Urban Legend (1998)
4/10
It is Time to be Dead!
21 June 2021
Warning: Spoilers
In the nineties of the last century, there was a real boom in Hollywood for youth horror films, where the role of the antagonist was assigned to a maniac with an axe. Naturally, the squarelogy "Scream" stands here, which in general is not surprising, because in addition to the fact that the franchise was a completely independent product, it also ridiculed its fellow genre. But in addition to it, other franchises saw the light, the creators of which tried to shoot a serious youth horror movie without any hints of jokes and jokes. And today's review will focus on just such a film. So, these are "Urban Legend(s)".

A quiet student town. The students who live in it, according to their mental development, have not gone far from the boys and girls who study in the third grade of elementary school, because they can still get dressed without help, and putting two and two together is a million-dollar task for them. One can only wonder, as in America, what boasts of its education system, such spirited students? Well, it doesn't matter. And the important thing is that the owners of the Darwin Prize are being hunted by a man in a hood, who, when killing another student, is guided by urban legends. Well, the inhabitants of Pendlton University, beware of a crocodile in the sewer!

In fact, the viewer could see impenetrably stupid students even in the movie epic about the adventures of Jason Voorhees, and such behaviour became something like the norm in youth horror films, if not for one "but". And it lies in the fact that at the very beginning of the picture, the viewer is shown a resourceful young girl (by the way, not bad played by Natasha Gregson Wagner), who even took a pepper spray with her, and managed to knock out the glass with a chair, in general, the first victim of a maniac behaved herself as any normal person would behave in a similar situation. And actually it gave hope that everything would not be so bad and the students would be able to evoke feelings in addition to - "When will they just kill you all?" But hopes are dispelled when the viewer is shown the main character of this picture, a girl named/nicknamed Nicole (or Natalie, who cares? I'm personally want to call her by the name "Nicole", I can't help myself, for me "Nicole" is more appropriate to her than "Natalie", and so this girl will be called by that name next in my text). In essence, this is the same Nicole should be (on scenario) a tragic character, who needs to be empathized by the viewers with in every possible way - her best friend recently was killed, with whom the girls (as it later surfaced later) at one time brutally killed a man, accidentally, true, but still. She lives with a Goth neighbour, in any case, the screenwriters of the picture are trying to convince the viewers that Nicole's neighbour is exactly that Goth, although the girl (Tosh) has both friends of interest (with whom she most actively communicates on the Internet) and a young man (with whom she "meets" regularly in her and Nicole dorm room, hee-hee-hee), and Nicole herself has no one and she is constantly locked in herself. Substitution of concepts? Well, I have already encountered this. And also our unfortunate Nicole has friends who do not bully the girl, but with serious faces ask if everything is all right with her, and are ready to help in a difficult moment. In general, Nicole is an egoist girl, whose acting is able to compete with the facial expressions of pokerface, and all she is capable of is at times (when it is impossible to do without it in any way) improbably yell. What a "deep and interesting character", don't you think?

But what about the girl's friends, fellow students? Maybe they will be able to hook the viewer with something? No, they can't, because all the characters in this picture fall under the definition of "these people should die at the twentieth minute of the film," because the actors play at the same level as the performer of the main role, which means that the audience is presented with a matinee arranged by a certain family of stones. No, of course, Robert "Kruger" Englund and Jared Leto are present in the picture, but if too little screen time is given to the first, then the second starred in this picture just for nothing to do, and therefore does not try to play much. And it's a pity, because if the main character was not Alicia Witt, who could squeeze out exactly one and a half emotions, but Jared Leto, then the film would only benefit from this. But not fate.

Well, how is the situation with the slasher component? Well, do you know, some kind of piercing-cutting objects that pierce the bodies of teenagers, or memorable deaths, whether it's a toilet bowl that fell on the head of one of the heroes or a can of pepsi, in which there would be sulfuric acid instead of soda? But nothing.

For the murders themselves - they take place in complete darkness, and the viewer only will see what the hero was like before communicating with the killer, and what he became after. And yes, the changes are purely cosmetic and they come down to ketchup on the wrists and faces of these unfortunate people. And it seemed to me that one of the key ideas of any slasher was to show how creative a killer can be, especially trying to bring to life the urban legends of America. But, apparently, I'm behind the times.

Summing up, I would like to say that there is an atmosphere of tense expectation in the film, but it only works in the wrong direction. Heroes (except Tosh, who I'm personally like because of Adorable, Wonderful and Unforgettable for me Danielle Harris, actress, who in this film (and in every of Her films she did!) really dedicate herself to Her Character Tosh - bold, rude, vulgar, too free-spirited maybe, but for me just mentally unstabled, Poor Little Girl, who lost her way in life, and who for me, Didn't Deserve such cruel, cynical and treacherous Death, in which I much more blame even not a killer himself, but Nicole, who was cold-hearted, irritated and somewhat, I feel it personally, even envied to Tosh's popularity among guys (Goth guys, and so what?), she could take just one motion by herself, and murder (maybe, as a killer had planned it at the first place) couldn't be done, but she didn't even bother in her mind, what's really going on, and as a result killer succeed in his vile and disgusting intentions) do not cause sympathy, but directly opposite feelings, and from that I want the killer to come and do something terrible with them. With the plot, the creators also overdid it, making a murderer of someone from whom you do not expect this in any way, and not only because this hero had successfully pretended to be kind all the time before, but because he simply physically could not do what he did. And explanations like "why and for what important reasons for him he does this" are far-fetched, in my purely subjective opinion, by white threads, and somehow you don't really believe in them. I didn't hear any musical accompaniment at all, in addition to the wonderful cool song "Crop Circle" by "Monster Magnet", which Tosh (as a 12 year old, when I first watched this, I dreamed that I would have such a cool older sister!)) turned on at full volume on her computer. After all, before her death, she listened to this Great Music, eh...(((( I'm So Sorry for Tosh. Even now, almost 20 years later. She had Taste, Style and Fashion, even strange and creepy, but so, again, unlike Nicole/Natalie, who, I think, just didn't know such words in theory, not mention about practical usement.

And as for the actors, as I said, they play below average, which, however, is the norm for this kind of films. And that's why I still advised you to refrain from watching and turn your eyes to the ageless classics of the genre in the face of "Halloween", "Friday the 13th" and the "Scream" that joined their ranks.

