IMThem (2021)
A New Effort in a New Direction
IMTHEM is a film that requires an audience that understands that indie is NOT and never will BE the Hollywood Machine. If you're familiar with the early works of directors such as Cassavettes you understand that one film is only an indicator of where a director is going.
DeGennaro is well on his path to greatness. Does the the film have challenges? Yep and that is not in question.
The heart the film, the humor of the film and the performances give a nod to directors who have taken challenges and finished the job.
Perhaps not to everyone's likings but I recently saw WonderWoman and with hundreds of millions of dollars all of the creativity that Hollywood could muster, the film still got panned.
So, when a new voice rises, I tend to give them the benefit of the doubt. Nice effort and I'm sure it will find it's audience.
Rag Doll (2019)
RAG DOLL - Not Another Rip Off
Love the harsh, disquieting style of this film. Not only is it a festival favorite, but it deals with a lot of very powerful subjects all in a nice, tidy but rough around the edges piece.
While it is a 'Fight Film,' there is a lot more going on than one would think. I don't want to reveal any of the great plot points but I will say this, 'Watch this movie!' Nora, played by Shannon Murray is a master study in dealing with the harsh realities of life. How she does it is told in a brilliant and loving fashion by Director Bailey Kobe.

F.R.E.D.I. (2018)
A Brilliant and Charming Family Film
Reminiscent of ET but nothing like it, FREDI is a wonderful journey into imagination, story, pure characters and a lot of love. People seem to have a problem with a film that doesn't feature blood, gore and violence but the team behind this one really knew what they were doing.
The story is strong and the cinematography is amazing. You also get a huge selection of veteran and new talent to enjoy.
I highly recommend this film.
