Not for everyone

This movie won't be for everyone but it scared the hell out of me, and I don't get scared that easily.

The whole storyline will be for you to make of it as you will. I have my own definition of the movie and I'll leave it at that.

I actually prefer movies where i can make my own story and meaning from it. So much better than storytellers and directors treating us like idiots and having to point out the obvious to us. We are not stupid. Plus people are so used to not using their imaginations anymore. It's really quite sad.

Give this movie a go if you like to be scared, even if you don't like the ending.

Million Dollar Island (2022– )

Was ok. Until the end

So this show is a B rated Survivor show. It's ok. Ant Middleton is fine.

The editors don't show a lot of the contestants so you don't get involved too much with their personalities which I found annoying as you don't get to care about them so much. I found even at the end I didn't care about any of them winning or loosing. Apart from the ones who spoke oddly, you'll know I am talking about when you watch the show.

A lot of it is based on luck. Which sure ok. But they play for this MILLION dollars right up into the end. And then that's based Entirely on luck. I found that annoying. It should be called PART of a million dollar island.

So many unanswered questions

But did any of you not see that guy laying on the ground in the pub with 3 men stomping their feet onto his head?? Plus 3 out of the 4 one four members have served time in gaol for gang related violence.

Sydney was getting out of control. That's the only reason the police created new laws to be able to better deal with the violence. They didn't have any power to deal with it that's why the laws were created.

And sure EX gang members deserve a second chance. These guys should get a second change IF they have really left all their criminal activities behind them.

I want to know what grounds the police had their final search warrant for, you don't get a search warrants just for s&8ts and giggles. And also was the final act stopped or was the searching by the police done after One Four performed. The ending was very rushed and seemed to be brushed over. Hmmm.

Profile (I) (2018)

Perfect example of why journalists shouldn't act as cops

Pretty good movie. Kept me entertained, although a little bored at times due to watching typing and clicking on a computer screen, but it still kept my interest.

I didn't like the main female character from the start. She seemed to be weak willed, but at the end of the movie I see why they portrayed her as such. I suspect that part was the fictional part of the story.

The whole story is a perfect example of why civilians shouldn't due police work. I'm glad she didn't get killed, but she's going to have to live hiding behind bushes and treading on eggshells the rest of her life. If she was a trained police officer and did this correctly her identity wouldn't have been compromised. As soon as I saw her sitting at her window I thought your a freaking idiot.

The Act (2019)

Don't bother the last few episodes

It was good. Until the last few episodes when I found myself picking up my phone due to boredom and repetitive stories.

Then the SWAT turn up. For someone suspected of stabbing?!?!? Come on. Now this was laughable. I know they make a disclaimer of fiction added to enhance the story but SWAT? That's far too much.

I really would've thought the "drama" would have built up more on the real story, as I'm telling how mentally controlled that daughter would've really been. I found myself not liking her and wondering why she didn't just walk out her front door. But knowing about DV abuse I know why. It just wasn't reflected here. Obviously the writers didn't research the impacts of DV abuse properly.

Cleveland Abduction (2015 TV Movie)

The story sickens me, but it needs to be told

I thought the story telling was great. For the people asking why the horrendous acts weren't portrayed- it's not a snuff film. For those asking why we couldn't see more from the other victims perspective nor why the neighbours didn't speak out- it's a film that has a time restriction to it. For those wanting more answers to the complex relationship of a capture who violently, cruelly and mental manipulates his victims (I'm one of these)- again it's a film with time restrictions that issue in itself would result in a film of at least 6 months long I'm sure.

This film sickened me and I almost stopped watching because of the content. But I rate the film highly because the story was portrayed well and showed a horrific story as well as any Hollywood film could, plus the actors were great.

Windfall (2022)

NOT a Thriller

First 10 minutes I was intrigued as to what was happening. But then it became mind numbingly boring. I kept watching only because I read a review saying the twist at the end was highly topical and much discussed as to it's meaning. It wasn't. I don't tell people to not watch movies but if you find it boring it does NOT get better.

God only knows why it was rated a thriller. Acting was fine though the characters were boring and I couldn't give 2 rats about any of them.

Hard Cell (2022)

Americans will hate this show

Zombieland is a great American comedy but the endings when everyone falls in love and kiss each other is why I hate American humour. Plus o watched it recently so it comes to mind, no connection with Hard Cell.

If you like English humour stick with this until the very classical British ending.

Killing Ground (2016)

Poorly written, or so I thought.

Ok. I got cranky through this movie because I thought the story was lame and sloppy. Which it wasn't. Stupidity was explained later.

Until the very end. I mean really?. Unless there is a pillow sequence?

It's a good movie. Great suspense. Great acting. Great graphics. Well done.

My Heart Can't Beat Unless You Tell It To (2020)

Not a horror

This movie would've received better public reviews if they listed it as a dark family drama and not horror. Misleading rating has made this film recurve much lower rating than it should. It's slow, but intriguing and thought provoking. Oh and it's sad and dark. I enjoyed it but need to watch a comedy after because it's filled with sadness and left me feeling the same.