4 out of 10. I wish you all Health, good luck and all the best. I know that fans of these "Urban horror stories" will throw rotten tomatoes at me, belittle and pessimize my point of view in every possible way, but I wrote my review counting on adequate, unbiased, understanding and (most importantly, sic!) accepting someone else's point of view, which can (and should, as I think!) sharply differ from the reference, clearly and firmly established and generally accepted. I am such a person, I am not ashamed at all, and I am proud of it. If I don't like any movie (or in general I have my own point of view on any issues) I am not shy to express it openly, honestly and sincerely, without any fear of condemnation. This is my credo, my main life principle, and no one will ever force me to refuse to follow it. You may not agree with my opinion, but to abandon it or, even more so, force me to join an opinion that is polar different from mine - I ask you to spare me from this. I said all that I want, thanks to all, who put their time and patience to read it.

Princess Sissi (1997–1998)
10/10
Princess Sissi - Queen of hearts
21 December 2019
I'm very love this cartoon, remember as I fled from school, just to watch another series on TV. Beautiful, romantic and sincere, it is the love story of a simple girl from a noble Bavarian family Elizabeth and Prince Franz, future Franz-Joseph I of Austrian-Hungarian Empire. Cartoon "Princess Sissi" is very kind, naive, but it's a fairy tale, and of course, already now, when I viewed it in adulthood, many things in it seems very naive and implausible. But I still love it and with warmth and nostalgia always keep my sweet rememberings about moments in the past, when I discovered wonderful world, where friendship, kindness and love surpasses malice, envy and cruelty.

The main character, Elizabeth, and to her friends "just Sissi" - she is charming, beautiful both externally and internally. She is sincere, kind, trouble-free, always ready to help everyone. And she always forgives all the villains who throughout the animated series did a lot of nasty things to her and her friends and loving ones. Very fond of animals, active, great rider, people are drawn to her and everyone in this cartoon is crazy about her. Actually as the audience of too, of course, because how can anyone not to love (or maybe adore) such a perfect Princess? A terrific role model, especially for young ladies.

Prince Franz, also probably a favourite of the audience, brunette with green eyes and on a white horse! In the cartoon he is presented as a real Prince, he is kind, brave, fair. However at some moments viewer wants to kick him, because he believes anyone who contacts with him, and can't see because of his frankness and straightheartednes, that not all of this people wish good to him, some of them just manipulated him in its vile and malevolent purposes. And because of it, I'm always very worried about Sissi and Franz, and very wanted, that they would be at last happy together.

Queen Sofia, Chansellor Zottornik, Helena and Count Arkas - they are villains of the cartoon, they constantly prevent the main characters to be together, plotting, weaving plots and intrigues, and it turns out they did it quite skillfully. In this cartoon, I love all the characters, even negative ones, because they are perfectly invented and made. Especially Zottornik and Arkas, I love them!

Sissi's family members and her many friends are just as well thought out and made. Franz's brother, Karl, is a nice and kind guy. Tommy, an orphan boy and Sissi's best friend, Hungarians, quite a cute and interesting characters.

Cartoon is adventureous, interesting, there are a lot of intrigues, secrets and conspiracies. Shown a long Elizabeth's way to the throne and many troubles and trials, that she must overcome to finally be with her beloved Franz. A stunning beautiful story filled with kindness and adventure.

I think all female viewers of all ages will love it (and probably some part of male audience, that who remember this miracle from childhood, and not toughened by years in heart and soul, just like me!)

P.S.: how sad, that real life-story of Princess Elizabeth of Bavaria, then Queen Elizabeth of Austrian-Hungarian Empire, was so tough, bitter and leads to tragedy in its end... This woman were just Awesome person, she fills the hearts of people with love, hope, misericordia and forgiveness, and people of Hungary, whose life energy and joyfulness Elizabeth so admires, and whose independent state of mind she respects so much, that she defends them beyond all Austrian government attacks to diminishing their political and civil rights, granted them equal rights and status of citizens of united Empire, they love and adore her now and then, forever and ever, they even built a bridge in Budapest that was named by her official name, and privately they are called her "Our Beloved Princess Sissi".

Napoleon (1995)

Always in my Heart and Soul!
12 October 2019
This is not a review, but only an imperfect transfer of my memories and impressions of what I saw as a child, which I want to present exactly in the form as if I wrote a review at the age when I first saw the film. Therefore, there will be no spoilers.

For me "Napoleon" is nothing else that Eternal and Timeless Masterpiece of Art! This film is intended for every person who has Soul, Heart and who loves their pets, who cares about them, who values them, who knows, that for pets their Masters are The Best In The World! Nothing for pets matters more, than its Home and Master! This, it seems to me, is the key idea of the film.

P.S.: Dedicated to my, now such a distant childhood, the year 2000/2001 when I first watched with my parents this wonderful and unique Film and that inexpressible and/or inexplicable with words feeling of happiness, flying on the wings of Dream and Fantasy then and sweet nostalgia now - feelings that I have not experienced since then, never when watching any other film.

Rafferty (1980 TV Movie)

Responsibility is the price we pay for power. Winston Churchill
4 March 2019
Warning: Spoilers
As we all know, one speech does not go far, but ambitious social worker without the skills of diplomacy - anywhere. The rules of the big game at high rates require everyday participation in the case. The risk of stumble is great, but the prize looming ahead is worth the hard work. Not paying attention to the storm around him, he went on the call of power-the most powerful and tenacious essence of the intangible world. The career path of Union leader Jack Rafferty is a ready-made encyclopedia of success for any politician, not necessarily American. Of course, capitalist values were particularly clearly manifested just over the ocean - so, in any case, it was considered to be in the Soviet Union. Despite the fact that the former power of the trade unions is now lost on both sides of the Atlantic, the three-part television picture of Semyon Aranovich is relevant and without reference to a specific political course. Questions of public morality, human ethics, not to mention the high-profile revelations are always interesting. The epic rise of a large figure is comparable only to its monumental collapse, and to be a witness to this is partly honorable to everyone, especially in the case when revelations go too far.

Things happening "under the carpet" combinations have to stay there - this any the puppeteer must know before he picks up the imaginary threads. However, that for every large fish may be even bigger - remember that does not. An imposing man, whose word is heard by the whole country, is stuck somewhere between these two truths, which have a direct relationship to big business. The world created by Jack Rafferty seemed strong, solid and new-worldly pompous. Probably from some point the tough boss lost the difference between the lie and the truth. The truth was everything that was supposed to be, and anyone who dared to doubt it - received a ruthless sentence of cold eyes. It's amazing how much crap his character showed Oleg Borisov, but it's sure not for mercy. This concept, according to Jack, from somewhere in the past, where hearing was not heard of bribes, connections with the criminal world and the cynical use for money and a high position. Revealed throughout the three series of continuous flow of the facts of this biography make even doubt: and whether there were so many "feats" one person? As it turned out, the presence of the goal is able to work miracles with a person, the benefit and the means to choose from a great variety.

