Best X-Men Film Yet
21 May 2016
Warning: Spoilers
I just saw Apocalypse and was pretty disappointed. But what it reminded me was this movie. It had constant flashbacks to this one as if even Singer knew this one was better.

The best part of this movie is that its light-hearted and fun. It has its emotional scenes with actual gravity balanced with the fun parts. Singer should be taking notes by now. The characters aren't constantly sad and brooding even though most of them have dark pasts.

It flows so well too. There isn't a missed second in this film, everything that happens makes you feel something other than boredom or frustration. It has a much lower budget than the next two big X-Men movies but it doesn't look cheap at all. It really is First Class. Action is well made and imaginative.

They also balanced all the characters so well that you connect with everyone. But the main characters played by McAvoy And Fassbender have so much chemistry and talent that they steal every scene they are in.

So overall, this film is everything a superhero movie should be. Great plot, great characters, great acting, great writing.

It is an OK movie, nothing more
20 May 2016
Warning: Spoilers
I usually don't write reviews but when I saw all these people giving the film so much praise, I had to write something. Since everyone else is giving it such praise ı will focus on the negatives.

So, the film has pacing issues. It is too slow at times and the first half of the film looks like a montage. The scenes are randomly placed and the plot is all over the place. Even when we are informed about the plot, there is too much stuff going on. Magneto shouldn't have been in this film. It is the same thing that happened in DOFP: He has full control, he is about to kill people, they convince him otherwise, he stops being bad, they part ways.

Another complaint that I have is Mystique. She is just a side character in the comics, she pops up occasionally, is deceiving and smart, and goes away. But in the movies they felt that she had to be in every scene. They made her a hero which was bullshit. And the speech she gave in the last scene- cringy.

They also didn't do some side characters justice. I wanted to like the Cyclops-Jean-Nightcrawler trio but my favorite character from the comics who was Cyclops did NOTHING. Jean played a huge part in the final battle and Nightcrawler saved the professor while Cyclops shot his eye beams a total of four times in the film. Psylocke quickly became Apocalypse's bitch and she was given no attention unlike the comics. They put her in the trailer and that footage of her is 50 percent of her total screen time. Storm was another half assed subplot: she is a horsemen immediately, she betrays Apocalypse because of her "hero" and they just take her in at the school. Also they either needed to give Moira more use or they should have focused more on the romance. While I liked the romance between her and Charles, might as well focus more on that because the plot is kinda weak.

Apocalypse was...meh. Very fitting in this film. He was mysterious early on in the film and he got more and more cryptic until the final act. And his final plan is so damn stupid. The mind battle was good but don't tell me Charles can get his ass kicked and Jean just totally evaporates him. I don't like that they made Phoenix a part of Jean from the start.

Bryan Singer should say goodbye to the franchise and leave his place to Matthew Vaughn again. That guy knows how to make a FUN movie which is what this franchise should be about. If only we could have more of First Class.

Arrested Development: Top Banana (2003)
Season 1, Episode 2
10/10
An Early Classic
12 April 2016
Warning: Spoilers
This show is a show that knows how to pull you in from the start. Normally, sitcoms are pretty mediocre at first but Arrested Development starts with a bang on its first real episode.

We start with Micheal and George Sr. in prison in a hilarious scene- also the ending is a hilarious scene in prison. This episode has so much going on: Tobias and Lindsay trying to find jobs, Michael trying to get the information, George Micheal and Meaby's weird incest subplot that really made me scratch my head my first time watching the show and of course, GOB's failures as a normal person. His act of retaliation is one of my favorite scenes from the show. Lucille and Geaorge are also pretty good in this episode but they usually support other story lines. The flamer was also hilarious.

The only problem is the lack of Buster but he gets the whole episode next time so its not a big deal. This episode is my second favorite episode of AD and its the second episode of the show. Coincidence?

Arrested Development: Meat the Veals (2005)
Season 2, Episode 16
10/10
Funniest and the Best Episode!
17 March 2016
Warning: Spoilers
Michael's disliking of Ann finally reaches its climax. But thats not the only character development here. We also see Oscar fighting for Lucille(sort of) while George flees, Tobias and Lindsay finally going back to living in the same house and George Micheal's "love" for Egg.

The biggest laugh in the episode comes from Gob's racist puppet and GOB being the only person to find it funny. The Veals are also well made cameos and George's wow is one of the highlights of the episode. I would say Maeby was under-utilized but she usually is. Ann's comment about "doing it" with George Micheal looking desperate is just classic AD with a throwback to one of the first episodes.

So whats not to love about this episode?

Best Sitcom Ever!
14 February 2016
My favorite type of show is comedy. So naturally i watched quite a few sitcoms. But for some stupid reason i avoided Arrested Development until last year. When i finally ran out of shows I wanted to watch(and re watch)I started this show.

I loved it from the start to the end.Even the fanbase-dividing season 4. Hell, I enjoyed it more than the first half of Season 3 and the second half of Season 1.

Every episode is just so well designed and thought-out that you will laugh and cry because you wouldn't think of a show like this if you had a thousand years to think. So like my title says best sitcom ever. (until something even better comes out but i doubt it)