The Greasy Strangler (2016)

Brilliantly greasy

Think Napoleon Dynamite, think Freddy Got Fingered, think Slasher film, think porno, then inject with 100kg of steroids and you get this weird, freaky but hilarious movie. I was laughing out loud in the first ten minutes.

They could shaved off the last 5 minutes. That was pointless.

First scene a cop, I assume, she was wearing a hat and dress?, stands over a dead body with tweezers, bends down and picks out some body part/blood/dna/evidence from the dead persons bloody wound with NOOOO gloves on. Ridiculous. I stopped right there. When did writers become so lazy?

Don't Look Up (2021)

Boring and dull

Watched this because people recommended it, plus the cast. But I found myself FORCING me to watch it only for those reasons. Movie is not funny nor really that smart.

The book was great. Couldn't put it down, even with all the unrealistic bits.

But the movie? Who produced and directed this crap? Boring. Unrealistic. Dumb.

Gave it 3 stars for the acting Which deserved more but the story and production was blah and horrible.

Supernova (II) (2020)

Simple. Beautiful. Sad.

At the start I thought the characters weren't engaging enough but by the end I couldn't stop watching, even through the credits. This movie is simple in its story and minimalist in its dialogue, yet so touching and beautiful. Get the tissues ready.

Maid (2021)

I really want to give this show 2/10 but can't because of the seriousness of the issue

Great series. But conflicted. It was great to see DV portrayed as something not such as breaking bones or rape. I liked how it showed the DV shelter as not pathetic and filled with all people full of face bruises. I liked that it showed DV as emotional abuse.

To be honest I only made 3 eps in. I couldn't get past the police leaving a mum holding a child on a highway with only 1m space on the edge of a concrete fence? That does not happen.

Then a child is in a car when it's hits at high speed by another car and the child doesn't even cry? Then the mum gets someone to leave her on at the scene of a car crash and friends says nothing to her and just drives off? And a shelter let's a mum into someone's home while they aren't there???? That was my final straw

I get the premise of this show. I like where the story is coming from. I really do. But I wish the writers had done I tiny research.

Only I giving this a high score because people need to see this.

Saw IV (2007)

2/10. That's all I could last. The horrible acting, the ridiculous writing was it written by year 12 students ? Actually I think they'd write a script 100x better . Shame because I am a huge saw fan.

Marianne (2019)

Not what I expected

I accidentally watched ep 3 first and didn't understand anything. But then realised I hadn't watched ep 1 and 2. So did. But ep 2 ep 3 made so much sense.

I'm mesmerised by this story. Plus it's disturbingly good. The acting is really Good and the cinematography is really great at times (refreshing to see).

I just hope this show keeps the momentum up.

Shame that the subtitles at times are WAY too fast to read.

Didn't even make it 30min into this movie. It's like it was written by high school students. Couldn't give it more of my time. I suspected I would've wasted my time if I watched the entire thing. Reading the other reviews confirmed it.

I managed 30 minutes, but mostly because of the kinky undertones, and I thought the husband was going to kill himself and make her the suspect. That would've been a good storyline.

That main female actor might be the worst actress ever, or maybe it's the worst direction ever, maybe a bit of both.

Give it 2 stars for the makeup and beautiful people and kinky undertones.

Don't waste your time unless you are one of those who like to watch models try to act. If so then this is the movie for you.

Midnight Mass (2021– )

What is it with writers these days doing absolutely NO research. I don't expect them to be a scholar, but come on... saying that Islam and the Koran are two separate religions. It's like saying Catholics and the Bible are different religions.

Only could watch first episodes. It was so slow and boring that I couldn't waste another hour of my life.

The Guilty (2021)

Love Jake

I love Jake and that's the only reason I started watching and the only reason I gave it 4 stars. But as an ex cop I couldn't last longer than 20 minutes. It's SO ludicrous that someone would get put on hold while speaking to a 911 operator. Or maybe that's how the yanks do it. But here in Australia no one calling 000 would be put on hold while the operator called the cops direct.

Imagine being raped (or kidnapped in this case) and having the operator put you on hold. My eyes hurt from rolling back in my head so much.

Writers need to do at least a little amount of research. Unless they classify this movie as fantasy?

Becky (II) (2020)

Boring and extremely poorly written.

15 minutes in and I'm cringing. It feels like it's extremely bad acting but I've seen the two main make actors previously and I don't think they are bad actors so can only assume it's crap dialogue and direction. The main actress looks like she's 24 and I thought how can she pass for a 13yr old until I googled her age.... 16! Eek.

I lasted 30 minutes expecting it to pick up momentum once the action started. But it kept the same boring momentum even then. I had to stop it at 55min. I just couldn't take any more of this Boring movie with no story.

Just because you put in some white supremist tats doesn't make it scary nor tough. White supremists are fools. This movie fails in so so many ways.