Political and social drama is distinguished by impeccable attention to the nuances. Aranovich in the manner of grandmaster is in no hurry to take the next step, calculating the situation for many moves ahead. Positioning Jack as his opponent, the Director does not forget to pay tribute to each fallen "figure", whether it is a devoted friend of the Union member's childhood or his disgraced mistress. For the picture, it is clearly noticeable contrast victims of dishonest games with those who lead them. It just so happened that initially the negative characters, like the gangster, Farichetti, wonderfully played by Armen Dzhigarkhanyan, start to cause almost sympathy for his naivety and inability to recognize in loquacious Jack a natural born predator. Not so important the true scale of the shadow things, like number of lives, destroyed and utgiven criminal hand on the bottom. Pop-up here and there inserts from the past, showing Rafferty modestly dressed activist, look like a bitter irony on the part of the author. What a ghoul, they say, he became, and the guy he once was - that it is necessary.

Popular television is the true ruler of the world. This conclusion is pushed by the abundance of transmitting devices, flashing in the picture. Unprecedented in its resonance information occasion revealed the need for viewers to participate in determining the fate of others. Immediately not to determine who is more suited to the role of the ruler of doom: losing credibility Rafferty or Chairman of the Commission Ames in the performance of Alexandr Kaidanovsky. That's how people are, what they are used to follow leaders, often only very late understanding, and whose, in fact, back they see before them. The crimes of the trade Union bump are monstrous, but they really shock only those who are directly connected with Jack and depends on him. For all other suitable snide smile of a journalist, played by Herman Jr. That is, today trampled one, and the next day serve another-the public is interested. This criticism of the whole society, applied by Aranovich, goes beyond the procedural framework and borders on the universal. If the American way of life is shown by the Director very much in Soviet and not too realistic, the human vices are truly international and extremely tenacious.

Since its release to the screen to this day, "Rafferty" is in the status of a little-known work, which is clearly unfair. The brilliant cast, fascinating narration and strong direction distinguish the mini-series from other Soviet attempts to portray overseas life with its values. All the political solitaire games shown in the film do not negate its outstanding moral value. When you see exactly where the harm and why many troubles, there is a chance to become at least a little more cautious. Without canceling the fiction of both the tape and the original source of Lionel White, it is difficult not to notice the obvious thing: people have not changed a drop since then. Power is still dangerous and still attractive, and betrayal is committed every day and will continue to be committed. Man is weak and still open to vices. Is it possible to avoid them, and if so, is it worth it? The answer is always behind the scenes, but whoever once again appeared before the altar of his conscience, he can be even more cunning, dodgy and insidious than a handsome sleek captured in the film.

And that guy was once good...

Soul Mate (2005– )

Soul mates: True Love transcends even Death
4 March 2019
Warning: Spoilers
"The Voice of the Heart" (or "Soul Mate", literally translated from Portuguese) is a Brazilian telenovela, which was filmed in 2005. Script writers, Valsir Carrasco and Thelma Guedes, created tears touching and romantic story about True Love, over which no control nor the machinations of others, or even Death.

The series begins in the 1920s in the city of Roseiral. There lives a wealthy entrepreneur, Raphael (Eduardo Moscovis), who owns plantations for growing roses and puts his Soul into his business. But most of all he wants to meet his True Love to find happiness. And soon he meets a ballerina named Luna (accent on the first syllable) (Liliana Castro), who recently arrived in the city.

Further exciting developments the viewer will see himself while watching the telenovela. "The Voice of the Heart" is a series that covers topics such as:

  • reincarnation (Serena);

  • regressive hypnosis (sessions of Dr. Julian and his assistant Sabine with Serena);

  • obsession with spirits and struggle with this condition (Alessandra, wife of Dr. Eduardo);

  • supernatural phenomena and mysticism (a series of moments throughout the receives more superficial treatment);

  • opposition of materialistic worldview and supernatural phenomena (Dr. Eduardo, Agnes);

  • mediums and their abilities (Sabine, Alessandra);

  • the power of forgiveness and its impact on the person (Guto);

  • true sincere love (Raphael and Serena);

  • the betrayal (Raul vs Raphael, Raphael vs Christina, Deborah vs Raphael, Raul vs Dalilah etc.);

  • friendship (Serena and Jose, Serena and Eliu, Serena and Tere, Raphael and Eduardo, Raphael and Olivia, etc.);

  • racial prejudice (faced Eliu and Sabine);

  • emotional dependence on the verge of madness (Christina);

  • finding oneself, introspection, search for meaning in life and purpose (Serena).

Among the actors I would like to say that this is probably the biggest and best role in the career of my beloved Priscila Fantin, who performed it with great talent and charm. Her character Serena is the Eternal Light of Love, the miracle of God on Earth.

During the series, each character undergoes a certain transformation, which changes its personality, way of thinking, character, attitude to other people.

Raphael is a kind, decent man. Sincere, loyal, yearning for his dead wife. But even he has a number of disadvantages. Raphael jealous, too trusting detractors (who desire Evil to him) and don't believes friends (who wish him Good). This is due to the fact that he does not believe in human meanness, because he is honest. He simply does not believe that someone is able to deceive him, to wish him harm, so he ignores all warnings. In addition, Raphael did not love his wife Luna for her Soul (as he thought), but rather for her elegance, beauty, manner to look good, possession of etiquette, her creative talents. And Raphael, in my opinion, were the following tasks throughout the series: 1) to understand who his real friends and who are enemies; 2) to learn to trust his Love; 3) to stop trying to find in Serena his dead wife Luna and to remake here in the likeness of Luna, and take it in a new way, with new habits and experiences; 4) to acquire the ability to appreciate Serena's kind heart and her spiritual beauty, not superficial (etiquette, manners, the ability to walk on heels and dress like a lady); 5) to consider her unique personality; 6) to love Serena's Soul really, without any conventions.

Serena is a sincere, open, kind girl with a pure Heart. She is generous, merciful, and has pride and self-respect. As the image of Luna (her past life) she was provided a hassle-free life and almost didn't grief (except some events), in the form of Serena, she was forced to undergo a series of tests, which tempered her character, made her a really strong spirit person, brave and noble. In the new life the girl was born in an Indian tribe, therefore, has acquired the wisdom of its people and the valuable knowledge that has helped her in many aspects of life. Serena's spiritual growth is clearly tracked throughout the series.

