Jeepers Creepers III (2017)

Worth the wait.

As a fan of Jeepers Creepers, I enjoyed it a lot.

Brought with it the impredictability I was accustomed with these series of movies, the thrill and also the familiarity of the Creeper.

The third installment takes place between Jeepers Creepers 1 and 2 and it delivers. I watched the other two many years ago and I would place this thrid movie at the same caliber. I read some reviews of people being disappointed with the story, well I am not. I just watched it with no expectations and I found it scary which is the real test for a horror.

Can't wait for the 4th movie.

Evil Dead (2013)

Quite a good horror.

Before I decided to go watch I checked IMDb.com.Had to browse through 5 f****** pages to find a positive review. So many down voters, unbelievable. Scary movie, decent acting, unpredictable story. It got me just fine and I hated the original Evil Deal 1980 Bruce Campbell movie. I mean who the heck goes to see a horror comedy? Horror is supposed to be that, scaring one out of ones wits. It convinced me. What was the most interesting aspect was seeing the deviation between the 1/10-4/10 voters and the average grade (6.8, proving the vast majority enjoyed it tremendously). As scary as Insidious 1, and was really gory.

I don't know what some of the reviewers moan so much about...This is the type of movie that follows the motto "Expect the unexpected"...In a way I am upset with myself because a lot of time I have avoided watching a movie with a low rating on IMDb...For me this was pretty exciting...the traps were innovative, some of the scenes were incredible, the performance was pretty good especially by Costas Mandylor, the music was really nice... I sure hope there will be an 8th sequel, because this series are really original, clever scenery, nothing what is what it seems... Normally it should be an 8th sequel, because to many things are left unfinished...

Eden Lake (2008)

Very realist movie, disturbing for the weak hearted.

The theme of the movie is somehow interesting...Couple going on a short vacation and getting bullied by rebel, ruthless teenagers...Good horror, although I found it to be pretty realist...This is what happens nowadays with lack of education... A wise guy said that we were educated wrongly by our parents to behave nice, be honest and such...This new era is much more about learning to defend yourself...Not letting shameless people abuse one and instead act in a way that will put them in place...These teenagers act like this because their parents allowed them to much, instead of teaching them the real values...There are some scenes where this proves to be the real thing, such as after the guy defends himself he is ashamed of doing it and apologizes it.

The Pursuit of Happyness (2006)

Inspiring movie but really profound.

OK so I found out about this movie and decided to watch hoping for a get rich recipe or some unforgettable advice... Wasn't exactly as I thought it would be... The journey of Chris Gardner is so long and filled with drama...This guy was so powerful to pass through this... Will Smith portrays is to convincing.. I found it sad at start then was impressed by him going on, using every bit of thing in his life that he could turn to advantage... If I would have to criticize something, it would be the fact that the movie didn't show enough Chris's life after being accepted into the firm...Some cheerfulness would have been great after all the suffering... For me, this movie was an inspiration because I realized how much I have compared to other people...Yes I know we need to focus on the people that have more than us, but when you see something like this, you realize your life is actually a dream. I just need to see it more but I dunno if I can bear to see, the sadness is so painful for me.

Poirot: Murder on the Orient Express (2010) Season 12, Episode 3

Insane performance on the part of David Suchet.

Man, David Suchet is one incredible actor when he plays the part of Hercule Poirot..He not only highlights the cleverness of the character to the maximum, but one can feel the desire for justice above everything. I think most people have read the book, and know what it is about...revenge...taking justice in our own hands when this is the only option left...What's interesting is unlike any previous ecranization of this novel, this one shows it in a difference perspective...Poirot perceives here that even though it seems attractive, it's wrong...By doing this every bit of civilization goes up the window...This is interesting. The interior fight in Poirot's heart on the final decision is more than clear shown...His hurt after taking his decision...Very profound. Actors also played their roles very through. This movie is a must seen even if you read the book 100 times and know every detail...It will still surprise one.

Rambo (2008)

Amazing war movie!!!

