Teen Wolf (2011)
It's meant to be fun, and it delivers.
It's not really groundbreaking or changing the history of television, but! I like it a lot. The actors and actresses do a good job (Dylan O'Brien stands out thogh), I don't even mind the special effects. If you want a fun distractiion, i say give it a shot. I waited for years before i tried it because i thought it was gonna be stupid... but it's really not nearly as terrible as i expected. It's actually good.
I can see people avoiding it because of the mtv/younger generation... But don't. It's not Shakespere, but it's entertainment.
Plus it's a throwback to the 80's and that's never a bad thing. If you want a fun show to binge watch and reminds you of your youth but with werewolves, give it a shot.
Outer Banks (2020)
I really want to like this!
It's a great premise, and I was completely ready to love this show, and did for the first few episodes. It went downhill after that. Instead of being great, it became a mediocre young adult show. It's fine, it's not great though. Very strong beginning, after that, it just lost steam.
The acting is decent, the scenery is beautiful, the characters are mostly likeable (although the rich kids are annoying cliché. They are jerks just to be jerks. No real motivation behind why they are the way they are), the story is actually kinda interesting but it gets lost occasionally in the rich kids vs poor (who clearly aren't poor) kids story.
Poker Face (2023)
We need more of this.
What a well done homage! What's best is that it's not a facsimile and not a rip-off... It's the perfect example of creating an original show that's simply inspired by and brings nostalgia to a beloved show. I even appreciate the title screen being in the same font and color.
The acting is great, I have shared to all of my family that introduced me to classic murder mysteries in the first place. The acting is superb, the stories are original and fun, the production quality is great. Good direction... I really hope this one sticks because it's really worthy of having a spot in the current TV world.
Avatar: The Way of Water (2022)
Should see it in 3d.
Just go see it for yourself. It's worth it just for the visual aspect alone. It's fun. It's not supposed to be the new Godfather or something. It knows what it is. It delivers on what you'd expect.
If you just let yourself have fun and not act like a pretentious movie critic, you'll enjoy yourself. It goes by fast.
I saw it in Imax. So impressive visually.
I was a huge fan of the first one because I've never seen anything like it. This doesn't disappoint. Water is James Cameron's environment. I know it was a total self indulgent film for him. But it really is one of the most impressive things I've seen in a long time.
Black Mirror (2011)
I miss Black Mirror.
I loved this series. The new season is entertaining occasionally, but it's not Black Mirror.
Please bring it back.
Traded (2016)
So bad it's kinda funny
I look at this film as kind of a Sharknado. So many unrealistic twists, strange close ups, and just plain odd things that I actually was amused by it. The train conductor made me laugh out loud at how bad he was. Oh, the snarling and dagger stare were priceless.
Worth a watch with friends for a laugh! There's always something rediculous to point out.
A Star Is Born (2018)
Great movie
It's hard to spoil a timeless story-line.
Worth a watch. Oscar quality music, Oscar quality acting from cooper.