Christina is a beautiful, insidious, determined girl who from her early youth is unrequited in love with Raphael. Her love was so strong that she gave her soul to the Devil for the opportunity to get this man (as well as his wealth) at any cost. Her love was transformed into a mad obsession, a passion of wild power that took over Christina's mind. The pain of the rejected woman, resentment, injustice, despair, bitterness, unbearable suffering - these reasons served as the starting point of Christina's behavior and her evil deeds. This girl had two ways: to overcome the bitterness and resentment in her soul, to leave the house of Raphael and find her happiness or to seek Raphael at any cost, no matter what. Christina chose the second way, although it was destructive.

Guto is a criminal who has served time in prison, who in his own way loves Christina and helps her in all her atrocities, because he hopes that she will stay with him. Guto's love is rather a thirst for possession, because he is not sufficiently developed spiritually to understand the essence of true love. At first he makes an unpleasant and repulsive impression, but the founded forgiveness changes everything for him....

If you want to have a good time, enjoy a beautiful romantic telenovela about True Love, which overcomes any obstacles and even Death, then I recommend you to watch "The Voice of the Heart". Also, the series will be interesting to people who believe in reincarnation or have ever encountered in life with supernatural phenomena. Perhaps the situation in which the characters fall, will help you open your eyes to some things or give the opportunity to resolve certain issues. I must admit that I discovered this series quite by accident, but it was very relevant to me for many reasons. And today, after watching the last episode, I am ready to say that now "The Voice of the Heart" has become one of my favourite Brazilian TV series.

Thanks to the writers, actors, directors and producers for their Titanic work and for creating such a Beautiful Film! This series warmed my Soul.

The Land of Hope - The continuation of a great story
4 March 2019
Warning: Spoilers
This telenovela is a continuation, though not a continuation, but rather similar to "The Land of Love" - a wonderful love and historical story.

"The Land of Love, the Land of Hope" - is also in many ways an interesting sight, only we are shown not the 19th century, but the 30s of the 20th century-the economic crisis, the revolution in Brazil, the beginning of fascism... and against the background of these historical events unfolds a beautiful love story - between a poor Italian boy and a beautiful Italian girl. The young man, an excellent pianist, he went in search of happiness in another country, behind him rides his sweetheart. Lovers will have to go through a lot of troubles and trials to overcome on the way to their happiness.

This series is weaker than its predecessor, but if you take it as a separate product - it is strong and interesting novel. Handsome Reynaldo Gianecchini perfectly fits into the image of a young, poor pianist, aspiring to a better life. Priscila Fantin - just beautiful and clever. She perfectly transformed into the image of Maria and presented it with dignity on the screen. In addition, the presence of actors such as Antonio Fagundes and Raul Cortez only decorates the picture.

I am just adore Priscila Fantin! The first time I saw her in "The Land of love, the Land of Hope", even when I was only 11 years old and the series was broadcast on the 1st channel, and forever fell in love with her wonderful and unforgettable heroine Maria! Now I am rewatch this story, and the feelings of those past years have not changed, but have become only brighter - a light and kind person, a beautiful actress and magnificent woman, from one of her smiles there is a feeling of happiness and love!

Priscila Fantin and Vivianne Pasmanter are my favourite Brazilian Actresses!

The series returns a sense of happiness and fullness of life.

I advise to watch this masterpiece to all of the fans of Brazilian telenovelas.

"Tranzistoria, or cruel satire on the consumer society"
25 December 2018
Well, I summarize everything that made me view this "not childish", or rather, it is "not quite for children" film. Why? There are clearly elements of "adulthood" - TV, which show the transfer of 16+, some features of the behaviour of the characters, for example, the management of a motorcycle and a car, and, finally, the lyrics of songs. The last thing upset me the most: I did not hear the wonderful song "Maria, Mirabela...", which was the title theme in the first film. Well, okay, however, the songs in the second movie there is no shortage, they are, with some exceptions, quite tuneful and melodious, memorable, and I even liked the musical theme of the knitting grandmother, and the Kwaki's song and love the theme of Skipirich and Omide. I somehow thought that the Romanian language in something similar, oddly enough, with the Portuguese, slip some words common to both languages ("misteriosa" of the first song, "lagrima", from theme of love).

This, perhaps, is all that can be said positive about this project. I specifically use the word "project", because I personally do not consider this film as a full-fledged work, and certainly not a continuation of the story about the wonderful, magical and lovely sisters girls and their friends - animated animals. It seems that the creators just wanted, so to speak, to go to the popularity of the first film, but it did not go as expected, and the result was appropriate. The film can not be called childish because of the above features; adult topics are touched upon, and quite relevant, such as the society of people in a non-existent country of Tranzistoria, unsteady and ephemeral, but so frighteningly real and reminiscent of the notoriously known society of "common prosperity, common dream, universal consumption", which has developed in the Western part of our hemisphere and threatening to spread its deadening, oppressive and anti-human influence on the rest of the world. People in such a "state" are not human beings, but only shells: there is a body, but no mind, no thought, no living desire for anything. Especially sharply and ominously ran into memory words from the semi-dream, semi-song: "We accept all, Good and Evil, the only thing that matter is that we've always been lucky..." I don't know about you, but when I hear these words I just feel its threatening sense and presented void, as it reminds me the way of life, or rather, the way of existence, and, the most important, the way of thinking of the high part of people of countries from so called "Golden Billion". God Master forbid that all over the world people become like this, it would be too scary and disastrous for humanity and morality... This part of the film in a sense, I can say, was a definite success, for those viewers, of course, who, like me, can see its hide (and high) meaning.

About the main characters I will not say anything, because I can't decide whether I like them or not, rather something in between: like the same, even externally and in type similar to the original Maria and Mirabela, but the essence is still different, maybe just the depth is not enough. In this second film more attention than girls, was taken by animated creatures, Kwaki the Frog, Firefly Skipirich, and Butterfly Omide, which is not the same as in the original, especially Kwaki, maybe just because it is there another actor voiced. Here they are just animated pictures from the wall, and not quite real, although painted characters that is different from characters from the first story, which were clear and quite human. In general, the main characters turned out to be if not a complete parody, but rather a copy of their predecessors, and quite pale and not too convincing.

