Ada Twist, Scientist (2021)
underrated
Can't believe this is only a 7/10 as I write this. Easily deserves to be 8 or 9 out of 10, especially compared to the relative garbagio that most kids are digesting on a daily basis (Paw Patrol anyone?)
This is a quality production. Creative plots, well crafted characters, good animation and the voice work is on point. Nice to have some educational element included as well. Candidly I'm not the biggest fan of the computer-based animation style - personally I prefer Peppa Pig and Bluey's look more, but it's certainly superior to the aforementioned Paw Patrol.
Ada has earned a spot in the rotation for my 4.5 year old daughter. It's not every day, but it's often enough to be worthwhile.
Shock and Awe (2017)
Unrealistic talking points
I could only stomach 1/2 of the movie before turning it off. Reiner preached liberal talking points about topics like fake intelligence in today's context and it comes across as extremely contrived and unrealistic. I say this as someone that would love to see all of the neocons held accountable for their actions; this just isn't a good way to dramatize the events. The Post is much more nuanced in its treatment of a similar topic.

Hangover 2018
If you like the Hangover movies and Bridesmaids you'll enjoy this. It's not legendary or particularly clever but it gets the job done. Good performances from all of the actors; no real complaints. Definitely hits the nostalgia notes for those of us that grew up in the 80s, even though the actors are older.
Bright (2017)
surprisingly good
I was expecting a festering crap-pile like Suicide Squad, but instead I was pleasantly surprised to the upside. Great action sequences that didn't feel tacked on/contrived, and fascinating world. Acting was excellent - Will Smith plays Will Smith. Hell, make THIS a series; the premise is much more interesting than most of Netflix's shows.