This movie is unique on the point of view of hardcore scenes and cruelty...I never saw the other sequels of Rambo so I can't say if they were like this...But I enjoy this war movie...Also Sylvester Stallone does a wonderful job writing,acting and directing this movie...Man's a bloody genius...About the mass murder scenes,I never saw something like this...I don't think even the SS Armies did something like that to the Jewish population...Killing everyone and with a rare cruelty:O...I wish it had been longer, filled with a few more scenes...the way in which it ended its a bit dull,I think they could have prolonged it a bit..But its a great war movie.

30 Days of Night (2007)

Entertaining movie

This was a very nice horror,even thought it lacked some elements that in my opinion could have made it more interesting...The surroundings were imba,especially cuz it symbolized lack of hope...So this town will be under siege by the night for 30 days...Using this,a gang of vampires decides to feed on the town's inhabitants...Vampires we're monsters in the purest sense of the word...They speak an unknown language,and they have their faces covered with blood...I think the directors chosed it in this way to make the movie more terrifying...But had they chosen to make them more humane,as most movies portray them, I think the movie would have been more interesting in the sense of thrill...Also the fact of having another idea behind killing people,a few at the time,would have been a plus...A negative aspect is the passing of days...Lack of planning is a minus here. Beside this ,it was a nice horror:) 7/10.

Captivity (2007)

This kind of movie,Horror with suspense,is a rare "meal "...It all started with Saw 1,and I'm happy to see,every year, it becomes more frequent as an option for the producers of Hollywood...About "Captivity ", i can say that,the beginning of this movie is very good,but as the plot thickens, everything goes downhill...I think the moment is when we're revealed who the killer is and what is his agenda...A bad mark to this movie comes from the fact,that it has no story from the point on view of showing us how the killer is discovered...There is a moment when the two detectives give one the impression that they know who the killer is, but the spectator ain't a witness into "how " they reached to that conclusion...So I'd say its a good horror,from the point of view of the gore and other horror elements,but as to the story it lacks some necessary explanations as to how certain conclusions are taken.

Shrek (2001)

One of the best animated movies i've seen!!!

This movie had all the ingredients to become a success...First it was a love story, and although an animated picture I enjoyed it a lot..Second the voices of the main characters were borrowed from very popular actors such as Eddie Murphy,Cameron Diaz,Mike Myers and John Lithgow...This movie was also an adventure, and it was fun to see Shrek doing things differently in order to accomplish his objectives... Also seeing a lot of characters from the most famous fairy tales was great , even if they don't play an important role in this story...Best of all, it was an interesting comedy who had a lot of funny scenes and made me laugh pretty easily, thus making this film very pleasant for me...

Mr. Bean's Holiday (2007)

Very enjoyable comedy!!!

I enjoyed a lot this movie...it made me lo-ugh for the first time in a long time...Rowan Atkinson does a wonderful performance playing Mr. Bean...The story of the movie is simple:Mr. Bean wins a trip to France...But in reaching France he passes through a lot of adventured, partly of his lack of knowledge of the language...I liked the idea of the movie, the lack of dialogs, made me like more this movie and especially enojy Mr. Bean's gags...Another thing that i liked is the fact that this film is fille with very interesting scenes,very funny and original...The "tie scene" and "doing everything not to fall asleep scene" are in my opinion very original...I awnt to add that the movie also had some sad parts, but this made me appreciate all the more this movie...I gave it a 7 cause it really impressed and changed my day.

The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (2003)

League of unconventional heroes!!!

Well when i saw the title, i thought i was going to watch a film with imaginary heroes such as Batman or Spider-man...In a way i was right...But the heroes presented here are very different from what i expected...We have here Mina Harker, Invisible Man, Captain Nemo, Mr. Hyde(and sometimes Dr. Jekyll), Dorian Gray, Tom Sawyer and Allan Quatermain...I found this action movie more agreeable, more original due to this...These guys have to save the Earth from war...A lot of scenes i found amazing, mainly due to special effects, and zones... The dialogs were also very interesting, and increased in my opinion the quality of this movie...This movie deserves an 8. and i actually had fun watching it.

Lucky You (2007)

A movie recommended for the non-gamblers!!!