The same, in my opinion, the main thing is that the first film is still a fairy tale, rather childish, Yes, but clear, simple and comprehensible story that will be pleased to watch both children and adults, and better - parents with their children as good and sweet "bedtime story". The second film is not a fairy tale, not at all, for me, it's grotesque phantasmagoria, something theatrical, something intimate, quite heavy, dark (most of the time in the frame darkness reigns, and the bright colors quite noticeably hurt the eyes) and a little wafting the basic idea of the story. Although I cannot admit that the moral here is stated, despite the seemingly rather clumsy implementation. For myself, I decided so: to take this film as a continuation of the original fairy tale, it is not necessary to take it literally, because the characters here, though they have original names, but completely different in their traits of character, although there are similar features and characteristics. No, the point here is different: it is necessary to consider, even if it is a bit difficult that the two films belonging to different periods (the beginning and the end of 1980-ies) there is only one, but decisive and unifying whole: faith, boundless faith in the good and the creative in man - friendship, faith in yourself and your strength, love for your neighbours and family, hope for the best, mutual help not only to crush and overcome the evil Kingdom of Tranzistoria, but also to conquer their own fears, complexes, doubts, to grow a Person, not just a man in the street, a consumer who does not believe in anything, not want anything but his own well-being.

This film, though shot in the late 1980s, and was shown in the USSR already in 1990, in something much wiser and, I am not afraid of these words, deeper and more meaningful than those films and cartoons that followed and so are a continuous conveyor to the present time, leaving nothing in the children's souls, except emptiness, lack of spirituality and again, the spirit of consumerism. Here, in contrast to the first film, this topic is affected, alas, too (the Kwaki's song that he is a movie star, popular culture, etc.), but then it's not so clearly and prominently shown and there was no imposition of stereotypes that shines through in every second Hollywood cartoon/film, designed for a young audience. Let me be called whatever you want, I do not care, I am grateful to this film for the fact that I saw an excerpt from it in my childhood, 15 years, or rather 20 years ago (the song of Kwaki remembered and animated characters turned into people, too, the rest passed by, because of just a young age of mine, it seems), now I wanted to find the original and discovered the "wonderful-superwonderful" world of two pure souls and the heart of the girls-sisters - Maria and Mirabela and their little friends.

Based on the above, my assessment is 7 out of 10, that is quite adequately and generously, because I didn't have high expectations, and nowhere is there to overstate, but to understate the film's rating I would not have too, because it left in my Heart and my Soul some trace, more positive than negative, despite its many flaws.

The bright memory of the dearly departed is dedicated... PS: after all, so I'm sorry that the role of the Kwaki in both films, Anda Calugareanu (24.10.1946 - 15.08.1992), died after only 2-3 years after her most significant project in career, in 1992, at the age of only 45 years... What a pity, to tears and role of Maria, a beautiful and unforgettable Gilda Manolescu, it happened in the 2008/2009 - 34 or 35 years, I don't know exactly, but her life has been cut shortly, tragically and horribly, under circumstances that are not fully understood... Rest in peace, bright souls of good people, I wish you found peace and quiet on Heaven, since you have not received it in life. P. P. S.: and here the King, the ruler of Tranzistoria, his manners, and apparently, something vaguely reminded me David Bowie, the Goblin King Jareth from the film "Labyrinth".

"Maria, Mirabela" - a small Masterpiece
24 November 2018
The most wonderful, magical, unforgettable film-a fairy tale for all ages - for children and for adults who have not forgotten their childhood and remained small in the Soul! Watched it a long time ago, as a child, 15-20 years ago. Very memorable funny animated characters-animals - Kwaki The Frog, Omide The Butterfly and Skipirich The Fireworm, liked the music, especially the song " Maria, Mirabela...", and of course, both of the main characters, little girls, Gilda Manolescu (Maria) and Medea Marinescu (Mirabela): so different and so attractive, each in its own way: touching, gentle and kind Maria and bold, rough, sharp on the language of Mirabela. Despite the fact that they are quite different in nature, sisters are always love and sincerely support each other and not leave in bad situations, their interactions perfectly complementing the missing traits: Maria - her infinite kindness, love and compassion for all living things, Mirabela - common sense, wit and a certain degree of practicality. The film is for children, and, of course, as expected, the end is good, and even very good: in the last scene in my eyes were pure tears - out of joy and boundless feeling of happiness.

The great sorrow and eternal memory to the untimely death of Gilda Manolescu, wonderful and kind Maria...

The film teaches a lot, in a simple fairy - tale form: how important it is to love your family and friends, to support and help each other - this is the real life and happiness.

Score: 10 out of 10

PS: Just finished watching, and it turned out that in my early childhood, I have seen a very different film, the sequel "Maria, Mirabela: Adventures in the Land of Tranzistoria" - I remembered not the plot and not the main characters, but only their friends, drawn-animated animals and the individual, random words of songs. But no continuation can surpass the original, and with "Maria, Mirabela" - this is the case.

Good film about a real and sincere girl in a fake hypocritical world
5 November 2018
The whole film a beautiful, magical and charming heroine of Sandra Julien (by origin - Italian Sandra Kalaputti) young and inexperienced girl Carol unsuccessfully struggling with his inner sexuality, experimenting in every way with its manifestations, which is in contradiction with the so-called moral norms of society, which is actually thoroughly false, hypocritical, lustful and false. Pushing his heroine with his individual representatives, the filmmaker causes the audience sympathy, participation and pity in relation to the confused girl and resentment, disgust and contempt for the people who shamelessly use naivety and inexperience of Carol to meet their vile needs, did not care about her feelings. Fortunately for the girl, she stumbles with a man who saw in her not only the body, but managed to see her deep soul, which gave her a real and sincere Love. Sandra Julien's beautiful game and original, vital theme make this film outstanding and unforgettable.

Sexual phantasies and real life
5 November 2018
Watched the film with Charlotte Alexandra in the main role "The Real Young Girl" (1976), liked her even more, than in "Immoral stories" (1974) - here she displays very sensual, wholehearted, heartfelt and indigenous heroine! If someone is interested, watch it and rate this film: its rating, of course, is low, but fans of films about the complex problems of maturation and puberty will have something to see and think about. I really liked the romantic musical theme "Une vraje jeune fille", written by the composer Mort Shuman. It's have a soul and very melodic!

The film is ambiguous, of course, but I liked it because of its provocative tone and the theme about the relation of sensuality and morality. Especially remembered Charlotte Alexandra from the novel "Teresa-philosopher", a very beautiful, memorable girl and not a bad actress.

"Nothing can faze Modesty Blaise - the world's deadliest and most dazzingly female agent!"
5 November 2018
Signore Monica Vitti-87! Amazing woman-bright, spectacular, sincere and natural! Beauty, sincerity and charm! A true Scorpio, just like myself!

"Modesty Blaise" (05.05.1966) - a stunning film about James Bond in a female disguise, Monica Vitti here is a sample of how a woman with her cunning game (female charms) can beat all her opponents and come out the winner, while not allowing any inappropriate, violent or vulgar action that distinguishes "Modesty Blaise", filmed more than 50 years ago, from the insanely dirty and vulgar "Red Sparrow" with Oscar-winning J. Lawrence, who I now just hated for her attitude towards Russia and the Russian people. Monica Vitti/Maria Luiza Ceccarelli - long life!

