All in all, Infinity War was truly hard to match and for that it made Endgame truly hard to watch. Infinity War, for its own reasons, set the bar really high. We have seen that coming in other sequels as well. What comes in mind as an example is The Matrix followed by Matrix Reloaded; the kind of standout movie that is plagued by its own successor.
Infinity War followed by Endgame is not an exception. Many of us already knew that before walking into the theater. Sad to say though, Endgame eventually turned out as another example of what you get if you only do it for the money.
Fantastic Four (2015)
The lame remake of a really dull franchise
There was absolutely no reason for this movie. The first two F4 movies were really boring to watch, and this part came to add nothing.
This is what you get when you squeeze the last drop out of a long dead premise.
Don't waste your money & time on that.
Alien Code (2018)
This is bad
I had to recover my IMDB password to review that, which took me some time, but I felt I really had to go through this to save others from paying money to watch this fundamental piece of s**t.
Everything is bad about this movie - and I mean everything. The key actor should quit right now and do something else with his life, script is plain stupid, direction miserably fails, and I could go on and on but I guess you get the point so far.
This is a low budget movie and cries out loud it is. It is like me and a couple of friends having no idea what making a movie is all about to come together and decide to make one.
5/10 rating is clearly from the friends and family of the crew - save your money and go buy a pizza or something.