Although i am a non-gambler i enjoyed this movie...it showed me how dangerous gambling can be...one day u have a lot of money, the next one u have to pawn all your valuables in order to rise the minimum amount to keep on playing...although it was filled with terms related to poker, i did managed to understand some elements like "poker face" or "bluff"...The movie is structured into two parts: 1.first part explores the "adventures" of Huck Cheever(performed by Eric Bana)to get a sit on the poker tournament...He finds a girls whom with he falls in love, but his love for the poker damages the relationship. 2.The tournament part, where is shown the actual tournament, poker game... If one views this movie from the point of view of a poker film, then it is a great adventure, though also a painful one, the pain being given by the turns of event which very frequent happen to the main character.But if one views this movie from the point of view of a drama, filled with love and risk, then the film is more exciting and unpredictable, thus making it more attractive.

Movie exploring the relationship between teacher and student!!!

This movie wasn't what i expected....but alas, it was not a very bad comedy...8 students in a class have the chance to go to Oxford, but for that they must prepare...They have 3 professors, 2 very nice who approach they're classes very good, and one who wants them to see things differently, and thus, treat them harsh...i liked the freedom with which these students talk to their teachers...they are smart , outgoing , and when they don't like something they say it...A surprise for me who to see Richard Griffiths, who performs as Professor Hector, and who does everything to make his students fall in love with poetry...I liked him in this memorable role, and it was interesting to see him, after playing that negative part in Harry potter...This movie requires attention, cause the conversations explore different subjects...

Breach (2007)

Very interesting thriller!!!

I liked this movie a lot...not only is it adventurous it penetrates a lot into the human character...what the message it transmits is that u can never know someone...people are not as they appear to be...Robert Hanssen, portrayed by Chris Cooper is a successful intelligence officer, with a lot of experience and a splendid background...but rumours appear that he is not loyal, so Eric O'Neill, portrayed by Ryan Phillippe is sent to investigate..As a psychological thriller i found it very good one...it explores a lot the psychology of the traitor... I gave it a 7, cause i was impressed...it had a lot of elements that attracted me...once has to watch this movie very attentively to understand it.

Fracture (2007)

Unpredictable psychologically thriller!!!

This was a very interesting thriller...with a large dose of unpredictability i might add...A successful district attorney was just hired by a big company...his last case, seems to be easy...He lets himself fooled into believing that he will have no problem obtaining a conviction(obviously he didn't heard the saying that "nothing is what it seems")but he is proved the contrary, by Ted Crawford- the defendant, portrayed greatly by Anthony Hopkins...the strong point of the movie is i think, its finish...This was a thriller of very high quality, with a lot of elements that keeps one from guessing the ending.

Dark Ride (2006)

Average horror!!!

This movie was OK...the classical story, of a serial killer stalking a group of teens, and eliminating them one by one...This film contained some hilarious elements, fortunately not much, but enough to make me resent it...I hate horror-comedy movies...the strong points of the movie were first the numerous bloody scenes, with the primary help of Dave Warden, who portrayed very good the crazy serial killer Jonah...Another strong point was the finish part of the movie...It was kind of weird for this type of movie, in the sense that the film doesn't finishes as one is accustomed to in a horror...Above that, it was a little entertaining, and i ain't sorry for having seen it.

Transporter 2 (2005)

Action movie with incredible scenes!!!

Transporter 2 is actually better than its predecessor...Another stunning performance of Jason Statham, who plays Frank Martin...This guy does a great performance in some scenes that i found incredible...Not only are they impossible, but he risks everything, even his own life to accomplish his mission...I've never seen anyone like him...The script was also very good, with a little wit and humor, though i must say the weak part of the movie, is its finish...everything ended to good, without a thorough explanation... on one point i thought it would be impossible to finish it in a positive manner without a general disaster...For those wonderful scenes, and for the performance of Statham, i gave it an 8.

See No Evil (2006)

Pretty convincing horror!!!

Man, this was a dark horror...Full of scenes with gore and violent murders...A group of cons, both men and women go to help redecorate a hotel, being promised a month off from their punishment...But in here lives a serial killer, Jason Goodnight, portrayed brilliantly by Kane...I really think that it wasn't very hard for Kane to do this role...As a WWE fan, I've seen him and he acts as a twisted guy there too...The strong point of this movie, were, i think, the scenes of this films that are very creepy, even for a horror...There are some that even i found to strong...The weak point of this movie is i think the story...it has major flaws...I found this movie as a convincing horror,because i enjoyed it from the point of view that it wasn't so bad a movie...it convinced me and it wasn't like some films that make one sorry to watch...on the contrary, it was very unpredictable.