The Lion King: once again about a Masterpiece
17 August 2018
Warning: Spoilers
In a difficult situation is a person who undertakes to once again address to the topic of "The Lion King". According to the number of mentions in the media and among the conversations of ordinary people, he has long been on the same level with such parables as "Titanic", "Terminator" and "Cleopatra". And say about this cartoon, that either new extremely difficult. This with one hand.

On the other hand, taking into account all said before now of course it is difficult to find someone who hadn't watched "The Lion King".

Accordingly, in the details of the plot go there is no sense of the subtleties of the characters, too, can not be explained for the same reason.

But there is an opportunity to focus on the story of the inner features of the masterpiece for which it is so loved for quite a long period of time.

I'll start with the fact that the theme of giving animals human qualities in animation (and in some cases, and feature films) is not new.

Remember the series "Goofy and his team", "TaleSpin", "Duck stories", "Darkwing Duck" ?These stories, familiar to us since childhood, serve as a brilliant confirmation of the above theory.

But here's the amazing thing. None of these failed to achieve the naturalness of what is happening in "The Lion King".

The characters of this cartoon do not wear human clothes and do not try to behave like people, which does not always appropriate comic and increases the sense of realism of the screen image.

After 10-15 minutes after you start watching you began to think that animals really can talk, although an hour ago you were firmly convinced of the opposite.

Not only that, the animals suddenly started talking in human language, their emotions may be quite to compete in the sincerity of the feelings and actions of living people.

Even the famous Konstantin Stanislavsky would not find a reason to say his famous "I do not believe!" because the cartoon characters constantly and sincerely empathize.

Many eternal philosophical questions are raised by "The Lion King": "What is life? What's its meaning?", "How to find your way?", "Will we seem right that we as or think in 15 years when we're 25?". All these questions the viewer will find the answer looking and reviewing this wonderful cartoon in which there was a place for all spiritual manifestations of man. Even the main negative character of the film Mufasa's brother Scar figure is not as unambiguous as it may seem at first.

Of course in the struggle for power, he does not shun the lowest methods, but in all he is not right from a political point of view?

He and his older brother just have diametrically different views on how to rule the state.

Mufasa mostly relies on his strength, he, in modern parlance, professes a authoritative regime.

Scar in the soul is more democratic. He says plainly: "With regard to mind I got the lion's share, but on the part of brute force is out of a genetic misfire". He's cunning and hypocritical on occasion. Isn't that an important quality for a politician? Isn't that an important quality for a sovereign?

Our unforgettable Joseph Vissarionovich Stalin would estimate that for certain.

Someone can argue with that citing the example of what happened to the Pride Lands during the reign of Scar. Recognize, Liony played too much and made a huge mistake: did not secure the support of the people and too much dissolved hyenas -traditional enemies of lions. Scar not change his nature and whether he in this situation behave wiser cartoon would end quite differently.

Anyway, but nevertheless this story has a happy ending and despite the controversy of many moments I am convinced that this happy end heroes deserved. They made the right choice although for many of them it was not easy to make.

Even Timon and Pumbaa decided support his friend Simba in a difficult minute. Quote: "Simba, if this is important to you we are with you until the end". Timon

And they have always been true Epicureans and never bothered with complex issues of morality and law.

Well, when you need to help loved ones, each of us can become better and it's wonderful.

I in turn hope that this wonderful cartoon called "The Lion King" will help to become better for everyone who will watch it.

Dreams come true!
2 July 2018
Warning: Spoilers
A great old cartoon about how important and necessary it is to dream!

After all, as you know, if you want very much, dreams come true! Even the most incredible! Such as the desire to see a living dinosaur, or even more difficult - to have a good and faithful friend!

And what if we combine both of these desires at once?

Why not?

The last time I watched this cartoon 15-20 years ago, but despite such a long break, it still leaves a bright impression on yourself!..

Of course, with age it is more and more difficult to immerse yourself entirely in the fairy world, dissolve in this film-made fairy tale, continuing to feel like a child). Many episodes may seem inappropriate or unnecessary to an adult (for example, the final kiss of a boy and a girl...)... but on the other hand, it is much more accurate to formulate those thoughts that are inherent in the cartoon and that children are more difficult to understand...

For example, the basic idea that premature attempts to enter into adulthood, so to speak, "to flutter out of the parent's nest" ahead of time, being still fragile and not ready for the harsh struggle for survival in the adult world "chick", is fraught with serious difficulties and dangers; or that under no circumstances can not lose your human face ("do not be so evil just because he (crazy Professor) evil! Rex means " king." So be a king no matter what! I'm begging you, Rex!»); and the final scene with Professor Screweyes (which doesn't seem quite fair to me today, but rather sad) tells the kids how dangerous it can be to have your own fear, to the point where it can eventually destroy you ("Wait! Don't leave!.. When I have no one to scare - I myself begin to fear...»)...

So to review these time-tested things, sometimes useful, even if you are one of them, seemingly all grown up! After all, the questions posed in these tapes, sometimes are much more relevant only when you stop being a child...

But I personally want to watch such masterpieces through the eyes of a little boy, who first met them in the late 90's or early 2000's. nothing special without thinking, but just immersed in a world of beautiful imagination and wonderful animators...

Promoting a new Cold War, but now from disgusting and tasteless American point of view

Warning: Spoilers
After I learned about the attitude of J. Lawrence to Russia and to Russian people (my homeland), I have stopped to respect her Forever and since this day I don't want to watch any more movies with her participation, because I'm always keep in mind this peace of trash, named "The film" only by mistake.

Cranberry Jelly

Imagine a standard school lunch. If you're lucky, it won't be so bad. Lunch on the classics consists of the first, second and something to drink. So, sometimes drink proposed wildest nasty thing called jelly. This is some viscous substance, which did not quench the thirst, but only gave you a strange feeling to the taste buds. Warm or cold - the taste of this thing can be hard to find. Therefore, in the future, it is logical desire never to pick up jelly, leaving it somewhere in school times. Who needs to know that this is unclear now? Francis Lawrence, probably, never faced with such matter, which why he sat in the Director's chair with great actors and gave the audience a taste of the nasty jelly from sour cranberry, trying to hide behind this substantion his "Great Spy Thriller" . But the true lovers of delicious drinks can not hold that, not a tiny bit.

