Volcano (1997)

High quality 90's action

I liked this movie. It had tommy lee jones in his heyday. Anne heche was incredible. It might not be realistic but that's ok. It's an action movie people!!! I don't want to ruin the movie for anybody who hasn't seen it but the ending action scene, it had me on the edge of my seat. Awesome scene. Watch it. Over and over.

Halloween (I) (2018)

Good. Could've been better, but franchise has seen worse

You can't compare this movie to the original. The original, even 40 years later, hits all the marks. It this wasn't bad, and there's been some bad sequels as we know. Jamie Lee was her usual great self. The other actors were good too. It's hard for a franchise that's had 11 sequels to reinvent the wheel so to speak but thankfully they got rid of the 'Micheals sister' storyline. That was stupid. The little kid was awesome. My only regret is we actually didn't see micheals' body melt into powdered dust.....so you know yet another's coming. But I'll watch. If I can survive Halloween 5 I can survive anything

The Predator (2018)

I'm being generous

First let's start with the facts: I felt obligated to see this movie as I have 3 predator statues in my house. If I didn't see it the movie gods would take my predator man card away. That said, I should've taken that chance. Parts were ok. I've certainly seen worse. But, and I had lowered my expectations going in, I knew that this movie would never be 1/4 as good as the original. But I didn't expect Predator 2 to be vastly better as well. The problem with this movie falls at the feet of Shane Black. It has way to much comedy, all of which is of the profane variety; A stupid plot; and a horrible last 1/4, not that anything before that was much better. The positive? Nunn and the lead were good. I don't blame either for their crappy often vulgar dialogue. They delivered it the best they could. But somebody needs to tell Mr Shane black that 'F-bomb' riddled jokes don't help a movie struggling with a story

The Meg (2018)

Good movie

People always expect too much. Was it mission impossible: fallout. No. But it had some good action scenes; good characters (the little girl was a scene stealer lol); and is generally a worth while movie. So where does it fit in within the shark movies? Obviously 'Jaws' is the king. Second I would put 'The Shallows'. Now it gets interesting. I can't think of the name of that shark movie with Samuel L Jackson but I enjoyed it. You also had 'Jaws 2' but I think I'd put 'The Meg' in third place. Don't listen to the haters with too high expectations. Enjoy it for what it is: a fun summer movie

The dark side of the force is strong in this crap-fest

This movie is HORRIBLE. If you've been lucky enough not to have seen it consider yourself saved. Don't watch it now. You've made it this far. But if you just can't help yourself then let me throw some of these nuggets your way : 1) jar jar bunks is the worst character ever created. He'll annoy you to the point you want to switch to the dark side and finish him off. 2) way too much CGI and too little story. 3) little 7-8 yr old Anakin, future Darth Vader, is terrible. If a list of worst child actors was released this kid would be at the top of the list. Maybe it's not all his fault as Lucas puts these actors in impossible situations because of poor dialogue. Lucas has clearly lost touch with the ability to create seamless dialogue. I could go on and on about this massive disappointment. Now Disney's flying the ship (though the results are mixed at best). R.I.P. Star Wars franchise your time has past

Why so much negativity????

People, people, why so negative? This isn't a serious show. The premise alone, the idea that an actress gives up Hollywood for private investigation work is preposterous haha. That said the show works. Sure it's follows a similar script as any other cop show, but the two leads, and I'm sorry I can't remember her name or his, but they both excell. They're funny. They have chemistry. It's not 24; walking dead; or ER. But that's ok. I say give it a chance people.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018)

enjoyable....but not perfect.

I enjoyed the movie. It isn't Jurassic park but it is the 5th movie in the trilogy and having said that it does manage to throw some twists in the story throughout. I'm not going to ruin it for anybody but for me the movie pulled on some heart strings which I wasn't expecting going in. One negative...and it's consistent with most action movies is an overbearrance of CGI special effects. Rewatched original Jurassic park and what makes that movie great 25 years later are the characters. The action scenes in that movie weren't overbearing. In the latest Jurassic the CGI was running a mock. Especially the last 1/4. But Pratt, Howard, and the little girl who was excellent in the movie, lead a very strong cast. It was good fun. Just not hamlet

After the last Jedi I had sworn off this franchise. Done. Finished. No more Star Wars. InmeN how could they possibly have anybody but Harrison Ford plAy Solo. But actually it all came together nicely. The cast was great. Not a weakness in the bunch. Forgive me for getting actual names wrong but the guy that played Solo was very good. Landon's character, well if one closed his eyes you'd swear it was Billy D Williams. I spare you all by fumbling other actors names and just say that the cast was very good. The character development, often a weakness in a Star Wars movie, was there in spades. Oh hell, it's time to eat so I'll cut this short but if you suffered from last Jedi give franchise another chance. You won't be disappointed

Omen IV: The Awakening (1991 TV Movie)

Horrible....awful.....sinisterly bad

Seen this movie on the guide menu on HBO so going in I thought it was an actual movie. Wow I thought, I missed an omen sequel. How did this happen? After watching this movie for 40 minuets I changed to, "wow...they released this in the theater?!" Then I went to imdb and seen it was a TV movie. That explains the really poor production value. Watching it I thought to myself that this resembled a poor TV movie. But that wasn't the only problem. The acting was bad. The young girl wasn't the greatest. She tried her best and I hate to be mean but I actually thought the younger girl did a better job. But in the end since it's a TV movie lower expectations must be allowed. Two stars. The mother, though not a very good actor, was cute. One has to look for something in this dribble.