300 (2006)

War movie of high quality, with memorable scenes!!!

I enjoyed a lot this movie...it had both adventure and unpredictability...The actors, beginning with Gerard Butler and Lena Headey, played their roles in a splendid manner...I also enjoyed the main concept of this film: fighting and dying with honor to protect the freedom of one and of its people, and also trying to do the impossible...I remember also a historical event , when the Ruler of 15 century of Valachia, Vlad Dracula the Impaler managed in a night attack to destroy an Ottoman army of 1million men, with troupes of 30 times lower...But there it was all about strategy...A main flaw in this movie that bothered me was the lack of strategy...I mean , the Spartan army managed to kill a lot of Persian troupes, but it didn't had a plan so as to guarantee the victory...Beside this and some scenes that weren't as logical as i expected, this movie was great.

Dead Silence (2007)

Great horror with some flaws in the story!!!

I enjoyed a lot this movie...it had all the elements to make it a scary movie... especially the location i found very appropriate...The idea behind it is simple: A murdered ventriloquist come to take revenge on the last heir of those who killed her...Jamie Ashen goes to his native village to investigate the murder of his wife, not knowing that he is in a terrible danger...Unfortunately the weak part of this movie was, i thought, some flows it had in the story...it had some elements that weren't very logical...Beside this, i found this film as very successful ...its strong part is the ending that will blow one away ...It would be great if the producers would do a second part.

I didn't find this movies disappointing...But i must say, by the way the first film ended, i didn't thought there was going to be a part 2...In the last few years i saw a great number of this types of movies:The result of some unknown experiments were the creation of mutants ... These monsters are smart and bold...The best examples are Wrong Turn and HHA 1...Wes Craven should choose another concept for his future horrors... Beside this, the film was OK...Actually as a horror fan, i found it very enjoyable and agreeable...though a bit scary...it was full of horror scenes, abundant in shocking moments, as any respectable horror should be...

Wild Hogs (2007)

A wonderful comedy!!!

I enjoyed a lot this movie...i found it a pleasant comedy, and the numerous hilarious scenes, made the movie even more than agreeable...What attracted my attention toward this movies was its cast, full of superstars: Tim Allen, John Travolta, Martin Lawrence, William H. Macy, Marisa Tomei and in the role of the negative character Ray Liotta... The story is simple: four men who are facing a middle-age crisis, all of them having a life that don't give them enough satisfactions...So they decide to evade this environment, are recover some of their past adventures...But this story, though without any serious repercussions has a motto that i find visible: sometimes one must be careful what he wishes for.

The Transporter (2002)

Impressive action movie!!!

I enjoyed this movie very much...It was full of suspense, unpredictability and most of all, action...The leading actor, Jason Statham played his part very well...i mean this guy drives, swims, parachutes out of an airplane, is a great fighter...The concept of this movie also was attractive to me...Frank Martin is a deliverer of special things...he is an ex military and has firm rules, rules that have helped him due is job impeccably...until a day, when the curiosity gets the better of him...The weak part of this movie, was the Taiwanese actress...this girl spoke very bad English...She spoke it even worse than Thalia...those dialogs between her and her father was also a weak point in this movie...beside from this, i found this movie very attractive and i think deserves a 9.

Great film with an unexpected turns of event!!!

I wanted to see this movie, ever since i first heard of him...The main reason was seeing Jim Carrey playing a dramatic role, and he performed it very good...As it turns out, i enjoyed it a lot...I found the story of the movie very attractive..."A story of obsession"...How Walter Sparrow finds a book centered around the role of number 23 in the characters lives of this book, and how it affects his due to the similar elements it has with his own life ...Another aspect that i liked in this movie, was its ending...The main role of the ending is to change every fact of the story, so as to give one the impression that what he saw until then is nothing compared to what's coming...I gave this movie 8/10, because i found it a great thriller.