"The Red Sparrow" is up to a funny bad tape, which is unclear why there is exists in 2018. And it would seem that foreshadows trouble? The most that neither is present. The main character of Dominika Egorova is a Russian ballerina of the Bolshoi (Grand) Theatre. In one case, Dominika will never be able to speak again, because what it is the name of Russian girl, I'm live here all my life and don't know ANY SINGLE GIRL with such ridiculous name (for ears of Russian people, of course). Unfortunately, she has a sick mother and no money. Therefore the uncle working on Secret Service of Mother of Russia comes to the rescue. And because in Russia all beautiful women and ballerinas can be spies, offers to help her. The usual ballerina Dominika must decide whether she is ready to become a special agent from the category of Red Sparrows, that among the common people are called a sonorous combination of "magic vagina". And now she is waiting for the school of seduction, harassment and attempted rape, meeting with a good American Agent, next go Spy Games and, of course, understanding of the absolute and ultimate importance of Family, Love and Freedom.

"The Red Sparrow" is up to a pleasant bad in the most masked of the Cold War stereotypes in the first half, when nothing but laughter, the tape is capable of causing. The school of agents, designed to seduce the Enemies of the State, which is located in the forest, where Charlotte Rampling says simple Russian truths that their bodies belongs to the State, and makes each agent undress, simultaneously talking about how and who should be seduced. And, of course, harassment and rape are everywhere. In Russia there is no other way. And watch to the formation of Egorova before her going to the main thing is at least funny. The next hour of the film feels incredibly drawn out, where the creators who doesn't know what to do with the main character, make Jennifer Lawrence ride like a roller coaster in the directions of "No, I'm not a traitor, but Yes, I'm a traitor", in the end, not just confusing the viewer who just can't understand the elementary motivation of the heroine, and showing the stupidity of the Ballerina-Spy that seems to act only on the occasion, for some reason, with only one word: "Oh?" However, at the end of this absurdity, creators still trying to twist the tension associated with the intrigue of the double game and the search for the mole to the maximum, which, of course, gave a little interest for viewers, but the final denouement of this "Great Spy Thriller", glancing through the blood-red color of berries, absolutely does not follow from the character of the heroine, which remains incomprehensible even, probably for herself.

But the most unpleasant thing in "The Red Sparrow" - is not this ugly tightness, already embarrassing from the middle. Simultaneously the most ridiculous and stupid is a branchy cranberry straight from the days of the Cold War. The creators, of course, are trying to defend the idea that the Cold War continues now, but that only sounds like a stupid excuse. Move the effect of commercials for 30-40 years ago - and film might have received fewer claims. But with firm confidence that we are now in the present day, not in the past century, where the Evil Russian Government only tortures, and the American Earth blows Spirit of Freedom for everyone who are ready to betray this Evil and Cold Country, where if you are a man, you are only a rapist, and if you are a girl, you are only just the victim of rape. And though this contrasts with some deputies that like to dissolve the hands, may works, yet, in addition to laughter, these arguments can't stand on their broken legs, and don't cause any positive emotions from the experienced viewer. And Francis Lawrence, along with the screenwriter, is absolutely serious in his twisted and warped-out-the world realities, completely forgetting about the banal logic of the now changed world, where espionage games have become more subtle and developed, and Budapest in appearance is not equal to Moscow with its gray identical houses, where lives the poor and oppressed residents who are afraid to leave the house, because the State will immediately take you by the throat, because your body belongs only to the Power, and the True Beaten Patriots fights for the Country.

Undoubtedly, this is the influence of the literary source, but the tape of Lawrence looks exactly like a separate work, which is at least can be called a minor valued, but should be filled with meaning for the viewer. But the only sense in Russia, which you can see in the "Sparrow" - is the desire to rape a beautiful girl. On the screen there is almost no man with whom the heroine of Lawrence communicated, who would not want to get into her panties after a couple of seconds. And only one Good American she can trust. Cold Russia with its arrogant and a priori evil cardboard characters faces the bright American side, where no one forbids doctors to treat people and no one fresh their enemies. And let the creators are trying to show the importance of Love and Family through the brutal torture of the main character in the name of these things standing, but behind a veil of stupidity, bad stereotyping, uninteresting characters walking with the same faces, "The Red Sparrow" will lose any message and attempts to do something interesting, because even trying to treat at least some ironic to this show and simply keep up with the time, just as the ridiculous heroine of Rampling, who is fully confident that since the Cold War nothing has changed in Russia. And adequate spectator somehow have to enjoy ridiculous cranberry stereotyping, so the movie obviously turns out to work as a Comedy far more than satisfactory as a "Great Spy Thriller" (as intended The Director).

It would seem, having grown up, it is felt that this unpleasant "kissel" should remain in school years, and with "The Red Sparrow" it seems that this "Masterpiece" had to remain somewhere in the past. However, it is 2018 on the yard, and cranberry jelly in a faceted glass is served on the table. It is the same tasteless, viscous and unpleasant. And at the time of its filling and serving this dish is completely cold. Of course, at some point, the most adequate audience will enjoy the level of "so ridiculous that funny", but the creators obviously NOT intended this, because in Russia, as we know, there is NO HUMOUR. There's only ballet, torture and spies. Thanks to the Grand Chef of this, passing that is not necessary. Better get the drink back, before it completely rotten up.

"Real Boys"
7 March 2017
Warning: Spoilers
This serial I have watched last year and it left me with a positive experience, because it shows the life of ordinary boys of town district — Antoha, Vovan and Kolyan. The main character Nickolay gives the impression of a simple, kind and sincere guy, who has a criminal past for theft, but really wants to improve and live an honest life, but in this he was prevented by his unlucky friends, Anton and Vova, who constantly get into various funny situations, of which Kolyan has to rescue them. I will not describe the plot of series, just tell that it is a very dynamic and exciting, the characters are all clearly and understandably, and at the end of each episode the main character brings a kind of result, and evaluates his actions with the good or bad side. I also enjoy the music — especially the title song "Check it out, here are unreal boys..."

The first four seasons I have watched in the same breath, however, 5 and 6 seasons in Moscow had left the most unpleasant impression — they look too illogical and inappropriate at the general background of the series, and the end is not happy. I hope that the creators will not leave the serial and will finished the story of Kolyan by good end.

"Office Romance" - " To find someone I've got to get around the world"...
4 March 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Seeing this, without exaggeration, a brilliant film by Eldar Ryazanov, I first thought of how valuable in a human's life can be love. It is a feeling that cannot be expressed in words and to understand the mind — you need to trust only your heart. This feel really changes the man, it reveals its best features, and the inclination of the face, which he had not even suspected — it happened with the main characters Anatoly Efremovich and Ludmila Prokofievna (Alisa Freindlich and Andrey Myagkov perfectly demonstrated the fullness of the feelings of the two lovers). Svetlana Nemolyaeva was also incredibly sincere — I got her a feeling of emptiness and ordinariness of everyday life, the desire to return to the past and a terrible disappointment, and from the man who once was everything to her...

