Euphoria: The Theater and Its Double (2022)
This episode was awesome but...
Not as the second to last episode of the season. There is so much still unanswered and unadressed. The episode had amazing cinematography, make up, costume... it was funny and entertaining and heartbreaking. I especially liked the scenes between Rue und Lexi. But, overall, I get the feeling that they struggle to allign the vision they have for specific scenes with the actual plot and character development. Why did we again see Kat in her camgirl outfit but with zero significance to the plot? Her character this season is a sad disaster and an insult to people who are fat (since all we see her do is hate herself, fantasize about sex and lie about having a terminal illness). This episode is no different. She barely has any screen time ever. Also hardly any Jules scenes in the past few episodes and now. It seems as though Rue and Jules were replaced as main characters by Maddy and Cassie. As much as I like Maddy and Cassie their characters are portrayed as extremen shallow in a way that is just unrealistic. In season one we see Cassie figure skating.. what happened to this? Don't these characters have any hobbies? After 15 episodes you'd expect to see some character growth but so far I just dont see it and it becomes problematic when its almost the end of the season. They did a good job building up the drama between Cassie and Lexi and the whole Fezco/Faye/Faye's boyfriend drama. I am excited to see how next episode will resolve these issues but I am also scared they will leave things unanswered.
This show has so much potential but they need to focus more on the plot than perfect aesthetics.
Things I liked:
- Lexi and Rue
- all the amazing looks
- Ethan nailing his roles
- seeing how differently to Cassie Lexi views her family and her past
- Cassie being shocked about this.
Supernatural: Carry On (2020)
A miserable ending for TFW 2.0
For seasons, they have built up this idea of what a happy ending could look like to our 4 mains:
- Jack wants a family and to do good
- Sam and Dean want freedom and to settle down
- Cas wants to feel loved and to fit in with the humans, he no longer considers heaven his home.
Guess what? Neither of the characters get what they want and God wins although he was already defeated.
Dean dies and never gets a chance to settle down. Sam has to live for the rest of his life without the four people that meant the most to him in the past few seasons. Castiel is God's little soldier again and never gets to settle down as a human. Jack is God now and can't be with his family.
This ending was so ridiculously unfitting that 80% of the fandom pretend it doesn't exist and are even rewriting the whole thing.
Supernatural: Despair (2020)
The only way to do it right.
They did what they did the only way they could. By leaving it up for interpretation. I love and I hate this episode at the same time. Wow.
Supernatural: Destiny's Child (2020)
Perfect Combination
This episode was a perfect combination of lots of different things. There was comedy, big emotions, old characters returning, plot twists and, most importantly, Team Free Will ist reunited again.
It is ridiculous of people to claim that good ratings are randomly given out by horny females. This episode was genuinely great. What sealed the deal for me were the last few minutes of the episode. Castiel is my favorite character and he seems so much happier and content with Jack around.
I hope that this is the start of some action-packed, gut-wrenching final episodes.
The Flash: Marathon (2020)
Great episode
I absolutely loved this episode! I am really glad that they have stepped up the quality of episodes again since season 4. I wish I could understand the toxic negativity in this fandom and on this website. It is amazing that the show offers such an amazing role model as Iris. I am sure that it does make a difference for some young woc out there. However, we still don't know anything about the overarching plot of the rest of the season.
The Flash: License to Elongate (2019)
RalphxBarry episodes are always great
The two definitely make a funny duo on screen. I really like these episodes because despite being relatively predictable they still don't lack in character development. Ralph and Barry are such different people that they bring out the best in each other. This season has been amazing with unique episodes, emotional und entertaining scenes so far. In s4 and s5 the villains were sort of annoying because of how boring they were. But the show has stepped up its game.
Despite the rating/s of others, I hope we will get more episodes like this.
People need to understand that the show isn't just about The Flash but about Team Flash. Without the Team, the show would be boring and Barry wouldn't be able to save all the people that he does end up saving.
The Flash: There Will Be Blood (2019)
Season one feels
This episode was very similar to seasons one and two in how emotional it was. None of the scenes felt like they were dragging on and they all felt relevant to the plot. Each character (excecpt for Cecil maybe) got a bit of screentime. But overall this episode portrayed a very emotional Barry which we didn't have as much of in seasons 4 and 5. I loved it. Totally cried. 10/10 for the early seasons vibe. Don't listen to the haters on here.
Legends of Tomorrow: Hey, World! (2019)
One of a kind
This season finale again proved that Legends remains to be one of a kind among the Arrowverse. This episode had so many funny but also sweet and entertaining scenes (bringing back Vandal Savage, the creatures, "Heyworld", Mona shoving Gary off of her, etc.). During the middle of the episode I was really afraid that this episode wouldn't end very pleasantly but it did not disappoint. Overall, it was a smart choice not to kill Nate. At the beginning of the season so many fans were mad about Nate's plot, but this was just what his character needed. Before s4, Nate wasn't much more than Amaya's boyfriend and Nate's bestfriend but now he's grown so much.
I was really sad about Zari though. But who knows? Maybe they can bring her back next season? Constantine, per usual, is a pleasure to watch, I always get Supernatural vibes when I see him on screen.
One could say that the ending and the way that they defeated Neuron was cheesy but this wasn't very different from the Beebo storyline in last season's finale. So if that's what you're thinking... Why are you even still watching? After all the power of love and friendship is what unites all Arrowverse shows and this finale had a much more positive take on that than the Flash finale.
10/10 from me
The Flash: Cause and XS (2019)
I am beyond shocked by other people's reviews...
Of this actually good episode. I must say, Legends did this whole thing a bit better because their episode was just sooo hilarious (the "Custodians of the Chronology ;)).
In this Episode we got to see Nora step up as a Flash and try to protect her friends without her father's help. It was very emotional, her acting was great. I felt just as desperate as she seemed to be feeling. Now.. What I don't understand. Y'all loved the Flashtime episode but you hate this one. Why exactly? I mean the plot is a bit different but both are basically about a speedster being desperate to save the people they love.
I can't help but feel like some of the Flash fandom is hating on women simply because they are women. Well, go find another show to watch because the CW shows are not about your misogynistic cr*p. First Iris gets all the hate, now it's Nora. (Shoutout to the CW for giving us all these awesome female characters in the Arrowverse. I wish I had had such badass female idols when growing up.)
The actress is doing a great job, the plot (which is about the West-Allens as a family and NOT Cicada, if you haven't noticed by now) and Nora is going through a lot of emotional distress just like Barry did in seasons 1 and 2. I personally love these emotional family scenes and have been loving them since season 1.
Furthermore, I do feel like we get to see so much of Nora because they are trying to set something up for the future (the producers of Arrowverse recently said something about the future) and I really hope we will get to see more of Nora in the future.
Now, to all of those who haven't seen the episode: it's worth watching even if LoT did it just a little bit better.
The Flash: News Flash (2018)
A great episode with good acting...
I thought this episode was going to be like a 7.5/10 - 8.5/10 because of the rating on here. Actually, it's a great episode. The only reason the rating isn't, at least, 9/10 is because there's a lot of focus on Iris (and as we all know, Iris haters are passionate about giving bad ratings). Buuut, Iris was amazing this episode. Whereas the beautiful and heart-wrenching acting usually comes from Grant, it's coming from Candice this time. Next to some funny Sherloque/Ralph scenes, we also get to explore what happens between Iris and Nora in the future and why she is so mad at her mother. The scenes between Nora, Iris and Barry truly touched me and I can't wait to find out if Nora will eventually forgive Iris!
