Westworld: The Mother of Exiles (2020)
Just keeps getting better and better
I will be honest, I am sucker for Sci-fi series, I have watched many, but most are not worth 7 stars. Sadly this genre produces mediocrity like no other, and likes to play the same tropes over and over.
This series was original, well acted and though provoking from the get go, sure, season 2 felt a bit hit and miss and sometimes rather confused, but season 3 is nothing like that.
I dare, say its even better then the first one, which I did not think possible considering what this could have turned into (played out rogue ai vs human, robot fights, commoner revolts against corporations with too much power, etc)
Somehow, the stakes, the emotions, the action just keep going higher and higher as the tempo pick up momentum and keep you at the edge of your seat.
And its all very well balanced with some quality dialogue scenes and introspections.
I really hope this will build up into an ending that is worthy and does not disappoint.
This season so far has transformed a series that was rather good, a solid 8 into a masterpiece, flawless 10. From the concepts, acting, storytelling and shear bad ass action to carry it all, Westworld is now my favourite sci fi series. Period.

Game of Thrones: The Iron Throne (2019)
Perfect ending
GOT started promising, just two seasons in it was looking like one of the greatest series on television. Sure, plenty other series had great actors before, a working budget and looked spectacular, but their writing, it was nothing close.
This was EPIC, truly epic, the dept of the world and how the actors played on it could rival any great movie such as LOTR. We had lifelike people struggling through various paths towards their goals.
It was captivating, all because of the writing! Thats what the two buffoons directing this did not understand, they actually thought they contributed to its success :)) Really, when they lost the writing, and had to resort to their own ability, the show stared sliding downhill.
The last season was a jarring ride all the way down to the bottom, and this it;

THE IRON THRONE
Watch your passion for GOT drop at an alarming rate.
No grand ending, no meaningful insight, no fulfilling charter arcs, just more random drivel from our two favorite idiots. THE END.
I hope George RR Martin gets to write his books and shows us and them how its done, he was the real magic behind this show, its a shame the need to find fame and money in a hurry left us with this shallow, cut down finish to end season void of meaning.
I bet Benioff and Weiss are right now considering making the star wars movie an extra 60 minutes longer so they can explain post factum how they where able to suck their own **** and direct such a masterpiece at the same time in case you could not plainly see for yourself.
Day 5 (2016)
Keeps you thinking
I only watched the first episode and half of the 2nd, so I am not ready to rate this, but so far, its promising. I did not expect much coming in, and at times the lines and acting seem corny, but the ideas are worthy to keep you interested. So far the characters did pretty much what I would do, except I know about a couple of devices that are meant to keep you from falling asleep, some you connect to your ear lobes and they give you small electric shocks. I did some night driving and falling asleep behind the wheel was my biggest fear, and let me tell you, pulling a nose hair out does more then 2 cans of red bull and half a pack of cigs.
I find it weird that there are basically no insomniacs left, they have a pretty good chance of "breezing" past the first 5 days given that they were well rested when this thing started.
Hmm.. will keep you guys updated.
--- Finished season 2: Pretty munch binged it, plot does not advance as quickly as you would wish (or expect considering the premise that they only have days if not hours left), some things are still not explained, like at all, I can say the junkie guy seems more real and other characters begin to actually bring something, but I feel it did not capitalize on that potential I saw in the beginning. Charters die, time passes, we are left just as clueless as before. Who did this? Why? How?
These questions are left completely unanswered as the director goes on wacky road trip through laughable physios breakdowns (why did we need ponoko?), parody level encounters (braindead sergeant bullet surgery, really?), and goofy couple looking for cup cake valhalla.
Yeah, it gets slow and pretty tiring and if you nod off IRL you might miss random crap they seemingly just threw in for shock value (last episode in season 2 with its choice of 3 paths, one literally covered in chunks of gore after chainsaw massacre incident, that leads to a couple of of characters so unbelievable I thought the group finally started having hallucinations, but no, they were real, and completely pointless to the overall plot and merely used as a C4 and drone dispenser.
Solid 6, maybe a 7 on a good day.
Red Planet (2000)
Makes Battlefield Earth look good
I made an account just to comment on this pile of garbage.
If you thought Battlefield Earth was a well written, well acted and scientifically reasonable movie then you will find this to be absolute trash. If you liked the Martian, you wont even be able to last 30 minutes into this steaming pile of shite, it is the worst SF movie I have ever seen, perhaps even the worst movie period.
Save yourself the time and just google Carrie Anne Moss shower scene, that boobshot was literally the only redeeming quality of this movie.
Now they say I need more lines of text, this movie does not deserve 10 lines, just two words are sufficient, IT SUCKS!
