Jupiter Ascending (2015)
Thrill Ride
Edge of your seat thrill, edgy characters, unique script. Entertainment of the highest degree. Kunis is charming, Tatum is all he-man, the bad guys are well played. First time I saw it, I was literally jumping in the furniture.
Outlander: The Battle Joined (2017)
Intense writing and acting
The intensity of the raw emotions being portrayed here, made it, at times, hard to watch. But when it came to the dean of Frank's school? I wanted to bash his head in for the demeaning way he spoke to both of them, but, me being a woman, especially Claire. I dont know that i would call his performance acting, seened more like just a nasty disposition toward all women. Misogynist.
Stargate: Atlantis: Condemned (2005)
Great Performance by Original cast.
A. C. Petersen turned in his usual slimy disgusting play. Is it Great acting? Or is he just slimy and disgusting. It got so bad, every time he showed up on acreen, i had to fast foward to the next act.
Stargate: Atlantis: Vegas (2008)
Best and worst
I love this episode. For the character variations, I'd give it a 9. For showing Sheppard's emotional dilemma, I'd give it a 12.
Giving Hewlett the opportunity to show his acting chops, and the character's new dimension of maturity was great!
For Killing off Shappard (maybe) I'd like to give this episode a 1. Not a 10, but a 1(one). I pondered Mackay's analysis that one incident can change a person's whole life: I would have liked to have seen Sheppard take that realization and embrace it. As it stands, I'm STILL wandering. . . Did they get to him in time??
If there is yet another Stargate, I hope that Joe Flanigan is included in the cast. IMOHO.
Stargate: Atlantis: Brain Storm (2008)
Funny and entertaining
The number of times MacKay makes fun of himself, plus Bill Nye "Teaching" a room full of actual scientists, makes this episode one of the funniest written. It was good to almost see Stephen Hawking in there as well.
I love it and have watched it over and over again.
Jurassic World (2015)
When I see a Sreven Spielberg movie . . .
I expect better. . . Script . . acting . . . Directing. . . Fewer cliche's . . . Better story line. . . Can we please get Steven's attention back on his Named ptoject?
Godsend (2021)
Learn to write.
I'm sorry, but at 5 minutes into this idiocy I left. Writers are supposed to reflect truth? The writing is bad, the story is a joke, the acting is bad, the directing appears about useless.
And this has nothing to do with the content, but rather the unbelievable combination of writing and acting.

New ideas and concept
I LOVE this show. It kept me on the edge of my seat.
My ONLY complaint is that each episode is so darn short.
Pure Genius (2016)
One of the most refreshing new shows of the season
When StarTrek was launched back in 1966, most citizens of the world had no clue that phones would one day be small enough - as well as being wireless - to fit in the ear. Yet, here we are today.
While those reviewers, with extensive medical training, want to poo poo PURE GENIUS as being unrealistic, I would like to remind them that heart transplants were mere fiction but 50 years ago.
As for the main character, James, it is a well known fact that the more brilliant a person is in one field, they tend to be "childish" in many other facets of social behavior, Albert Einstein comes to mind as an example. For an actor to portray a character with outside the norm social behavior, may present some definite challenges, some which might have included first hand observation of brilliantly challenged individuals. Having first hand observational experience with such individuals, I see mania, unmet expectations, outside the box thinking, challenges of the "norm", longing for a normal life, loneliness, almost crushing despair when those expectations are not met, stubborn determination to reform "traditional" thinking, and finally an almost god-like belief that they can change the circumstances to fit their expectations.
I firmly believe that the writing IS so well crafted, that those who deal with normal everyday, forget that, in order to affect change, normal has to be set aside. The Wright Brothers didn't accept that man COULD not fly.
Set aside the boxed in, run of the mill thinking, and take a trip into the vast, ever expanding realm of turning the improbable into an idea of change, for one hour. Embrace the idea that brilliance often comes with a price, that not all people are limited, blessedly normal. But in their chaos, they see something new and beautiful.
