Twin Peaks: Northwest Passage (1989)
SPLENDID!!!
When of the best pilot ever to one of the best TV show ever, enough said!
Sono otoko, kyôbô ni tsuki (1989)
A developing Kitano.
Although known for his humour throughout Japan, Kitano's films are often cynical, but his own directorial flavor is what makes these films more than just "edgy". Beat Takeshi's unique method of filming, editing and acting creates a style and feel distinct to only Kitano films. Violent Cop is his first attempt at being a filmmaker, and it's one of his most cynical story, although, compared to his later films like Sonatine or Fireworks (with Sonatine being my favorite of his), this one feels cynical for cynical's sake, especially with its ending, and therefore lacks the rewatchability of said titles.
Unlike most directors who have to go through quite a few films before figuring out their own thing, Kitano's unique style is already visibly present throughout his directorial debut, so for Kitano fans, this will still scratch that itch for the melancholic cynicism that only he can deliver, but with a script that lingers on a bit longer that it needed in certain places, the film is far inferior to his later works. Worth a watch, but not if you're not already a Kitano fan.
The Office: Finale (2013)
Overwhelming Emotions !!!
The Office, especially Michael Scott, helped me through some very difficult times. And now watching the final episode, seeing the end of it all, it's very sad, but it's worth every second. They didn't get everyone to show up in this episode, but i understand, because they got the most important one, Michael Scott, the one that brings this show together, the one that brings The Office together. Even though it was brief it made me cry, and the ending with everyone was very emotional, i feel like they've all been my friends, sharing my life with me, the good times, and the bad. So goodbye The Office, but not farewell, because i will be watching it again, and again and again, hopefully with my future Pam. Thanks everyone who has been a part of this show, you guys really created something very meaningful.
The Office: The Injury (2006)
Who cares what the other guy says
This show is awesome. This episode showed how well written the characters Michael Scott and Dwight Schrute are. They both face 2 situations that reveal another side of them that no one expected, and it's just great writing. There are also a lot of inside jokes for this one so might be a bit hard to understand but generally you will have a good time.
The Accountant (2016)
Gavin O'Connor is a great director !!!
So Gavin O'Connor made Warrior. A good film, with a decent but plague with clichés script. And somehow he made that film not feel cliché at all. Same for this movie, not that it's cliché as well, the script is a lot better than Warrior, with some memorable dialogues and lines, there's just some plot twist moments that are rather predictable. But still what makes the film is Gavin's directing, everything is so well done, a lot of scenes in this film, even though not an action scene, still feel exhilarating and intense, and the action scenes themselves of course, are very well shot. Many shots of the film are very well framed, especially the shots that shows the normal daily life of Christian's, plus with the color and lighting done by Seamus McGarvey, even though they're just scenes of rooms and offices, look beautiful. The acting is also very good. Ben Affleck like with his role with Batman, just look and act the part, he doesn't have to go over the top but still able to show us a very believable performance of a troubled person with autism. J.K. Simmons even though not having a lot to work on, still pull off a memorable performance. Jon Bernthal on the other hand, i thought he could have done something different with this role and i had hope, but he acts too much like that police character he plays in Walking Dead, so that was very disappointing for me. Anna Kendrick however, someone i was afraid gonna ruin the movie cause she's just in EVERY movie lately, actually did a very good job. So go see the movie now to support the people who made it, they clearly have put a lot of effort and creativity into this film to make something different in a market full of films made purely for money. And that deserves some respect.
Captain America: Civil War (2016)
This is just good film-making
A lot of people hate superhero movies for it's commercial nature, and they're just made to squeeze money of our pockets. I was one of those people, but this movie gave me a new perspective on the subject matter. It's true that a lot of these movies are just hyped up to make a lot of money for the studios and they don't do anything worthwhile cinema-wise. But with this movie, it's not. Sure it made a gigantic amount of money, but it was a well made film. Of course, unless you haven't seen a lot of good movies, the plot of this film is pretty meh, but the action is incredibly well made. You can feel that the directors put very much thought into every shots, there are some very clever editing moments, the actors and stunt men practiced hard for the choreography, a lot of scenes are done for real then combine with CGI so they look very real, especially the fights with captain America, Buck, and black panther. This is an all out action film, and it delivers, and much more if you're an action fan like me. It's so rare these days for filmmakers to make a good action film. And yeah they do try to set up later movies for spider man and black panther, but at least they put some thought into it, and they don't try to do too much, unlike Batman V Superman, god that movie was "booooooring" ( said in Scott Pilgrim's voice ). So if you want to have a good time, pleasure your eyes with actual good action, action that is well thought out, and well practiced and well shot, not just scenes of some stuff blowing up, give this a watch, throw the whole superhero movie thing out the window, this down to it's core is just an action movie, and it will deliver.
