Flight 29 Down (2005)
Close, but not quite there yet
First off, I'd just like to say that these kids are extremely lucky. They survived the crash (without serious injuries, might I add), haven't gotten ill, have tents and camping supplies, and a ten-year-old (?) genius with them.
Besides all that, the show really isn't so bad. Its similarities to ABC's Lost can be overlooked, and though some of the actors are weaker than others, the rest show talent.
The actress cast as Taylor (Lauren Storm) can be *extremely* annoying, (not to mention incredible thick-headed. Like in the episode with the camera battery. Urg, didn't everyone just want to scream at her?!) but she can also be a bit humorous, and lighten the mood.
Jackson (Johnny Pacar)is such a great character, and his acting isn't bad at all. Then there's Daley (Hallee Hirsh), who's very good in her role, and couldn't have been cast better. Nathan (Corbin Bleu. He is popping up EVERYWHERE!!!) can be bothersome, and I have to admit that often I wish he wasn't around. I don't think he adds much to the show.
I don't like the editing in this show. Like when we found that Abby girl. Why did they keep flashing pictures of her hand? I found that a bit odd. It's not like her face was cut up or anything, and it wasn't suspenseful - just annoying.
Overall, this show isn't wonderful, but certainly hasn't been ranked among such disasters as "Unfabulous" and "The Suite Life of Zach and Cody".
The Phantom of the Opera (2004)
Lovely
The cinematography was just beautiful, as was the set design, and were the costumes. Everyone of the songs from the stage production were in the movie, which I feel is an admirable quality, for many movies leave out songs. I thought that Gerard Butler did an amazing job in the title role. His singing made me cry, it was so moving. He really understood the character he was playing. Emmy Rossum did well, but I don't think she deserved the Golden Globe she was nominated for, much less an Oscar. This film was a work of art, and if you can't see that, then oh well. We all have our own opinions. If you appreciate musicals, then I'd suggest this movie. If you don't like musicals, then don't see it.
E! True Hollywood Story: Gymnasts: Little Girls, Big Dreams (2004)
Best E! True Hollywood Story to Date
This documentary looks beyond what elite gymnastics seems, and reveals the truth about the sport. Gymnastics is not all that it appears: adorable little girls with incredible strength and determination. There's much more to the elite gymnasts than that.
T.H.S. interviews legends of the sport, like Nadia Comaneci, Dominique Moceanu, and Cathy Rigby. Watching this hour-long documentary will teach you about the things these Olympians went through to make it to the top, whether it be bulimia, or two broken wrists.
By far my favorite E! True Hollywood Story! Gymnasts: Little Girls, Big Dreams gets nine stars. I wish it were longer!
Zoey 101 (2005)
Make The Pain Stop!
Here is a list of why Zoey 101 is a terrible show: 1. The actors are absolutely horrendous, especially Jamie Spears. 2. Completely and totally unrealistic. Does anyone know how expensive a boarding school on the Pacific Coast would be? 3. The plot lines are just stupid. 4. The dialog sounds like it was written by third graders, and listening to the actors running through their lines will leave you begging for an Advil.
Who would put this trash on TV? If you want to watch a good television show, then do NOT watch this. It's a waste of time, and shouldn't be on the air. It needs to be canceled as soon as possible.
Unfabulous (2004)
Certainly Unfabulous
Gag me. I wasn't expecting much, especially after the collapse of the All That empire, a show that was once good, and is now terrible (I think Nickelodeon is losing it). Yet, I still tuned in to watch this show.
The show is about a teenage girl named Addie singer, and how she deals with boys, friends, school, etc. She writes songs about her life, and hopes to be a singing sensation some day.
The characters are incredibly idiotic, and the main character, played by Emma Roberts, can't sing very well. This was clearly a bad casting choice, considering the fact that the show is about a teenage girl with a great voice. The casting directors should have looked past the fact that she was related to Julia Roberts.
Watching this show is a waste of time, unless you're in the mood to make fun of something.