Music composer Andrei Petrov and texts of the poems create a memorable impression — happiness is actually very close to us, just need to learn how to see. The eternal quest of man in the vast world itself often lead him to a standstill, and how wise and happy are those who see in man not only the outer shell, but also his mental, personal qualities (Novoseltsev), and those who use the feelings of others only for the benefit of themselves, do not know the true prices of sincere relations is empty in a moral sense (Samokhvalov).

The one and only masterpiece, which never gets old — thank you so much, Master of the human souls, Eldar Aleksandrovich Ryazanov! A modern interpretation (re-make), so-called "Office Romance: Present Day", in my opinion, even not comes close to the original film and, of course, something big and innovative is not intended.

The Next Victim (1995– )

Who will be the next victim?
4 March 2017
Warning: Spoilers
In this serial I admire absolutely everything: the acting, the plot, the problems of life. The combination of the detective line (who and what for kills people) with disclosing of personal problems and the vicissitudes of everyday life of heroes doesn't cause boredom. On the contrary, this Brazilian TV series attracted me with its originality - unlike other serials, "The Next Victim" shows the life as close as possible to our eternal social problems - love and hate, wealth and poverty, nobility and meanness, etc.

If we talk about the plot, no complaints about it, in my opinion, in principle, can cause. Similarly, just like in "And Then There Were None", in the final there is displayed a morals: for all the actions, sooner or later you have to pay, and it is always better to think about future consequences than on short-term interests.

It is nice to see positive characters, worry for them and happy to see that the good still in the end triumphs over evil (though in life this doesn't always happen, but in the serial, in my opinion, all reflects quite logical and understandable).

It's a shame that this serial is not as well known and popular among viewers, as other Brazilian serials as "Clon", "The Land of Love", "For the Name of Love", etc. Perhaps this is due to the fact that the "The Next Victim" is more close to life series, and many people simply want to escape from everyday problems and routine and just relax, watching the unassuming story of the classic Brazilian "soap opera".

For me personally the "The Next Victim" opened a life where all human qualities are intertwined in a bizarre way - it can be terrible sometimes, but at the same time beautiful.

"Giorgino"
4 March 2017
Warning: Spoilers
I have started to write this review to the birthday of Mylène Farmer, a great French singer. Only because of that film I have acquaint oneself with her magnificent clips.

I will not repeat all what was written before me, I will say that "Giorgino" has made a lasting impression on me as a film that combines incredible bleakness of the narrative with amazingly beautiful paintings of nature. I bow before the genius of Laurent Boutonnat as director and composer, who wrote music which penetrates you and penetrates to the heart and turns the soul - I first listened to the soundtrack and then watched the film, and not left disappointed.

The actors played for such an atmospheric film like "Giorgino", in my opinion, just awesome, although for me in the first place was, of course, Jeff Dahlgren (Giorgio Volli) and Mylène Farmer (Catherine Degras) - in my opinion, Love, embodied them in the film, simply the most tragic of all that I've seen (except maybe "Titanic", but now, after seeing this Creation, I can't be sure). Very impressed with the way of the image of the Doctor, how is the main character portrayed, and the image of professor Beaumont - absolutely, completely different ideas about medical ethics and all of humanity, with respect to both the patients, and in general to people.

Thanks to the director and all of the actors that have made it possible for the viewer to touch the unexplored parts of the Soul that always feel, but at the same time, too often muffled in itself, the name of which is Sympathy and Compassion to the Human Being.

Warning: Spoilers
"Pulse" is a controversial film. On the one hand, it's a fantasy. You watch and understand that anything like that never happened to you. On the other hand, it is impossible not to feel when watching this film that the author was trying to convey to us the idea of the value of our life, which was completely ruined by people's desire for knowledge (which in the end turned out to be nothing more than insurmountable and unknown evil). I would define the genre of this film as a dark futuristic antiutopia (and I mean very near future, 5-10 years or so)... We must remember that life and fellowship is the highest value, and everything else is illusory and ephemeral (short-lived).

"Time" — Time is the only thing in life that man is free to dispose of his discretion
27 January 2017
Warning: Spoilers
I don't know why, but watching the film "Passengers" I have raised in my soul nostalgic memories about the album, "Еlectric Light Orchestra" ("ELO") "Time" (1981), the theme songs on which the fate of a man caught with the help of a time machine in the year 2095 and are not able to come back. I especially remember the song "21st Century Man", the meaning of which is that despite all the great technical achievements of mankind of the 21st century, they themselves do not make people happier, and even on the contrary, make more aware of their loneliness:

"Fly across the city, rise upon the land,

You can do most anything,

Now you are twenty first century man.

You should be so happy, you should be so glad.

So why are you so lonely, you twenty first century man?"

In my opinion, the main theme in "Passengers" is the theme of human loneliness. How it is shown in the film, deserves a separate description, but to avoid spoilers let me just say that at all times the universal, and yet the only cure for this epidemic of our age is the Love, and it is capitalized. This is light feeling that had test heroes Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence, it helped them better understand themselves and defined the whole meaning of their lives. No matter in what conditions was their fateful meeting, the important thing is what impact it has had on the future of Aurora lane and Jim Preston, through some painful doubts, fears and uneasiness were the heroes on the way to the realization of a common destiny that bound them aboard the space ship "Avalon". I believe it is the desire to live "here and now" in the earthly present, not "someday" in the future transcendental determined the final mutual decision of the lovers.

As for the actors, I can say that they excellently managed with their images. Chris Pratt was able to show courageous and at the same time, not alien to romance man, which by the fate, or maybe, by the chance, took, perhaps, the most difficult decision of his life. I respect and love Jennifer Lawrence as an actress, I don't think that her roles as a strong and independent heroines somehow spoil her, on the contrary, it perfectly reflects her character and willpower. Here, as in "The Hunger Games", the actress showed herself from the best side, performing the role of a young writer feeling a certain emptiness in life and seeking to fill the dream of a new life. But, as often happened in life, what we seek is sometimes much closer than we think, it is enough to look inside yourself and look around, and we understood what is our main earthly value, not illusory, though very attractive and alluring.

A film for romantics and those who love and appreciate a movie that raises questions about major life issues such as loneliness, finding yourself and your place in this world, and, of course, about love as a unique way of coping with reality and at the same time to escape from it.

"When you feel your ship is sinking,

When you feel your heart is breaking,

Hold on tight to your dream"! ("ELO","Hold On Tight To Your Dream")
